  1. Used it on .......????????????????????
  2. Just one comment. New 8.2.6 A course of fire must never require a competitor to prepare a self-loading pistol with a round in the chamber and the safety not applied, if fitted with such by the OEM. I removed the "single action" and added the "..., if fitted....". There are CZ75 Model A's out there that work on the same "no FP block" as the 1911 so they should be treated the same way....which suddenly removes them from the Prod div as "legal" guns. The CZ'z safety will also not engage with the hammer down. The ...,if fitted..." part is for Glocks and likes.... I don't like "Condition 2" carry in any firearm, but you can not disallow it for a type of HG and allow it for another that is works the same way, but has another trigger mech... How about this: A course of fire must never require a competitor to prepare a self-loading pistol with a round in the chamber and the safety not applied, if fitted with such by the OEM, excluding Production Division starts.
  3. Build-up of dirt and gunk that negatively effects ignition reliability.
  4. Don't wish that. How will you live with yourself during each match if you hadn't. If its wrong, it must be corrected. Now, since you say you are a joking person - prove it!!!
  5. Such hard work keeping our rules relevant and up-to-date! As long as this has a positive effect on the next rules (Jan 2006???) I hope you all enjoyed it!
  6. Without seeing the pic, I can only comment on own experience. At all matches I have attended the equipment checks where done thoroughly and accurately (and always while having fun ). To date I have never encountered a situation where at any point I felt me or anybody else was treated unfairly due to inadequate equipment checks and controls. But thats just here in Africa....
  7. Dalmas, I can not see or access the image....
  8. Too true, but it is an "obvious" oversight and I don't think that it was meant as a DQ rule for "Mag in, empty chamber, holster" starts...still no excuse though... To have a round in chamber, hammer down on a SA is possible but highly improbable - do we need a rule to cover this? Like Neil suggested, maybe just a exemption for starts to the current rule and, to my untrained eyes, all bases appear to be covered...
  9. The guys in South Africa got a very easy system. They use carbon copy dot-matrix paper (yes, dot-matrix printers can still be found ). The nice thing about this is that you can go up to five pages total. They use 2 currently - orig to stats, copy to shooter. I would like 3 - orig to stats, 2nd stays with RO, 3rd to shooter...for the oops's and just-for-in-case scenarios. This paper is also cheap, the printer is cheap, the complete squad is delivered to the stages as on "piece" of paper, so nothing gets lost...works really good.
  10. We, uhm, how shall I say, uhm, ja, uhm....always ignored this rule on the SA's during start WHEN THE HAMMER WAS DOWN ON AN EMPTY CHAMBER with no thumb safety applied. The fools own prob to not know the condition for his gun during start. The rule is however strictly applied during the CoF. Vince, your proposal sounds perfect.
  11. Can it be any clearer than that? Shoot what you see, get scored for your hits. If you don't start the target thingy that disappears you gonna get hit by many penalties. It's easy, I think
  12. For 2005: - Win Std div nationally - Win Man vs Man competition - Top 3 overall national IPSC - Attend at least 3 international matches - Grow IPSC in Namibia by the same percentage I managed for 2004 (from 4-6 active members to over 30) - Raise enough funds to send 2 or 3 guys to WSXIV and to pay IPSC subs - Upgrade a range to host a Level IV shoot like the Africa Champs That should keep me busy for a while I think....
  13. In my case it wasn't the practise that made it better. I just forced myself to use it in the next match, the one practise session and the match thereafter. By the second match I was up by 10-15% of my usual score. For me it works....
  14. Now I can't wait to hear how ONE person is going to assemble that again....
  15. Just one comment... What I found helpful is if you, depending on your daylight, add another squad and have floating lunch break (in this case 45min) from ±10:30 to 15:00. This will ensure that you do not over-crowd your food stalls/kitchen/vendors/whatever and you can add another squad to the match without disruptions.
  16. We are looking for at least one bigger IPSC match to attend in Europe in 2005 as close as possible to Frankfurt, Germany - due to transport restrictions. If you have any suggestions or more detailed info and contact info, it will be highly appreciated. The IPSC calendar for 2005 is still a bit thin....
  17. Lets see. In 2004 BEF has taught me: My front sight controls my trigger finger My eyes control my transitions High HF do not come from speed alone (No Sh...T) To learn tolerance might be more difficult than to win an IPSC level IV or V match The mind has no place after "beeeep" Life in 2004 has taught me: All obstacles can be overcome It is a great gift to be able to receive a gift - often more difficult than to give one - think about it...
  18. My 0.02.... The TX bobber look real cool - a good shooting challenge and sensible exposures. The TX windmill would look good if the bottom half was covered with H/C - which would make it..............a TX bobber.... with different exposures. Then put the WM out at ±20m and hide sections of it and I'm willing to put money on it that a great lot of shooters will not recognise if they have shot at a target or not since they can not see holes. We're not a mem contest. The TX* (which has been discussed to death...) I think is OK if you have 2 horisontal plates. Any other config becomes too variable... We had a running windmill - 3 targets, often with PT's turning while "running"...needless to say it was scraped. Same with the plate hidden behind the A-zone of a target to act as activator....Too much a a guessing/luck game than a real repeatable challenge.
  19. Illegal stages yes - have seen quite a few.... These 3 rules make CoF designers think (new experience for me ) and CoF builder really work during building and debugging.
  20. At least they will all come down - just like the rest, only faster...
  21. After that Rhino is welcome to talk to my wife. She couldn't be safer....
  22. "His team calls him in to handle the Serious Stuff. The Really Serious Stuff. You know it's very Serious Stuff, because they capitalized the letters in the job description." This stuff too funny to be true....please tell me it isn't so.... (Tears all over desk with non-subsiding stomach cramps - ROFLMAOPM)
  23. Scary..... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- If all the above comes true, I'm happy. If I get the loan approved (and can afford it) for the house my wife wants, my Christmas will be perfect. (It even has a room for me... )
