  1. Most commercially available 9mm ammo is in the 120-130PF range, +P and +P+ is a little hotter with a few brands up around 150PF, but with a minimum PF of 165 most Open shooters run their 9Major loads in the 170-180PF range. Any gun subject to that abuse will wear out parts, the only question is "how long?"
  2. The best advice I've read to taylor your pistol is this: take careful aim then fire two shots as fast as you can, don't reaquire the sights; if the second shot is high, you could benefit from a heavier recoil spring, if the second shot is low the muzzle us dipping as the slide returns to battery so try a lighter one. This method takes into account your particular grip strength and pistol/load.
  3. The reduced pak would be good, I think the B springs have a taper at the end, but the TS has no block, so I would go with the non B. I think you'd really need to get the slide/rails polished up to get it to function with a 9# spring, but 10 and 11 worked well for me.

The longitudinal dimention of the mag well may be 1/4" larger than the corresponding dimension of the magazine - Appendix D4, 22.4 The rulebook is only 108 pages and is available for free download at USPSA.org so there isn't much reason not to give it a once over every so often.
  5. I don't see that anyone said it above, but old mags have the spacer in the front while the new ones have a spacer in the back.
  6. Wolff springs is a good source for springs (gun springs.com). As far as the tennis arm, I see a Czechmate in your future
  7. Jayjay, Are you reloading? What about your recoil spring/hammer spring? There are some less invasive ways to reduce felt recoil you might want to check off the list before you start chopping up your prized pistol If you want to try adding some weight to the slide I have a TS rear sight I drilled and tapped for a slide racker. ETA: how's your grip strength?

Like big fish said, the Shadow pistols are the top end, race ready CZs with extended safeties/mag release and target sights; your stainless frame will accept the Shadow parts but the standard B frame has a one sided safety and different style mag release. Aside from that the actions can really benefit from the polishing of internal parts. Here's a link to a good picture thread: http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=42537.0
  9. I'm not too good with the part numbers. I might be selling my Match, but if not I'll send you mine to try; if you like it you can send your fixed sight back in trade.
  10. If anyone has a extra fixed rear from a BEII I'd love to play with it and report back
  11. No, I measured it, but ended up selling my Poly Jericho before I got the chance.
  12. Xander, the EAA Match adjustable rear will work and I'm pretty sure it sits lower than the LPA.
  13. A word to the wise: most things heard in a LGS are partly or completely bullshit You can count on the OWNER of the gun shop to give you a reliable answer to a question about the policy of that particular shop, but anything more than that should only be considered a primer for your own research. As a certifiable gun nut, I've been in quite a few gun shops and it's astounding some of the stupid crap you'll overhear
  14. You're such a pusher CD! I can appreciate a man not spending money he doesn't have. There will come a time...
  15. I don't want to be labeled an international arms dealer, but I've helped a few members get parts abroad. Send me a PM with the stuff you're looking for.
  16. I think they're geared toward USPSA/IPSC and there isn't an advantage to shooting 10mm in the games.
  17. The screw size is 3.5mm (#6 washer) The Shadow comes with a standard TRS, but I highly recommend a CGW RP TRS, it's good for about 8oz reduced pull weight.
  18. Yes, although in my experience CZ hammers tend to fit with CZ safeties without any modifications. Race hammers tend to tighten up the safety a bit, but usually still within the range of function. The most trimming I've done is when fitting a CZ hammer to a Tanfoglio.
  19. Different hammers have hooks cut to different depths, placing the sear in a different position when cocked. I have often had to re fit the safety after changing hammers. Take a look at this stock SP01 hammer vs the CZ factory race hammer:
  20. I undercut the trigger guard of mine, but I've been tempted to attack the checkering inspired by this one: http://www.strictlyipsc.com/gear.htm
  21. I hear 3N38 is very similar, but I've never tried it. I load SP2 on a 550 and it works great however it does leak some fine dust past the powder bar.
  22. Wow! Tell us about the checkering on the back strap, was it recut?
