  1. Your Limited is a large frame pistol, but you're correct that with the mag well you need short grips. Best thing to do is send Henning an email to confirm what to want (and learn the lingo: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=178651#entry2040035).
  2. It auto parts store sells foamy 3000 grit sand paper which is great for finishing off the hammer hooks and such.
  3. Try to get your hands on some 3N38, SP2, HS6, Autocomp or Silhouette; with 9-11 grains those 100 grainers will shoot flat as hell! That is if you can get them to cycle; they're really short so in my 9mm I couldn't load longer than 1.077".
  4. I've shot fast powders through my Open gun with/without the comp and could not tell the difference in muzzle flip. You need a large charge of slow powder to create the gas volume necessary to make the comp work. Clays is a popular powder for Limited loads so see if you can trade it for the slow powders listed above.
  5. I've made 165 PF with 100gr bullets with both HS6 and SP2 (9X19), unfortunately USPSA rules don't allow you to declare Major PF with a bullet lighter than 112gr. That being said, my 100gr Open loads were awesome! Regardless of PF fast powders will render you comp useless, I've tried fast powders with and without the comp: literally no difference in muzzle flip.
  6. CZ USA sells a conversion kit to use the standard mags, although it costs more than a few TS mags. I wouldn't worry about the mags, the TS comes with three. As a guy with nearly a dozen CZ 75 pattern pistols, I can tell you the TS is the ultimate. Is it worth it? That depends how much you have to spend...
  7. I have one barrel 5.1" (no holes) and another 5.25" with 12 holes (and polygonal rifling which in theory makes it faster); with the same load the speed is 13PF so I think 1-2PF per hole is a good estimate.
  8. It might be easier to get the un fit SRTS from CGW and drill out the hole for your Tanfo.
  9. I got an 1/8" carbide ball end mill bid from my local bad ass hardware store for $13; they sell it online here: http://www.marshallshardware.com/products/product.aspx?pid=758-760-776-793-17103&lid=1
  10. This is actually a Hunter frame with long slide upper, but you get the idea:
  11. That's a special woman Mac, make sure to remind her of that periodically.
  12. You mean the HHF would actually be the highest hit factor ever shot on the particular classifier in that particular division?!? Pure insanity.
  13. If you can, try different disco/trigger bar combos. I have one spare trigger bar and two spare discos; just by systematically trying different combos I was able to find one combo which wouldn't reset at all, and one with as short a reset as my CZC Shadow with their SRTS.
  14. Hear he, hear he! Here's how I see it: there are a number of ways in which the HHFs could be calculated easily, objectively and transparently; it seems everyone who has participated in this thread can agree that's not the way they're currently being calculated and the tin foil hatter in me can't help but ask why. I'm also interested in the Production approval criteria, but that's not the focus of this particular thread as far as I can see.
  15. I don't think this thread is about pointing out what's wrong with the 'system', but merely wanting to know what that system is, hence the question: how are the HHFs determined? If the USPSA board develops the classifier, then over pizza and beer decides how fast the perfect run would be then so be it, but I for one would just like to know that.
  16. I have heard CZ sear springs are lighter than Tanfo springs, I suspect that might have something to do with increased resistance once the sear is involved.
  17. There have been all kinds of workable ideas how the classifier system could work discussed in this thread, but the OP asked how it does work; a question which has been answered, but none of those answers seem consistent with the results which we can all see. Others have commented that it doesn't matter, and that a big deal is being made of nothing, or that the means don't matter to them so long as they're happy with the ends, which is all well and good, but I believe some of us, myself included, are curious how the HHFs are determined? The more distraction from the question and derision towards those asking, the more curious I become.
  18. Are all of you using the reduced power trigger return spring from CGW?
  19. The mags are the same, but the grips are not. The 97B uses a long hammer spring down the back strap of the grip so there's more meat back there. In theory you should be able to take some material off the back if the grips and make them fit, but out if the box they'll hang off the back of the Witness.
  20. Yes. Obviously it depends on the bullet profile, but ironically my small frame 9mm Open gun can load 124s to 1.165"+ no problem and my Gold Team upper could only load the same bullets to 1.135".
  21. It's a sickness, and with it comes the irresistible urge to buy every good deal which pops up in the Classifieds.
