  1. Ok, so this was a local match. Usually shooters trade off RO and scorekeeper responsibilities. What were all the rest of the squad doing?
  2. Sandbagger123, You don't look at the clock when you are done shooting and want to know if you have any D's or mikes? Why did it take the RO to the 3rd stage to realize no one was scoring? How many shooters were on this squad?
  3. DMark, just out of curiosity, what gun you are shooting in NFC?
  4. Just the one, I have seen hundreds of overpressured brass over the years, but this one was worth a picture.
  5. Found this in a bucket of range brass. Hope the shooter knew what he was dealing with. Trimmed a 9x19 down to a 9x18.
  6. And Taran's are cooler looking than Taylor's, being anodized and all.
  7. I know may competition shooters who run lead thru a 40S&W Glock OEM barrel without issues. But keep in mind barrel leading is a function of velocity and bullet hardness and powder type. The lower the velocity, the less quickly the lead builds up in polygonal ( hammer forged) barrels, but it does build up. A cut rifled barrel greatly reduces the buildup, that's the original reason cut rifled barrels where developed, to reduce fouling, not to increase accuracy, and it makes alot easier to get the lead out, by using the lead cocktail, which does no harm to SS barrels. A longer barrel does not reduce lead fouling, it only provides more surface area to foul. It may improve accuracy for certain loads. A threaded barrel has nothing to do with improved accuracy, it only allows the addition of a compensator, which with the correct load, will allow the gun to shoot with less recoil.
  8. Taylor Freelance are plus 6 in the 140mm extension, requires an ISMI plus spring, bullet proof but not so fast to take off. I have been running Taylor's for over 20 years and will continue to, but Taran's are the newest of the extensions, easy on and off, and with the pin are pretty bullet proof. If I was starting today, go with Taran's
  9. I run the Lee Factory Crimp for my .357 SIG loads. Screw the body all the way down to the shell plate and then screw the die body all the way down. It is a floating crimp.
  10. My second order of 3,500 124 gr TC 9mm's placed on 2-9 and arrived on 2-11 in Sourther California from New Orleans. Made my first order on 10-14-2014 and since shooting the coated bullets my blood lead level dropped from 25 down to 8. Kudos to Donni Miculek and his coated bullets.
  11. The comp should not contact any part of the slide during firing. You need like .005" minimum. What's your load?
  12. After shooting Bayou Bullets since October 15, 2014, my blood lead level has dropped to 8.
  13. You realize that you can reset the trigger manually when that happens? It doesn't stop running. There was a period in the 90's which Glock had issues with trigger reset springs but that is long gone now.
  14. Everyone knows Glocks aren't even real guns.... Cheap and ugly, but they never stop running.
  15. OP, you ran over 200,000 rounds thru a G19 before you started reloading??? If you can afford to run that much new ammo why bother with reloading? Yea, the Dillon 550 requires operator input after each pull of the handle. If you use high density powders, such as TiteGroup, you better look at each case, and don't stop and check every 10 rounds either. If anything goes wrong, empty all the stations, and start from scratch. Your other choice is to use a very low density powder so that a double will spill out of the case. And don't be so sure it was a double, years ago we ran a 230 groin 45acp on top of 12 grains of TIteGroup in a test barrel and didn't blow it up. Now set the bullet too deep, yes, instant KaBoom. See for yourself, measure the OAL on a round and chamber it over and over again. It setbacks slowly at first, but then changes rapidly. .100" shorter and the pressure doubles.
  16. Put everything back to 100% OEM. Check for the malfunction, then change one part out at a time check each time, and it may be a combination two or more items in your particular gun. Somewhere in that matrix the problem will reveal itself. Personally I only use the OEM 3.5lb connector and leave everything else stock. The trigger polishes itself up very nicely after 100,000 rounds.
  17. apetrulis01.Agreed, ,most departments do not spend enough time with weapon take away/retention and civilians, for the most part, spend zero time training. It looks clear enough that the permit holder did not intend to put up a fight, but it illustrates what may happen when your awareness is very low. I don't think a different holster would have stopped this from happening, although I personally find it much easier to retain and more difficult to take a weapon from a IWB holster than a OWB holster. And any IWB holster is way more concealable that any OWB holster, which is really the definition of concealed carry.
  18. I ran a LoneWolf 9mm conversion barrels on my G24 and a G22. Had to change both the ejector and extractor to make the combo 100% reliable.
  19. Sight blocks can be made to order. Give Taylor a call. Just got this in from Gabe in Arizona following his appearance at the “Left Out of Rio” shoot. He’s shooting a TF Sight Block mounted in a G22 slide. “I placed 3rd A class Limited, 6th Limited and 23rd out of 140 shooters.” Note: Our Sight Blocks are set up for a Glock 22 slide, but we can shorten them to fit Glock 35 slides on request. “Your Taylor Freelance Front Sight Block is an Amazing product,” says Noel Zarza in a recent e-mail. “It’s a complete Glock game changer for USPSA, right next to the Tooth and Nail Thumb Res
  20. I have 12 of the Taylor Freelance 140mms and have been running them for over 18 years on different gen OEM Glock mags. Not one of them has had an issue. Make sure you have the right generation mag for the right generation extension. Also make sure that the follower is correct for that generation of mag. Instead of u tubing it, call Taylor and tell him your issue. He stands behind all of his products.
  21. Thats why the ICORE guys always try to run Federal.
  22. The developed friction is between the OD of the bullet and the barrel ID. The base doesn't matter. Plated bullets have less resistance than copper jackets.
  23. Any previous competition experience?
  24. Only have about 20K on my LoneWolf upper, with Lone Wolf barrel, haven't noticed anything going on with the frame rails or the grooves in the slide.
  25. It means same caliber and same length, that's all. Doesn't matter what the markings are.
