i know and buy form every mfg in the business. in our business (not 3-gun stuff) real world gear. i just shoot 3 gun for fun. u can NOT do any better than s/s/s/ they are the most patient/polite forget their names young ,lady and pop's are extremely nice if they dont have it u dont need it. price ?? great for todays market. remeber u can not sell below cost and make up for it in volume ask k-mart just go there and be done jjw

why wouldnt u want a collapasable stock for 3 gun last year at rock castle we shot out of a car. the stock colllapsed was better than an ace i have ace also but u cant shorten it for 1 stage i also shoot out of a lot of vehicles a lot. easier to do even with 11.5" bbl. must be a bitch with the long bbls u guys seem to need. what am i missing. jjw

years ago when my 3 gun shot gun was done 1988-89. porting was o.k. now it illegal in many of the bigger matches. my armorer who is highly trained on all weapons, EXCEPT shot guns. very small part of our work world. hinge busters only, doesnt want to weld the ports closed.. says the 1100 bbl will not take the heat. does anyone know of a big time shot gun guy here who can do it. i dont want to change bbl's as this was tuned to the reciever by chip mcormack and he ramped the feed ramp. has never JAMMED in 15 or so yrs for me i cut a bbl to 18 & had it choked great job. doen not shoot slugswell. would like have my old barrel back to shoot. better barrel. shoots slugs into 4" at 50 yds with factory choke. i shoot a lot fo mustang 3-gun at military private shoots. slugs are a part of all shot gun stages to 50 or so yds pls throw out what ever u have knowledge/rec of. tks jjw p.s.. can mail or bring to rock castle. do not need it till last week in october for a 3 gun at ft bragg.

ismi is the guy for all things longer bought 50 extended m&ps when i went to arrendo's aredondo said the stand spring worked. no it didnt ismi ran 50 for me (min order) never had 1 mal/f with a/d and ismi combo flawless in over 3 yrs. leave em loaded for months on web gear when working load 22 instead of 23 to be safe we carry +p+ speer 124. hope this helps jjw

useed to shoot a lot of s/c 10-12 big shoots a yr. i shot victory form greece. been shootng 3 gun for about 15 or so yrs. shot victory's the last 3 yrs. 1.oz only 71/2s at along stuff and steel same in 81/2's only 2 i needed at the last 2 rock castle. pro am had a stage at steel was at least 50 yds. i/m and 71/2's did just fine would not change a thing or reshoot 2 times free. ummv jjw

this may help: i use a s&b 1/4 ffp on my work gun have a t-1 mounted on a larure 45d angle ount. since its also my 3 gun rifle i use it a lot . love it, if u have to have 2 sights on ur gun. this is the best red dot going. not a fan of the concept but where i work i need a 500 yd sight and a 25 yd sight. i use a 14.5 d.d-1/7 and / or same in 12.5 2nd upper exactly alike. depending on where i am. love it for 3 gun but hey its only my life. not like it was as critical as a "big time" 3 gun set up. +1 he means have it fitted to your gun. shoot 10 rds u are gtg i carry 2 of everytihng mentioned. i dont carry "game guns" i carry a lt wt colt commander for social purposes 1 of the 4 guns we are allowed to carry for work is a 1911 by a "major mfg" i use a 5" colt with light and drop leg. f.y.i. we are only alowed colts/springfields/custom. (our money) anything else i would chew my leg off before holstering it for real world.

he does not own anything i am sure all military "issue". has paper work to carry off base.my work gun is a 11.5" my 3gun is a 14.5 with a s&b ffp. for real world work also just carry the upper at work carry 11.5 with m-4-s and pac-15 and can every day. 14.5 is a spr for me. good to 350 yards. for nasty things at nite with same can same frame ,nods same ammo. my required ammo is 75 gr tap so i am gtg inside 100 meters its 55gr for match. not as easy to get. works for me never have been to a match where a longer bbl would have made me shoot better. l.o.l. jjw 99.9% chance that is his gun. he is an e-5 pay grade dont think he's buying $ 3000 guns on a buck sgt's pay.if he is supplying the guns i would be very surprised. what about: the ammo shot guns pistols dont much think so but will ask him next time i am at amu.

