  1. I get it. I really do... I see all your points to use everything PractiScore.. and I like it... But many ranges around here don’t have power in the bays... and still use nooks This weekend I had 5 different long term competitors tell me they couldn’t figure out the registration for a major and on a squad of 9 we had only 3 people that could score on the tablet. Over time all those that are not computer/tablet literate will be out of the sport. Until then, we have to realize we are an entertainment industry and if shooters want paper briefings we as highly tech savvy need to realize we can’t program our way out of it. In your plan what do you tell that competitor that can’t get the WSB on their flip phone? Or can’t read without special glasses? Customer service is what makes a large part of a major match work. I don’t like a competitor handling the scoring tablet at a major.. period... you may have missed a minor issue in our area with a problem with that...
  2. I may be in the minority here... But I would prefer to have a paper hard copy... Here are my reasons: 1. Weather— protect the tablet as much as possible 2. Battery life— depending on the tablet this could affect its life during the match. 3. RM changes to the WSB.. this becomes more difficult with the electronic version... is there a change log on the tablet? 4. RO readability- it may be harder to read it on the tablet.. sun light, font size... 5. Competitors handling the tablet at a major. I don’t want to have this happen. What could go wrong right? Just a few reasons... And yes I get why there are reasons for it on the tablet... just don’t think it is a good idea...
  3. The rule is- 9.5.5 Enlarged holes in paper targets which exceed the competitor’s bullet diameter will not count for score or penalty unless there is visible evi- dence within the remnants of the hole (e.g. a grease mark or a “crown” etc.), to eliminate a presumption that the hole was caused by a ricochet or splatter. So it would be a Mike.
  4. Bill Duda has a target cover you can use.... also for stuff like swingers.... hairspray will add water resistance
  5. Service level agreement... They are typical terms to say something will be fixed in x period of time.
  6. I forwarded this thread to the folks at PS! I like #1 a lot!
  7. Yea. It was posted in a BOD meeting minutes release and in front sight....
  8. Must be fixed securely about the waist.... Doesn’t have to be thru 3 loops anymore... but there is a little 2 in rule....
  9. Yes that is what the discussion was about.....
  10. There is a single PDF that has all the changes in it that can be printed and fits in the current rulebook. This will be posted on USPSA soon. This PDF has all the rulings, appendices that were changed, and the PCC addendum with a table of contents. A new greenfield rule book is due out 2nd qtr (mid summer) with all changes. Mike has mentioned it a couple times... Before you say this was not mentioned anywhere you are right... I took it on myself and did it, then shared with the RM Corps and the shooters on my email list. It has also been shared a few places on FB. Just waiting for HQ to post it up.
  11. The staff will be polite, professional and watching for all the typical things... pair up with an experienced competitor and listen... if you have questions , other than how to shoot a stage, talk to the ROs or call the RM.. this match is 2 months prior to nationals... so you should see some serious competitors, don’t try to run their plan... be safe, have fun, and I’ll see you at the safety briefing! I missed the 2016 and 17 A8 matches, but like Arnold said... I’ll be back...
  12. Remember there was a ruling in 2015 regarding the definition: Here is a screen shot..
  13. Email support@practiscore.com. They have a means of helping... This has happened before.
  14. So I asked the questions and got a reply— the member lookup feature is coming. “This was only a soft rollout.... “. Forum will be back ... with major upgrades....
  15. Welcome! Lots of stuff going on in NC... 12 clubs and lots of matches. Check out the Section Facebook page when you can if you are on Facebook.
  16. Did you configure network connectivity with blue stacks? If yes just sync it. It not install network connectivity and then sync it....
  17. I neglected to add this earlier---
  18. 2.1.1, 2.1.4 and 2.1.8 do not mention or specifically state that targets cannot be placed inside the shooting box or area. But they do mention locating them in any way that might cause an unsafe action. However 9.1.4 covers reshoots when pasters have fallen off. So in this case a target while in the shooting area where a target can place a muzzle on the target is technically legal it can create significant problems with a stage. And this falls back on principles of stage design to prevent problems with the stage. These are covered in the CRO course. In the end, as a stage designer you COULD do it. But you can also put a target at 179.8 degrees and be legal. But why? Troy's first rule is don't be a dick. This comes down to what will make a good match, a good stage and a good shooting challenge. Reshoots on a stage like this will be growing as the target is shot at more and more. At a level 2 and higher, this would likely be caught well before the stage hits the ground and changed. I don't see a point in doing it or a challenge....
  19. Brad, every RO should have a copy of all rulings with their rule book. The rulings are clarifications of the rules or rulings that can change a rule.
  20. FFZ free fire zone? That is not a good idea. And then you have angles to consider along with shoot thrus or ground impacts with ricochets etc... Open shooters blowing pasters off, PCC might put a muzzle thru a target that has been shot uo... Lots of little gotchas. Can you expound on your idea a little more? Thanks!
  21. Fredericksburg VA and Sir Walter in Raleigh NC. Check out the map on practiscore. There is a cool new search feature.
  22. The 180 violation should be blocked by barrels..or walls. Check rule 2.1.4..
  23. I'm working on a solution with APs and smaller than car batteries to sell. Once I get a shipment of a new model of APs in I can test it.. Right now I have 2 expensive APs that cover up to 600 feet. And "mesh" together. With a little magic sprinkled in you could actually live update scores to PS as you sync them..... This solution will run on 24 volts or AC power but the batteries are the size of a small bag of cookies(think Girl Scout cookies) There is the ability to put batteries and a solar panel to gather and mesh it out. Mesh is a technology where the APs talk on one radio and use a second radio to serve clients(think PS tablets) My goal is to be able to have a complete system to box up and ship you and you add batteries... With up to 6 radios you should be able to cover a 5 square acre range..... with proper placement. A few caveats will apply.
