  1. Lower attendance due to new location? East Coast v/s West Coast, Ammo availability?
  2. I like the new layout. Only issue I have is the print seems to be a too small for my reading eyes.
  3. Great videos, thanks for posting them.
  4. I too started with a Mini 14. As D.Hayden will remember. Had some PMI 40 rounders 3 out of 4 worked fine, PMI 20's all worked good. Most all of my Ruger 30's worked. As with D.Hayden I had work done to my Mini, trigger job, brake, extended mag release, changed gas ports, cryoed. Shot decent. Then I got an ASI custom build. Shot it at 2 USPSA Gun Nationals, Shoots as good as my JP out to 350 yds. Best place for information on the Mini is www.perfectunion.com, over 150,000 postings on the Mini. +1 on never using something new (never tested) at a match. Been there, done that, more than once. LOL!
  5. As much as you may want to, stay away from the 1100, I had one for 7 years, a 1100 Competition Master, set up from Remington for 3 gun. It was ok for about 3 years and then it started having issues, I changed the piston, honed out the chamber, drilled out the gas ports, kept it clean, changed the O-rings each time I cleaned it, which had to be done after each match, changed the recoil spring to a Sure-Cycle, change the interceptor latch, used only Winchester AA for matches, used Mobile 1 Oil, and it still has problems, and always at a match, and of course the USPSA 3 Gun Nationals, 2 years in a row. Other 3 gunners I know have problems also, only shooter I know that had good luck with his Remington 1187 got it from JP when they were doing them. I bought a Salient Benelli. Very happy, but I would look at the Remington Versa Max Tactical or buy a Mossberg pump until you can get a Benelli, they kick about the same! LOL! Good luck with your search.
  6. Have been using PMC 55 Bronze for the stuff under 150 yds. Black Hill 262 77gr. Seconds for the long range. Matches my Burris XTR BDC out to 400. Still trying to work up a hand load to match the Black Hills.
  7. If your wife has you on a budget and you want to get into 3 Gun, DON'T even get started. Save yourself a lot of grief and your marriage and get into some other sport. LOL! I have 2 safes, one with guns she know about and the other is the mystery safe with my 3 gun toys. When she does see a different gun and asked where did you get that, I just say I've had that for a long time, dear. Or I traded this and that for it. 3 Gun is addictive, way too addictive. Good luck!
  8. If I had your budget limit I would go with the Mossberg 930JM. The Remington 1100 and 1187 just do not hold up for 3 gun. I had a 1100 CM and it did ok for 3 years and then it started having issues and issues. A friend did get a 1187 done by JP and he ran it for 5 years with only 1 jam. We both swithched to the Salient Benelli, but they are pricey. If Remington had the Versa Max Tactical out when I decided to buy, I would of probably got one of them. I have a shooter friend who got a Mossberg 930 set up for open by Benny Hill, great shotgun for the $$$.
  9. I have been shooting 3 gun for 10 years now and with my Remington 1100 CM, the light modified worked the best all around. It liked the Remington Low Recoil slugs. Now with my Salient M2, tried the diffuser, modified, IC, Light Modified worked the best all around. It does like the Federal Low Recoil slugs a little better than the Remingtons. I found that it is just better to change ammo than chokes. Spreaders, #6 high base, but most of the time Wally World Federals 7.5 and 8's work for 90% of the stages I have shot.
  10. I just changed mine to the JP Low Mass, and only readjusted the gas port. I also am using the Endine Hydraulic Buffer. Did not have to do any sighting in.
  11. I also shot with Outerlimits at that match, guite the impressive technique. I really like the new name "Knone".
  12. Carl would like that. I would love to go back there for the Nattionals!!!
  13. I know it is early, but any word on location for next year 2013?
  14. In 2006 there was some talk about going to the IPSC "turtle" targets. At the 2006 Multi Gun Nationals in Albany, OR., shooters meeting the night befor the match, Michael Voit stated that this is the USA USPSA, we will have head shots as long as I am president. There was a loud roar of approval from the shooters that were present. I have been a supporter of 3 Gun Nation, I even stayed in Vegas an extra day after shooting the 2010 USPSA Multi-Gun, to watch the 4 stage match and final shoot off. I can understand the shoot-n-see type targets for TV viewing, but I'm sure the standard USPSA targets could be made in the shoot-n-see material.
  15. Not so much as dumbing down, as it is "Politically Correct" targets. It is going to be on NBC sports.
  16. Butch, at least now you can get one living in a free state!
  17. As Benny wrote, the M2 3 gun model, others are the Mossberg 930 Jerry Miculek, FN SLP, Remington Versa Max Tactical. Still waiting to see the 930JM and the Remington Versa Max tactical. Both should be hitting the gun stores soon. At least that what they have been promising! LOL!
  18. I wrap the sides of the recoil pad with electrical tape. Find the widest you can.