if u are stating that as i read it u are wrong' u fill out 1 a year as a civialin and put in jan 1/2013--returning jan1/2014 and use for trg/matches/work and u are done. i dont have to as these are personally owned work guns. i a contractor but when i was just shooting 3 gun before 9/11 thats what i did. not problem. an atf examiner in w.va told me to do it. she was a match shooter and did it herself. (if i read it as u stated it) 1 form is gtg. its not a state form its a fed form. if c-3 is allowed, thats a states issue. u can travel thru. but cannot stay in non c-3 with them. like i would spend 1 dime there. eat-gas-piss. never get out of the car in 1. make damn sure i dont give them "nuttin" ask i am around. jjw

the only 2 i know of are larue and adm both pricey but worth it. i dont need EXACT RETURN just want to be with i-2" at old zero point. use them on allmy guns. my 3 gun ar is a 11.5" with a s&b 1x4-ffp. never take it off bad idea. dont now why people seem obsessed, with removing 101% working gear. if i am not changing something i NEVER take any scope/red dot off a weapon. run it under a hose to get the dirt/mud off, clean, lube, put it back in the gear locker till next day. i can get by with 1-2" if i have to in my work. 1-2 m.o.s. is just fine. i have 28 rds to get the job done. doesnt seem to bother me in 3-gun but i am not a contender due to injuries in the sandbox. just like to play. good luck jjw

Steel must be reactive (or have called hits) for all of the calibers that are used by all competitors regardless of division. If you run a reactive target that is designed to react to the hit of a HM rifle, you are unlikely to have it react when it is hit with a .223. Sure you could set out separate targets for the heavy and lite guns so everyone can be even, but that doubles your cost on steel and set up / maintenance. As for modifying scoring so you can run the heavy and lite guns together, it has been my experience that you will still be at a disadvantage with the heavy gun. Some matches offer a "Heavy Tactical" division where you run the same pistol and shotgun as TO. The only "heavy" thing about them is the rifle has to be a 30 cal with a minimum PF. One well known match does this and for that division paper target scoring is modified to 1 hit anywhere to neutralize the target. The issue is torque and recoil. The heavy gun will always push you around more and be harder to swing in transitions. One shot paper scoring seems advantageous for the heavy shooter as they only have to fire one shot instead of two, but the increased recoil slows down your transitions between multiple targets. Recoil is also an issue when shooting at steel targets. If you miss with a heavy gun, recovery for a second shot is substantially slower that with a lite gun. A properly set up TO rifle will display minimal movement if the shooter has a sound shooting position. You will see more movement with the same shooter in the same position using a HM rifle. I am a fan of the heavy guns since I first attended Rocky Mountain 3 Gun in 2005 with borrowed He-Man gear. I choose to shoot He-Man or Heavy Metal because of the distinct challenges that you are faced with, but I still want to be competitive. With the dwindling turnout of HM shooters in recent months I am reluctantly shooting TO at more matches this year than HM. I go to matches to compete and have fun, but if I show up to shoot HM and the division doesn't have enough shooters to be recognized, I will be at a disadvantage shooting the heavy gear in another division. I am thrilled that JJ and Denise have put together the He-Man Nationals and we had a decent turn out of dedicated He-Men last year. I look forward to the end of the month when I get to see them again an meet some new recruits. Kuan good post hey guys i can build anything i want regadless of any limitations on gear sitting on 2k in hornady tap ammo for .308. here is a thought for u big time giuys why not build a simple light .308 good to 500 yds parts are avaiable mags are working fine (have 40 something flawless running. ammo is cheap ever try to buy match grade 168 gr for 200.00 a cs works with all red dots' .308 cans u have aready work fine. (still noisy lil beast) buy 95% of the parts on any street corner more available when this b/s polotics is over no dislikes. lots to like shooter gets to the longer targets he either shoots the .556 steel or the 7.62 steel. nothing else changes dont need a bunch of snarky cracks . POLITE INPUT will work just fine if not logical i am open to passing but i dont see why with out a lot of input by KNOWLEDGEABLE shooters thnks for taking it this far. jjw
