  1. Ditch the 124's and use 115's with the HS-6 around 174pf. Night and day difference in the cheely comped gun I played with. I can tell you that your 124/hs-6 load kinda sucks with a brazos comp too.
  2. Buy a cheap butane pencil torch from harbor freight and get the screw hotter than what you've tried.
  3. I was loading mine out to 1.165 easily. Maybe get a hold of a throat reamer or send the barrel off and have a smith ream it.
  4. Primer would have fixed it the first time
  5. The screws were never loose. Cha-Lee has it right. In my case the sear spring would just barely get under the edge of the sear. If I took the grip off and reassembled everything would work fine until the grip moved enough. Even then It was hard to repeat the issue. You guys want to talk about my gunsmith, friend, "gunsmith" or whatever you want to call it. He was never asked to diagnose the problem. I asked him to do a trigger job and he did. In fact, he mentioned all along that he didn't think it was the ignition parts but did what I asked. I came here for ideas just not to constantly bug him while he's at school. But anyways the problem has been figured out and I learned quite a bit in the process.
  6. Thank you to the people that actually had helpful posts. It ended up being the grip itself. Everything is good to go.
  7. Steel comp- red 272 SS comp- primer and 272
  8. Go ahead and get the grams 9mm spring/follower kits and use spacers. After almost 3 years of shooting I still can't figure out why people hate the spacers so much.
  9. If you read around here you'll see that HS-6 and a 115 seems to be the hot ticket for a 9mm trubor. Precision delta bullets work great and you only have to buy 2k at a time.
  10. I'm hoping you guys can give me some ideas here. I just recently starting having intermittent hammer follow of my 2011 open gun. I went ahead and had all the ignition parts replaced since it was a month before the nationals. Old parts were all extreme and we replaced them with all EGW parts. I thought everything was fine but after about 1k rounds i'm back to the random hammer following. My gunsmith said the main spring cap was all chewed up and he hasn't seen that before. Also, I just took the gun apart and if I push the hammer against the firing pin on a closed slide there's no tension on the hammer strut. Thanks ahead for any help or ideas.
  11. Silhouette will be your best bet with 124's followed by autocomp. HS-6 is much better with 115's. I was running 7.7gr of sil with a MG 124 jhp
  12. PM me with your location. I have a local guy that does great work.
  13. Gas block not holding adjustment? Gas block moving? Not enough lube?
  14. HS-6 and a 115 is the best 9 major load i've felt so far. With a PD 115 i'm at 9.0gr
  15. Doubletap has a two sided black one. Cerakote would be the easiest route though. I've sprayed a few and they come out looking great.
  16. The PT and swenson are going to be much different than your current safety. It looks like you have a really low safety now. If are used to that and want to keep that part the same just look into the brazos thumb shield.http://www.1911store.com/thumbguardbcg.aspx
  17. Just remove the failsafe arm and the two pins holding the tool head. It's too easy just to dump the powder back into the correct container.
  18. PD 124JHP's shoot great for me. They are a slight bit faster than the MG's in my gun. Prob 10fps or so.
  19. No worries. The pink stuff has already been sprayed.
  20. Get the new one to me and I'll cerakote it.
