  1. Sounds good! I have a handful of 165 LRN I plan to load minor with some Clays.
  2. I had a V12 9mm for a short time and these were my impressions: -too many barrel holes for 9mm -too few ports in the comp (two small top ports, no side ports) Because of these issues the setup needs 9-10 grains of powder to shoot flat. It shot like a dream with 10gr of SP2 and a 100gr bullet, but the minimum bullet weight for Major in USPSA is 112 and 120 for IPSC, besides that load only made 152PF! With a 124 it took 8.4gr of HS6 to barely make Major with a short OAL, that's a high pressure load so I don't think the barrel lugs of any pistol would survive that very long. I think the V12 could make a good shooter in 38 (although you'd be burning a TON of powder shooting Major), but you need to stick to minor if you want the 9 version to last.
  3. I've never been real keen on tall sights so when I started shooting Open I used a sideways CMore; I don't know why anyone uses anything else!?! Except my first stage (where I forgot to turn it on) the dot is always there.
  4. I only have one extended mag release for the small frame Witnesses so I bought one of each of these 1911 style paddles to experiment with: Unfortunately I broke a part on my drill press so that project is in a holding pattern.
  5. CZ USA sells that plug much cheaper than CZC if I remember correctly.
  6. That's funny, I wrote 4.0, then changed to 4.5 after checking the Hodgdon load manual for some similar data. With a light enough recoil spring the gun should cycle, but I was worried about tumbling.
  7. 4.5gr of WST should be a good place to start; I never got SWC to cycle through my Tanfo.
  8. So does yours shoot flatter? Have you compared either to the V12?
  9. Yes please. Are they 9 or 38? Are there holes in your dad's barrel?
  10. You could use the CZC magwell, you'll likely need to make modifications to the frame or the magwell, but it's designed for use with the 18rnd SP01 tubes; standard length tubes will not work without substantial modifications to the pads and mag well.
  11. Kyal, tell us more!!! The both look like large frames, but they both have long slides right? V8 Gold Team?
  12. Yes, I've shot it like that, but not many rounds. Gigglemonkee has his set up that way and he has some rounds down the pipe at this point, you should ask him.
  13. There are a few parts which effect the fit of the safety: sear, hammer and obviously the safety itself; because of stacking manufacturing tolerances your particular Shadow seems to have a loose safety engagement. As long as it does it's job while the hammer is cocked you have nothing to worry about. Besides, you don't use the safety in production anyway.
  14. Nothing in your field? Or nothing in a close proximity with comparable pay and benefits?
  15. For what it's worth I had a tricked out Shadow, sold it for $1,500 and bought a new SP01 for $625; my Shadow was awesome, but I just wasn't worth all the extra dough.
  16. Yes, the CZ FPB spring is compressed during the trigger stroke while the Tanfo spring is relaxed. Trying a heavier spring has been on my list of stuff to try (albeit fairly low).
  17. Grumpy, if the brass at your company are soulless monsters who don't care about anything or anyone, why have you worked for them so long?
