  1. Yes, a 'hot' 9mm+P+ is in the 150-160PF range whereas most shooters are loading 9 Major in the 175+PF range with very different powders. Like was mentioned above, slow powder and a relatively light bullet are what you're looking for. HS-6 is a popular powder with Glock guys; Silhouette and AutoComp are good too. The OAL is limited to ~1.145" in a Glock so I think you'll get the best results with 124gr bullets. 115s might be flatter (and more violent), but with a bigger powder charge at that short OAL you might be asking to tear that plastic frame apart.
  2. Yes, I took a little meat out of my mag well where the back of the pads hit. The bullet shaped sanding bit for the Dremel works nicely and SLOWLY!
  3. This is the one to drop into your .40 TS slide and shoot 9mm: http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/047004940706_Barrel-Tactical-Sport-9mm When I first built the 9mm upper for my TS I tried to get away with using .40 mags, I even tuned the feed lips to 9mm specs, but alas, I now have two sets of mags.
  4. Are you planning to use that 6" barrel in a .40 slide? Unfortunately it won't fit; the .40 barrels are all 14mm OD. As far as 9mm out of .40 mags: they would upchuck a round straight up at least once per mag.
  5. None for me, I've got projects coming out my ears
  6. CZ Open dreamers: CZ USA has the 6" barrel for the 9mm 75 in stock for $145! http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/0420649201_Barrel-6--9mm To clarify, as I understand, this is for regular 9mm 75Bs, not for SP01s, Shadows or Tactical Sports. The 9mm 75B uses a barrel with an OD of 12.75mm, whereas the others I mentioned above (and others) use a barrel with an OD of 14mm.
  7. I have a bunch of wooden grips for the small frame Witnesses which could be glued together and recountoured at the edges pretty easily.
  8. Different extractors, different breech faces: http://shop.cz-usa.com/SearchByKeyword?word=04200663
  9. Thanks - I've only got 1# of AC coming, was more a 'it's here, get the most I can from Hazmat + shipping,' vs 12# of Silhouette. I guess I'll see what there is to see on both the WAC and Silhouette, and possibly be on the lookout for a local trade of 8# of the Silhouette as it's in 4# jugs, if I'm unhappy w/it. Trade it all to an Open shooter for some Clays, WST, Titegroup, etc.
  10. I'm guessing you're not shooting a compensated pistol?
  11. Unfortunately the Match dovetail is a Novak style and has a larger dovetail than the others. It is the same size (or close enough to it) as the Baby Eagle II rear and the newer Witness steel pistols:
  12. Does anyone have an extra Match rear sight rolling around their parts bin?
  13. You answer your own question As long as the price reflects the mileage, anything can be a good deal; what constitutes a 'good deal' is subject to the buyer's willingness to tweak, tune and replace parts. If someone buys a gun and just doesn't like the way it balances, points or shoots, it will likely take them less than a thousand rounds to figure that out; in that case, I'd be willing to pay nearly retail depending on the rarity, or wait time for a new one (some people are willing to pay more than retail to get their hands on it immediately, possibly avoiding sales tax), I'd say the next bracket is the 10K-30K rounds used pistol which should be worth 60-80% of a new one, depending on fit and finish. Personally, I consider a pistol with more than 30K rounds on it a project, which I would expect to tinker with and replace some parts before I got it running just right. I'd want a pretty good deal on such a pistol (read half price or better).
  14. Yes, you can cut full length grips to fit; I use the rubber grips from the SP01.
  15. Yes, I just saw there's better than half a dozen TSs in 40 on GunBroker.
  16. That's what I suspected, thanks for confirming.
  17. Jack raises an interesting question: are variations in velocity due primarily to the temperature of the powder or the temperature of the barrel? I suspect the former.
  18. Some comments above noted USPSA is a for profit organization, does anyone know for sure? If it is, does anyone know who the shareholders are?
  19. 1lb, 9oz with what I think is an 18 or 20# hammer spring. With a super light hammer spring the pull is light, but mushy. I actually have a 24# spring I've been meaning to try. The heavy spring makes it snap with authority.
