Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Just be patient with the classifieds. I got my open off here and couldn't be happier. It started as a used trubor and now it's what I want. I've tinkered and have found out what I want on the gun and will order an custom sometime in the future related to my current trubor. Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk
  2. You might try changing your recoil spring to something lighter than stock. I'm running an 11lb spring but my ammo is somewhat hot, although the gun shoots amazingly flat.
  3. You can definitely run a 2011 in idpa. The marauder would be a good place to start, brings it will be the identical platform your used to. And a benefit of getting the 40 would be making major in USPSA.
  4. I guess if your worried enough about your brass go with 9. I shoot super comp and haven't had a problem picking it, at least where I shoot if your not pasting or running score your helping police the shooters brass as a courtesy. I think it's just the name of the game where I'm from though as I know it's easier to find brass in sand than in rocks and grass.
  5. The only big benefit of esp from ssp is shooting a single action gun like a 1911. If your shooting it regularly, you have probably tinkered with your gun in some way, there's a ton of people that have added some kind of trigger kit to guns that I shoot with, and hardly anyone that's running a completely stock gun. I guess the biggest part for me is esp I ever so slightly more competitive for bigger matches.
  6. I don't have mine back yet, but I just went to check it out. Here's a pic my smiths facebook My gunsmith made it work, and did a phenomenal job.
  7. I would say it's subjective to the S.O. And how they wanted to call the stage. To me a port has to be wide enough for someone's body to be exposed on both sides. Those looked more like small holes to me. At least 50% of his upper body was behind cover
  8. If I was going to do it again, I would go with a ck arms or full custom. I just like to tinker and and through that I've found out what I like, and didn't like. For instance I don't like how the thumb/Beaver tail safeties felt, the trigger group, or the mag well that came on my crp. I probably spent more time and money trying stuff to see what was right for me when in fact it might have been cheaper to go with a custom or semi-custom like the ck.
  9. There's really no difference drawing a standard size m&p and the 5". I see simple stuff like this taken way out of proportion. Best thing you can do is choose what you want, and become proficient with it. Personally I shoot a 5" 1911 in 9mm, would I shoot a 4.25? Possibly. I don't see any different outcome in the way I shoot. Like many have said. It's the Indian, not the arrow. Hope this helps.
  10. Must have never heard of Gary Natale. I use to laugh at the folks waiting that long. Never waited more than a couple weeks, ever. Too bad he retired. I believe he came out of retirement again. If I had the money for another build, it would probably be going to him
  11. I got the one that IDPA sold on their website a long while back before they were crazy overpriced. It is a good concealment vest no doubt. I hear great things about the Armadillo Concealment vests, as you can specifically get it fit for your body at the same price the vest from the IDPA. If I was going to get another one, that's the way I would go.

I really don't know if this girl is being serious, but I got a kick out of it. (does contain explicit language....) I also don't know how to upload a youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBDQiMOsdLY
  13. Just means the grip that is attached to the gun can be stippled. I've used all kinds of grips for idpa that were very simular to the extreme shooters grips, never been told anything.
  14. As a lefty, this safety has the most positive feel over the sti and ed brown that have been installed on my gun.
  15. Having a Doctor as a father, and 2 siblings that are Mech/Civil engineers... this made me laugh.
