STI lost me a long a time ago with a 6 inch .45 Trojan that sheared off it's barrel lugs in less than 500 rounds, then fussed about replacing the barrel. Several thousand rounds later, still runs fine, Thank you Sailor Custom! A good friend and gunsmith I respect never would use STI slides due to cracking. 6 months or less. Texas exotica market will saturate.

My particular 6 inch TROJAN has such a poorly fit barrel link that it broke the barrel at the inferior good and had to be replaced. Just saying.

Poorly fit barrel on a six inch Trojan. Cost me a barrel and link. YMMV So I would get someone to look at the specimen you're buying first.

Umm duty weapons are obviously a different category. The two CCW holders I personally know who have discharged their weapons both had to lawyer up to get their weapons back. Your mileage may vary but their experiences definitely influenced the decision keep the cost down of my CCW rotation.

If you are ever forced to use your CCW it will end up in a police locker for a long time.

Best 1911 gunsmith I've ever met preferred Caspian frames for his SS builds. Your mileage may vary.

Use a 6 inch Sti trojan for L10. ff by Benny Hill, fantastic. STi poorly fit the barrel feet and the sheared off in about 2k. Shame on you still. 6 inch guns are fantastic.

Carries easier than an officer's model, less recoil, just as accurate. It's that good.

I concur with crabby. 250 rounds reload, 50 winchester Sxt, zero failures.

I shoot a 6 inch Trojan lightened by Benny Hill for limited 10, don't shoot all that well but the gun is outstanding. That being said I had to have another barrel fit as the factory fit barrel had too much of the feet removed, so go custom as I am into mine 1800 after the work and hard chrome.

Spartan's beat all the below TRP Springfield Armory guns in fit by quite a bit.

Had a long slide built by them that took two months longer than expected but more importantly was not what I had specified in some important ways, such as the slide was not flat topped, mag well was not installed, and the front sight was poorly fitted: too much daylight underneath the sight. Sent the weapon back and Mr. Serva refunded my money after a few days. Spent 150 bucks to inspect a 1911 that Frankly was not worth 1600. Your mileage my vary. Parts appear to be STI.

Or get a well known gunsmith to build you a SS. Please don't drop that kind of money on a STI SS.
