IPSC and IDPA are games with different rules and different intents. For me they are both fun, practice, serious adventures in something that I love and something that may (hope not) help me in a situation I don't want to be in but will have the skill and knowledge to handle.

Amsoil synthetic, Been using 5w-30 but might try the gear lube. Nice tip!

I feel for you, such friendship is always difficult to loose, I have had many "friends" and always cherish the time they have allowed me to have with them. I dread the day my 15 year old Amber must also pass to where ever it is they go. Until then I will continue to be grateful.

Might be two years old but always good reading. I have opened my port and filled and polished the lifter but haven't done anything to the shell release. When you say bend it backwards is that into the opening or toward the reciever wall?

Bought a Nordic 18 rifle length gas. haven't gotten to the range with it yet, but I'm anticipating a smooth soft shooting rifle...soon

I recently bought a tactical on the recommendation of my trusty "Smith". This was before the announcement of the competition. I am planning on doing some 3G this year and have enjoyed going threw this forum and all the great information! I would say it all depends on when you need or want to use it and what your budget is.

I did my Versamax with a dremel and a carbide HS burr. The trick to the dremel is go against the rotation. If you go with the rotation it will dig in and cause the wave.

Been shooting IPSC since the early eighties, love it, IDPA lately, as long as I'm shooting it's all good. 3G (I've been warned) is contagious, I'm infected. Thanks to all who responded. Did the same, the parts guy said it isn't even listed yet but to try back in a couple months. I didn't have the part number at the time I called.

Oh, first gen G20 its been around a while and made a lot of holes!

A good cleaning every so often, a little lube on the rails and bang bang bang.........What more could you want?

I've had an M8 since the early eighties, Love it! Not for sale though. Gearing up to shoot in IDPA this season.
