  1. Aglifter and Diehi, are you guys both running stock guns with no work done? If not, what set up are you running?
  2. The reason I would want to change them is that I am used to a 3-dot sight picture. After shooting Sig 226's with trijicons for so long, anything else is distracting. The brightness of a FO front sight is no problem. It's the solid black, blocky rear sight that gets me. For shooters brought up on 1911's, I'm sure the standard rear sight is great.
  3. Thanks for the photos. That helps a lot.
  4. My wife gets PISSED when I shoot .22 in the garage for practice...
  5. Just put in my order for a 4P from Canyon Creek Customs. I'm interested in the Truglo TFO sights and I'm considering asking for them on the build. Anyone have experience with them? I'm a military guy and have tritium sights on all my pistols. Not sure if it's really even necessary for a competition build. Fiber Optic sights are admittedly new ground for me. If any of you feel inclined to post photos of your setup, I sure would appreciate it!
  6. I just ordered the 4P. Funny how we usually know what we want to buy and look for validation from perfect strangers. This one did it for me: Not even sure who you are, but you sold me. Call Canyon Creek for your commission! Springfield is offering 30% off of accessories right now, so I ordered three more mags from them. That will give me enough for steel challenge, +1. I'll order the tuned 24 round mags when the time comes, no rush I guess. I'm going to start a new thread on sights now... I'm curious about the Truglo TFO's. Fun stuff. The wait begins!
  7. Check... I was looking at the nicer ones for running 3-Gun. I guess I will just get the regular mags and move up to the high dollar ones as I figure the game out a little more. The differences in 3-Gun and USPSA are making it tough for me to figure it all out. I really appreciate the advice.
  8. Great, thanks for clearing that up for me. $1250 for the pistol and $300 for four mags... Almost makes me want to jump in to an STI! $1550 all in for a top running production gun is doable. Hopefully I can get lucky and win a Limited pistol win the time comes! Thanks for all the advice. See you on the range.
  9. I believe I am sold on the Canyon Creek 4P. I'm a little confused over the difference between the 4P and the "Production Ready". Do the mods on the 4P put the gun out of production limits?
  10. I am just getting started in this sport and had the chance to try out another competitors XDM built by Canyon Creek Customs yesterday. I was very impressed by it. I've been shooting Sig 226's for 15 years now and I'm very comfortable with them, but need to move to something a little faster to be truly competitive. I'd like to stay in production class for USPSA, but also shoot 3-Gun with the same pistol. What smiths are turning out good XDM's? I'd like to look at all the options. I really like the features and feel of the XDM and it's a little more realistic for me right now than an STI while being more appealing than a built up Glock. Thanks!
