  1. Squadded and ready to roll! Sharks, what sharks? I thought we were shooting the desert! LOL!
  2. Got mine today. Thanks Mark Guess I know what I'll be practicing until the Nationals! Looks like a real winner. Made very well.
  3. Ordered mine from Mark on Thursdsay. Can't wait to get it and start some practice. Nationals are only 8 weeks away.
  4. Congratulations on getting it to the range, I was hoping to try it out last Saturday. Keep up posted on the progress. We expect you to win open on Labor Day's 2 gun match with your new gun.
  5. For all information about the mini, go to www.perfectunion.com, the forum section has over 150,000 postings about the Mini, all your questions will be answered. Dan is right about the mags, Ruger, or PMI only.
  6. Why dosen't Remington just set it up just like the 1100 Competition Master Some times these factory guys don't have a clue. Should have 8+1 Tube, Non ported barrel, Remington chokes.
  7. JP, once got a 3 shot group at 300 yard with Black Hills 77Gr. .770" Then shot two, 4 shot groups 1.25".
  8. Remington Managed/Reduced Recoil Federal Reduced Recoil Both worked well in my 1100CM and Benelli M2 Salient. Going to try some of the Ranger Low Recoil.
  9. Sacramento IDPA club had over 400 different shooters over the past 12 months shoot their matches. 80 shooters shot 5 or more matches at the club. Highest number at a match in the past 12 months is 128, past 3 months, 123 ,117 and 103. We have 6 stages, with over 15 shooters per squad it can make a long day. Great to have that many people interested in shooting IDPA, but you have to design the stages to flow, reduce the bottle necks, and limit the complicated and fun, high round count stages. Some shooters are shooting USPSA at our range to be able to shoot the higher round count stages. At SacValley Shooting Range we also have 2 USPSA clubs and a Steel Challenge match. Some of our members drive 100 miles one way to shoot and 6, 12 round stages are not keeping many of our shooters interested. Success can have its problems.
  10. I would never use my competition guns for carry. Triggers are way too light, about 3 1/4 Lbs., Para 16/40 w/magwell, XD9 Tactical, w/magwell, Glock 35. Ty, just join the race and be a gamer like the rest of us are, you know you want to. LOL! So to be honest, my IDPA guns are competiton only, unless SHTF and then I would use them all.
  11. I went thru Velocity Shooters to get my Salient. It is a work of art. Shot a buddies and had to order one the next day.
  12. I started when I was 50, been shooting IDPA for 8 years. Love it being able to compete in a sport and beat the young ones on a regular basis. To be honest a lot of the top 15 shooters at our matches of 100+ shooters are 40-60.
  13. I ran an 1100CM for 7 years until the last year when I got tired of all the issues with the 1100. Not going into detail since most if not all of them have been discussed on this forum. Bought a Salient M2. Should of bought the Benelli years ago. Yes it does kick more, but not enough to stop me from loving it! Easy to clean, light and it works. I did run some Winchester 2.75 dram loads and it functions fine with that light load, want to see how they take down steel with such a light load. Still using up my 3 1/4 dram loads I had to run in the Remington to get it to function, which there was still a chance it would not run. Don't worry about the recoil it is not an issue.
  14. Go to the Smith & Alexander aluminum mag well for the Para. You have to call and ask them for it.Have to keep the weight down. Had to mill down the sides to fit in the IDPA box.
  15. Ran a 1100CM for 6 years, good for 3 years then it started having issues. Bought a Salient Benelli M2 with the comfort tech stock, should of bought it years ago. Easy to clean, easy to load, easy to shoot.
  16. His Remington did not want to be retired and tried to commit suicide by jumping in front of Butch's bullet.
  17. Someone posted "Move to a free state" and then deleted it after my post. That was the smart ass response I was refering to, not epoxy and paint.
  18. I ran and 870 for a year and then bought the 1100 Competition Master in 2003, ran good for 3 1/2 years then started having issues, could never get it to run right. I had been looking hard at the FN SLP, was waiting for it to come out with the pistol grip stock. Looked very close at the Mossberg 930 and spoke with Benny about his. Friend has ordered a 930 open from him. Both are great shotguns for 3 gun. I shot a friends Salient Benelli and that was the end of my search.
  19. Check on Calguns.net forums for your California questions. You won't get smart ass responses to your postings there. Many shooters just do not know what we have to put up with to be able to shoot all year, 70 degrees this weekend, shooting in the summer with no humidity, no looking for your brass in the snow, not slipping on ice at a match, deciding if I want to wear shorts, or a tee shirt to a match in February, not having to get ready for the shooting season, since we shoot all year round. LOL!
  20. I run the Williams Slugger Fire Sight. It bolts right on the vent rib. Lot of adjustment for slugs. Cost about $30.00, installs in /12 hour in the comfort of you home. There is a thread somewhere with a picture of it.
  21. Always a great match. I'll be there. I need to reclaim my 2nd high senior tactical, 2009, that I lost last year. LOL!
  22. My Remington was the one having issues. Ran good for 3 years then problems.
  23. There is no maintance, it's a Benelli! LOL, only kidding. I just picked my Salient up from my FFL after my 10 day gun jail wait. Yes, California sucks. I am very impressed. Tony is great to work with. Mine took a little longer to get with the holidays, plus Tony said Pop Tart was using mine for the picture on Taran's FB page, LOL! I actually bought mine after shooting Chivas's, fast, very fast. It does kick more than my Remington 1100CM, but it was starting to have issues, all the time. Putting the Williams Slugger Fire Sights on it tonight. Changed the recoil pad, to a shorter one, put the 3 gun gear side saddle, diffuser choke in it. Plan to sight it in on Saturday and test fire it, and be ready for the NCPS Thanksgiving 3 Gun Rematch on Sunday.
