  1. Not to hijack the thread, but can you explain this? I thought stroking extended the travel of the slide, why would that require a shorter spring? I have a stroked gun being built and had never heard this before. Thanks!
  2. Absolutely! My friend Kasey Beltz of B&T industries created a method to attach his monopod on the ACE stock. He added QD sling attachments to fix the sling mounting solution too. Great product all around and it solves the problem beautifully. http://www.accu-shot.com/images/BT51-install-lg.jpg http://www.accu-shot.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=131
  3. How many get bumped up to Pro? Some real talent climbing in to the top this year. Andrew, Eric, Shiloah, and Matt are all serious contenders at any match they attend.
  4. Are you cashing checks as they come in? Sent our teams in a few weeks ago and haven't seen it deposited. Don't want to miss this one, it's my favorite match of the year!
  5. It would be nice to get a round count and some stage descriptions............just sayin. I don't remember them posting stage descriptions last year or a round count. There are usually options as to what you use to engage the targets, several "rifle or pistol" and "pistol or shotgun" targets in the stages. For me, unless it's a unique match that advertises a particularly high round count, I go with a standard load out of 250-rifle, 300-pistol, 150-7.5's, 50-9 shot, 50-high brass 6's, & 40-slugs. I always bring back ammo and I have plenty on hand to give out for people who didn't pack enough. The regionals last year were not exceptionally high round count matches. There may also be some side matches going on that you'll want to have a little extra ammo on hand for. I used the side matches to warm up and get over my "first stage jitters". Even though I knew I wasn't going to with the side match it was well worth $5 to get a quick run in before the match began.
  6. Pictures would help if you can replicate the problem. Lots of different schools of thought on oiling the the Benneli. I know that I caused an issue with my M2 by overlubing it with too heavy of a lubricant. You can look through my old posts and see a before and after video demonstrating what my over lubrication issue caused. After I cleaned out all the old lube and cleaned the recoil spring, I also started storing the gun barrel down to keep lube from accumulating back on the recoil spring. I've had far less issues out of the gun since I changed those things. Prior to that I was replacing springs, toying with spring weights and scratching my head as to what the real problem was. Hopefully your problem is a simple one too!
  7. That's great news! Awesome to see the sport continuing to grow and Remington continuing to support in such a big way. You certainly weren't kidding about having lots in store for 2015! Congrats to Mike Sexton too. Charles couldn't have made a better choice than Mike for the Match Director position.
  8. I've got one. I like it for a mid range rifle scope, kind of a "do-all" gun. I think there are better choices for 3-Gun, but there are certainly worse ones too. The illumination is good, the reticle is very good. The field of view is not so great at max magnification, but it is a higher mag than the 6x that I was comparing it to. It has a sensitive "eye box" at max mag, so you need to be very consistent with your cheek weld or you'll be chasing your zero a lot. I don't think the extra bump from 6x-8x is worth some of the downsides for 3-gun, for a general purpose AR it is a great scope. Feel free to PM me if you have specific questions.
  9. Took me about a year and a half to get my gear dialed in. Lots of buying and selling along the way! I don't think I'll ever be completely done tweaking my gear, but it's not a mad dash to get the right parts and peices anymore. That first year was EXPENSIVE!!!
  10. I don't know anything about these guns, but I'd like to. I've tried searching for a Sig 22 like this with no luck. No luck finding out who Tucker is either. Can someone point me in the right direction? I think I need one of these now for some reason...
  11. Very cool! Is that a full custom from the ground up, or a build based that started as something else? I'd like to know more about it.
  12. Fitting a front sight is very easy, but if you are dead set against it look at the Remington R1 Enhanced Stainless. I have one and it's a nice pistol. I got it with the intent of shooting a few local IDPA matches without really having to do anything to the gun. I would like to add a magwell and change the grips, but it really is ready to run right out of the box. It's not the best 1911 on the market, but it's not the worst and it fits what you're looking for.
  13. There was an email sent out this morning with round count and schedule. The schedule info was in an attachment. All pretty standard stuff, nothing shocking. You can PM me your email address if you want me to forward you the email.
  14. Only time that it's happened to me was when one of my trigger pins worked loose during a match. I never believed anti-walk pins were neccesary until that happened, now I won't go without them.
  15. I ran everything from cylinder to Improved Modified. IM was on stage 4 and it worked well. That was really the only stage that went according to plan for me! No slugs... hmmm....
  16. Does anyone know a place that stocks one of these? Taking delivery of a 5.4" sight tracker soon and I'd like to have a holster on standby for it. It's a FDC tactical frame with PT aluminum grip. I'm running a Bladetech DOH now with my Edge and I'm happy with it. I don't need anything fancy. Even if there is someone that makes a holster for a 6" full dust cover, I can always modify it. I have a heat gun and I am not afraid to use it. Thanks!
  17. First shotgun only match for me. It was humbling. Key take aways: 12 round tubes and rear sights for slugs... When in doubt, choke up. A big THANK YOU to Daniel at Spectre Targets for stocking the prize table so well that I still managed to walk away with something I was very happy with.
  18. Last year they cashed the checks about two weeks before the match. I just had to cancel, so someone on the waitlist just got in!
  19. That address will get you super close. You'll go over some railroad tracks, pass a brickyard on the left and then see some sort of sign on the right marking a dirt road a mile or so later. Usually a target of some sort. When you turn on to the dirt road, be sure to obey the posted speed limit signs. You'll drive to the end of the dirt road and there will be a big storage barn, that's usually where the shooters meetings are. You can't miss it.
  20. I had a similar clearance issue and after grinding away on the gas block and handguard it still touched when I applied pressure to the handguard. I broke down and bought an SLR. It was a good purchase and I love SLR's products. Save yourself the hassle, don't grind anything. Give someone a deal on the JP block and get the SLR for a few dollars more.
  21. It is spread out, but you'll be able to drive to the stages and work out of your car. You may have a 50 yard walk to your shooting area, but that's about it. Woody's is a great facility.
  22. Did anyone do the matte finish in this first batch? I'd really like to see that one compared to the shiny finish.
  23. Looks good! Good luck at York. Nice spotting scope too! You have excellent taste.
