  1. I have been using 200 gr Cast with N320 loaded long and like them a lot. I am not saying there is a huge difference in the same with 180 though. Opinion seems to go back and forth on that one.
  2. I have a 6" Edge and it is HEAVY! the slide has been lightened to weigh the same as a standard 5" Unique slide but the frame is a lot of weight at the end of the gun. It shoots nice but I find I transition from target to target slower than my 5" guns. In hind sight I would have done the 6" on a short frame.
  3. Dawson has a grip tape glue as well.
  4. Just got my DVC Limited in 40 and it came with 2 -140's. That is straight from STI. It looks great we will see how it shoots this weekend.
  5. No printer but you can hook the unit or the SD card into your computer and download all of the shot data into an Excel spread sheet. Very easy to read and analyze your data this way.
  6. We took it out last night and shot rifles with it and learned a few things. It seems to do better at picking up longer ranges with newer batteries in the unit. Also it will do 30 Cal boatails to somewhere around 80-90 yds. and 22 Cal boatails somewhere around 50yds or so. I did have to make some adjustments for 22 LR. we set it to Handgun velocity and Doppler trigger and it worked perfectly. Also go figure the batteries had died from the unit being left on so I plugged it in the 12V micro USB phone charger in the truck and it ran flawlessly. I have heard that they should be available sometime around July. I am sure that a few changes in the firmware from these first test units will be made that should make them even better. From what I have been told they should be available sometime around July.
  7. I was fortunate enough to get a test unit of the new Labradar chrono last week and was able to take it to the indoor range over the weekend and test it out. My first thoughts are this thing really impressed me, even though I had some high expectations from such a long wait. It was easy to set up and adjust. I didn't have any trouble using it on the range with other people shooting as well (there are adjustments for this). The only thing that I noticed was it missed a few of the velocities down range every now and then. I am going to get out this week after work and try it with rifle and bow to see how it performs with them. I know the price is going to be up there on these $560 I think but it is loaded with features and is by far the easiest chrono to use. No waiting for the line to clear to set up and adjust your chrono. No shooting the screens off etc.
  8. Yes I Added the slide racker as well.
  9. It could be a parts gun the frame has a custom serial # but I have never seen a Unique slide Eagle. I added the SV trigger to it and refinished the gun. Thanks for the heads up on the basepads and tubes. I had no idea that Dawson used to make basepads like that.( I much prefer the new style for ease of takedown)
  10. Any info would be helpful. I refinished it and did some other things to it. It was in really rough shape when I got it but it looks and shoots great now. I have no idea when the gun was made but it says Austin Tx not Georgetown like my others and has a STI logo I have never seen before.
  11. I bought an old STI that says Eagle 5.1 but is a long wide frame? It came with 4 mags that I can not identify. I will post some pics but I can't tell if I have old STI or SVI magazines for this gun. It will not drop the STI mags I have for my other gun free. Also not sure what kind of base pads they are. They attach with 2 pins similar to the Grams but not the same. Maybe someone that has been doing this longer can tell me exactly what I am working with. Thanks, -Jarrod.
  12. The PTG reamer at midway does work very well for not only cast but also for longer OAL rounds as well.
  13. They will but the witness holes will be of little use.
  14. More in today Just an FYI
  15. Midway has quite a few CCI and some Winchester primers in stock
  16. I did use some L shaped steel brackets to mount my bench to the studs in the wall to make it super sollid.
  17. Lee U die and Hornady seating die.
  18. I really like the reliability and ease of cleaning on the M2
  19. You can find load data for international in a lot of popular calibers. That being said they may not get you the desired velocities in some calibers. Clays is known to have spikes in pressure at the top end of the loads so little things like OAL and crimp can make a max load go over max pressures. This is a concern with most any max loads anyhow. Just be safe.
  20. The wife used to load when we had a 550 but is a little intemidated by the LNL with the case and bullet feeder on it. She is an excellent bullet caster however, much better than I. If we cast she fills the molds and I open them and hand them back. If I am loading ammo she will box it up. It is nice quality time togther. I even put a old recliner in the reloading room so she can read on her Kendel thing if there is no ammo to box.
  21. The RCBS Gold Medal Seater Die is awesome for these small bullets. I would pay 2 times as much for another now that I have used them.
  22. I was able to get the 185 45 cal XTP but I turned mine in in January and it was 8 weeks or so.
  23. Wow a 6" tri topped sight tracker that is cool. Awesome work.
  24. Let it soak in the Kroil for atleast 24hrs. then start working on it. The kroil gets between the lead and the barrel and loosens it right up.
  25. They look really good hard chrome and it is a tough finish.
