  1. Have plenty on N320 (plus some E3, WST, Clays) for Limited and Prod shooting. Thinking about an Open gun in 9mm major, but I think I need to make sure I can secure some powder for it first.
  2. Did you buy Chris' Akai???? I was very close to grabbing that thing. ;-)
  3. I'll definitely have to catch up with you at one of the matches and check it out.
  4. Running a Lee Turret (mostly for case prep stuff and some low volume rifle) and a Loadmaster. Both run great for me. I did a couple of upgrades on the Loadmaster - inline fab roller handle and some CNC turrets w/ adjustable stops from Mike's Reloading Bench (get very consistent OALs with these - also has a hole to set a cheap mini LED flashlight that lights up the cases very well - like the free HF light). Bought the Loadmaster initially just to test the progressive waters on the cheap, I'll probably get another one now when a good deal comes back up.
  5. Minor 40 loads can be competitive in production - no big disadvantage there IMO.
  6. yeah, but don't you think you would shoot faster if you did not have to worry about counting the rounds? Seems this would only be true for the last target. What would keep you from shooting an extra shot at an early target and then come up short on the last target? Still a penalty for too many shots on that early target (I believe) and loss of points on that last one.
  7. I do the same thing with prescription glasses - left lens focused for distance and right lens focused on the front sight. I'm also right handed, left eye dominate and I just put a small piece of frosted tape on the left lens - just enough to obscure my vision when I focus on the front sight. I can see the targets when I look down range and the front sight is crisp when I focus there. I will say it took a while to get used to shooting with that set up, but I think it's starting to feel normal now during a match.
  8. I thought the same thing until I tried it. If you're loading on a progressive it really makes the operation a lot smoother and the everything seems to come out a lot more consistent as well. When using Hornady One Shot I just leave the light lube on the finished rounds, might even help with chambering.
  9. When I was shooting the Glock 24 for Limited I had no issues loading out to 1.150 - chambered reliably and and I could get 20 rounds in the mag with Dawson pads (they were tight so I ran 19 for all mags after the start).
  10. This is the exact set up I recently went to. It did take a bit of getting used to, but I think it's starting to work pretty good for me now. I had to tape the left lens a bit just because I'm left dominant and shoot right - I have to do this to all my shooting glasses. Although these new prescription glasses make my right eye pick up the front sight quicker than normal glasses, it's instantaneous every time once I obscure the left lens a bit.
  11. gone. I did get 16lbs delivered today from a couple weeks back.
  12. Ouch. I just got 16lbs for about $100 more than that - including shipping & hazmat!!!!!!
  13. IMHO, If you rely on ANYTHING except your own eyes to validate a powder drop before placing a bullet you will eventually experience a powder related issue.
  14. I was getting 167pf in mine with 4.25gr WST and the older coating BBI 180s loaded to 1.150 That was with a LW barrel.
  15. Which press? That is way too much OAL variance IMO. I get about .003 max using a LLM with Lee dies. I would pull all the dies apart to make sure there wasn't something going on there first.
  16. Got 16lbs as well :-) Should be covered for at least a year (4lbs going to another shooter).
  17. The USPSA asks not to game classifiers so I don't.
  18. In my experience, most .40 shooters load 180gr projectiles - including myself. Some prefer the snappier recoil of 165gr bullets, but that seems to be a small minority in my shooting sphere. A few even like to go up to the 200gr bullets.
  19. I have a KJW 6" hicapa and it is only a couple ozs lighter than my 6" Limited gun - with empty mags.

    Fishing

You fishing next to a nuclear plant? I caught a 12" bluegill once and thought that was huge.
  21. Well it actually gets closer to 200MPG and is a 47hp diesel + 27hp electric. Kinda cool, but that diesel would have about 3hp left once the EPA raped it. All the comforts on an enclosed go-kart w/o AC - I'll pass. Not sure there's a big market for essentially a GM EV1 copy that costs about $120k. Buy a $20k compact and that extra $100k will buy a lot of gas.
  22. Weird, the (at least) 10 y/o used 2011 jam-o-matic I picked up here in the classifieds runs 100% - my brand new custom 2011 is still trying to get to that point.
