As I said in another thread, the pic in my profile was taken during our winter nationals.... We did hit -7deg C this winter, but it warms up to ±20deg C during the day....

From my "test" you get a much shorter total time when your splits and transitions are equal. A fast double sounds cool, but a steady stream of fire though out the whole CoF wins the game.

I'm one of the guys with 72-82 rounds on me when I start 2x18, 1x16, 2x15. One in gun, four on belt and stripper with at least 10 in pocket if no prone is required. And yes, due to brain farts/gun farts I have used them all with only 3 rounds on me at ICHDH.

I'm one of the guys who started with no speed or accuracy, got the accuracy then got the speed and then lost the accuracy.... Now I either need to slow down a bit and shot accurately again (which hasn't worked yet) or still go at my current speed and just learn to shoot accurately again. I'm currently on the last option since, as it seems with most, I shoot slower in matches than in practice....

I would shoot it for at least a couple of thousand rounds. If it doesn't jam then 99% of what should be done has been done. If it by then doesn't feel right, by all means polish and smooth it. If you see above normal wear during the first 1000 or so shots send it to STI. There is the fence sitting answer....

Been using rice for very long. The only problem I experience is that after about 3-5 batches the rice turns green and them starts to leave a gooey green sticky substance on the brass and in the bowl. At the price of rice I just clean out every three times. My tumbler is real small, so this might be a bit different with other tumblers. I recently also switched to a cleaner burning powder - will let you know if anything improves.... And I will try the brown rice...

Rhino, for your mini-sniper match, we have small plastic soldiers ±4-5com tall, which you guys should have over there as well. They sell in toy stores for many next to nothing. I used them for air-gun "sniping" up to ±50m (which gets real tricky). Put 'em on bricks at variable distances up to ±100m. Hit is 1 point a miss is zip, run it fixed time, say 2min for 10 targets...... Have fun.....

I play this game with my elbow at 45deg and I hunt with my elbow at 45deg...in both cases it seems fast and stable enough...MH 0.02

What Vince is trying to say, I think, is that even if OUR undisputed Open Division World Champion places his super duper open racer on its muzzle and magwell, steps back, assumes the position and the gun falls over he just DQ'ed himself, because he was not in control of his gun when it fell over/dropped to the table surface. He caused it to fall by not being safely in control at all times. Same as I would not be safely in control if I swing a perfectly safe, locked back, no mag, chamber flagged pistol through 90deg's. You may stand your gun upright, but you will be responsible for this action and have the burden of any consequences that might ouccur...
