  1. Yeah I just bought 4 of them for all my glocks....cost about $15 with shipping. Less than half of one of the metal ZEV's. They aren't ideal but at least I don't have to worry about mag damage or mags falling out in competition or worse yet in self defense application.... Yup! I have them on all my carry Glocks and competition Glocks. They sometimes have sharp edges, just smooth the out the corners with an emery board.

    Holster Wear

The Black Ice ($65) or the Revolution ($25)? One is a solid laminate and the other is injection molded.
  3. I have been running the same magazines for over 10 years. It's not the mags, it's the metal mag release. If you want extended just put in a OEM G21 mag release for $3.

    Holster Wear

Glocks are just hammers, holster wear doesn’t mean anything for carry or comp. This G17 has 16 years of competition use in an original one piece laminate BladeTech belt loop holster and barely any wear. But that's nothing compared to this G19. Not holster wear, it survived a car fire.Actually inside of an Uncle Mikes Nylon holster, laying on top of a Sunday newspaper in the well of the spare tire on a old Cadillac Eldorado. Burnt the car to the ground, cops gave it back to the owner and he gave it to me to get it running. Replaced the springs and sights, frame and slide are little tweaked, but it runs fine. ‘
  5. I wouldn't agree that it is normal wear, I would say it was made that way. I have had over 20 different Glocks, one G21 that went over 125,000 rounds and while it had some wear, it was on the flat part where the slide contacts the rails. Here is a G17 that has about 100,000 rounds and it has some wear on the rear rails also. However, you might run that G19 to over 250,000 rounds without issues, like the Glock guy said. But it is not the way rails should look. Try posting over at GlockTalk.com and see if this has come up with someone else.
  6. wow, that G19 looks brand new and clean, but no, those rails are not right.
  7. I milled my Heine rear to .180" a few months ago and really like the sight picture, .125" front.
  8. I'm running 125 Bear Creek on top of 3.6 grs Solo to make minor with a G17.
  9. I seen lots of guys trying to run phone app timers on both Iphones and Android. What you find out is that a phone isn't a shot timer. Just spend the money and get a real shot timer. There are lots of good ones out there now. Most start around $125. I run the CED7000 and an old RUREADY release trigger timer, but lots of guys like the Pac or Club timers.

    Cracked Slide.

I have cracked 2 slides, both G17's, at the forward part of the ejection port. Glock replaced both of them. Dropped my load from 4.4grs of TiteGroup down to 4.0grs.
  11. In 15 years of shooting USPSA, somewhere over 200,000 rounds, extractor, locking block, trigger reset spring, slide stop lever, slide lock, and slide lock spring. Had the entire slide fall off after show clear and empty when the slide lock spring broke. Had to take the barrel out of the slide to show clear... On my carry Glocks, I have an extractor and trigger reset spring wrapped in a thin piece of foam shoved up in the hollow backstrap behind the plug.
  12. So I'm out. My real life concealment garments all sweep back; I carry mag pouches, and I've swapped sights and trigger components on my guns -- which also hold more than 8 rounds, come equipped with lights and/or lasers, or are chambered in calibers smaller than 9mm..... I guess I'll just shoot my LCP380 in steel challenge... Ok, why not? If this was real, which it is not, maybe even rimfire could be included. So... That gives me a whole new idea! I will run my Ruger 22/45 6.5" slab sided bull barrel from concealment. I am going to rule that division also!!! Who would dare appendix carry a Ruger rimfire?
  13. Glocks don't care about slide to frame fit, only barrel to slide.
  14. Oh darn, you went and wrecked my gig. I was going to rule that division in Senior.... Sigh, guess I'll just have to shoot my Kahr CW9 in Production. "It's even more IDPA than IDPA." How cool is that? Bill Wilson will be sorry if this division ever gets incorporated, no one will shoot IDPA anymore. Wait, I don't shoot IDPA anymore anyway.
  15. Well it would be IDPA, except it has to be subcompact, not a Glock 34, and with only 8 rounds. No cover required, no limit on mags, no vests allowed. Besides Bill Wilson was an IPSC shooter before he invented IDPA.... http://www.frontsightmagazine.org/ar...6featuresm.pdf
  16. I think this would bring out alot of guys who carry concealed but do not normally shoot competition, including everyone I know who shoots Open and Limited but carrys an 7 or 8 round pocket gun. Sub Compact Limited 8 Concealed Scoring is Minor. Minimum caliber 9mm. Gun rules: 3.5” barrel maximum, no modifications from factory configuration allowed; exceptions are grip socks or grip tape only. Magazines loaded to 8 rounds maximum. Mag pouches; no mag pouches allowed, all magazines from inside the waist band or pockets Holsters; Only inside the waist band holsters allowed, exception Clip Draw allowed, must loop belt Concealment is mandatory, must cover gun and magazines. Garment must extend a minimum of 4” below top of belt line, and be continuous around the shooter. Examples; Tee shirt, button down shirt, sweat shirt. Garment must be pulled straight up, not swept aside. No vests allowed. Sub-divisions: LEO, Lady, Junior, Senior, Super Senior Check out this raging 1.9 first shot draw…. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8lqm...ature=youtu.be
  17. Allmost 15 years on the old style solid laminate straight drop blade tech, and very little wear at all.
  18. All steel has to be calibrated to minor. I run my G17 with +140mm extensions for a total of 23.
  19. Sights are far more important that one extra round. Will have to say Tarans FO are the best, not only a small rod but about as close to the top as you can get.
  20. You may damage the slot cut in the slide trying to twist off an aftermarket sight. Best way is to drill the hex head then punch it out, just like an old staked sight.
  21. Well if only the D zone was visible from the starting position, then A zone hits are impossible without passing thru the barrel, holes or no holes. I would have scored anything outside of the D zone as a mike.

    Led cast bullets

LED (Light Emitting Diode) bullets do not work in any gun, except to light up the barrel. Now LEAD bullets, either cast or plated or coated or jacketed work well in all guns. So lead bullets thru a factory Glock barrel is risky. Lead buildup occurs rapidly, especially at velocities over 1,000 fps, and the bore diameter reduces quickly. You need to pay attention to cleaning, and it is a PITA, which is the main reason to get an aftermarket rifled barrel, much, much, easier to clean. Here is an article from Front Sight about a controlled experiment shooting lead in OEM barrels, it blew up at around 300 rounds...
  23. 180 grain will be softer shooting than the 165 grain for minor.
