  1. If there were any matches around here..........
  2. Big differences? No just all the rules. Any rule in USPSA is different in IDPA. Keep in mind it was invented by Wilson, and all of his old IPSC homies from the 70's. And actually you could retain your mags, and use cover, and use concealment, if you wanted to, because there is no rule against it. In fact you can even run an IWB appendix holster (in Open, Limited or L10) and shoot the whole match IDPA like. You could, but why? The biggest difference is scoring. Hit Factor (HF) rules in USPSA. HF= points earned minus penalties divided by time spent. Shoot fast have fun.
  3. OAL is just for feeding, bullet shape and length affects pressure (ie same weight bullet, TC and RN, will have not only have different OALs, but case volumes as well)
  4. I used to run Bear Creek RN at 1.060" Glocks cannot be loaded to more than 1.180" because they will not feed thru the magazine.
  5. Reductive finger surgery, otherwise live with it. After 100,000 rounds it will seem normal.
  6. Yes, pulling back out of the seating die requires the most force. The rest of the stations are easy.
  7. Taylor's for over 20 years, but today, Taran Tactical.
  8. More common with the 9mm because of the greater amount of taper on the upstroke, not down stroke, pulling back out of the seating die, not so common with 40S&W. It's a shoulder bolt, and you have to check to make sure it's seated every few thousand rounds. I broke one at about 150,000 rounds.
  9. I run a 124 gr Bayou over 3.0 grains of TG at 1.100" AOL. Goes about 1,050 fps out of my 17" JRC.
  10. ^^^^^^ Oh yes it will. I know of at least 3 shooters that blew up the primer magazine on 550's from static discharge. One guy lost the very tip of his trigger finger. The federal government contracted with Sandia labs to study it. Your tax $$$ at work. https://www.osti.gov/scitech/servlets/purl/10131328
  11. Here are the 2 different .45acp stems. I should have thought to offer you one as I don't load 45 any more on a SD
  12. Didn't I tell you that on the 18? Posted December 18 (edited) The seating die rod is double faced, for flat nose or round nose bullets. It has to fit the right way.
  13. A .125" front with a .180" rear of a G17, developed empirically over 3 decades ago.....
  14. Ammo would not be a problem, but original capacity magazines could be. Bringing a complete or parts mag into CA has been illegal since 2000, and the recent temporary order only affects CA residents. Most LEO agencies will view original capacity as illegal, and take them as property. That happens on a regular basis even inside of CA.
  15. Correct, but it is of a lower potential. All that does is discharge you onto to the press so both potentials are of the same value.
  16. How do you get the brass out of the snow? Wait until spring?
  17. nowhere near over pressure at all. This is over pressure, very near a KaBoom...

    Guide rod options

    G17 and G34 Glock OEM guide rods are the same part number. 100-002-704WB Recoil Spring Assembly Mfr Part: 1533 GLOCK FITS: Model 17, 9mm; Model 22, .40 S&W; Model 31, .357 SIG; Model 34, 9mm; Model 35, .40 S&W
  19. ^^^^ Yes, for a true earth ground, but you don't actually have to. All that is needed is to lower the potential that has built up on you before letting the primers drop in the magazine by touching the press. Static electricity discharge can cause primers to detonate

    Guide rod options

Guide rods made for Glocks..... Lonewolf, GlockStore, Midway, Taran Tactical, RockyourGlock, Zev, Ranier, Brownells, Amazon, If you are going down in spring weight, you can use the OEM. Crank the slide back, pop the tip off, put the new spring on the rod, rack it back, and stick the tip back in. This does not work for 20lb and higher spring weights as the plastic insert will not hold it in place. Even if you do not replace the tip, it's just un-captured.
  22. But soon there will only be small primer .45acp.... What head stamp brass?
