You are trying to use bolt gun loading techniques to load for a semiautos. from JP , the functional aspect of the ammunition in a semi‐automatic platform precludes some of the accuracy tricks that you might be accustomed to employing on your bolt gun ammo. load to just under magazine length. Try different bullets. I will give an example . Hornady 55 fmj will "jump" more than a Hornady 55sp. A sierra 77 bthp match jumps even less. In most chambers .if you want to single load there are bullets for that also.
  2. either you have the wrong crank arm . Or. Something is wrong with the crankshaft( #11061 ) /journal key(#13475). Leaning toward a Journal key problem. compare your new parts to your old parts. Especially the keyway placement.
  3. on the back of the base is a stop block is it hitting the crank arm? When fully down.
  4. my 550 tool head used to load .223. The powder die does not thread all the way through ( likes about two threads to be even with bottom). That is how you adjust it. so some calibers will go past the tool head .some will not. this is normal/correct.
  5. don't use a Lee trimmer but. Part of the reason Dillon has a vacuum attachment is to catch the chips to prevent such an issue as yours. so se if you can rig up some type of shop vac attachment.
  6. You do understand that For the trim die to hold the case it sizes the brass. Take the trimer off. set the die to size first. Get that correct. Then put the trimer on and adjust it to trim length.

    pick one and go shoot. If you are just starting out . You most likely wont be able to tell the difference. If both are loaded to the same PF. Both loaded with the same powder. Unless you have both side by side. At this point you just won't be able to tell the difference.

    Some formulas for recoil. Includes the powder charge weight. Therefore the lighter bullet could end up with a higher mass.
  9. Turn the die in more. You will feel it cam over. Also watch the video above.
  10. My defense bullet. Comes in a box of 20 to 50. Loaded ready to shoot.
  11. sizing die must cam over not just touch. Next Iprocess my own brass on a 1050. That tool head including the trimer sizes the case 3 times. On the loading head is another sizing die( use hornady one shot case lube). I am using range brass you never know what you are getting. This has eliminated all case gauge failures. Before that had random failures to chamber in main match gun.
  12. My brass. Mouth .416 base ..420 after sizeing. (Redding die) .Don't have any fired unsized case at this time. As stated above you may have a bad chamber. Have you fired any factory ammo in this gun? If you have a passthrough die you may be able to save the brass. But I would not recommend it. CFE pistol is very similar to Autocomp. That's the one powder that gave me pressure issues. The load was mid book. No were near max charge.

  15. interesting beng the outer diameter is the root cause of Dillons issue. That tidbit of information . Came from a Dillon engineer. Unless they have some undersized bodys lying around.
  16. common problem with some Dillon dies. They will not reuse the collar. The multiple RMRs is because .You are confusing the Dillon Rep. The same as I was confused earlier. Thermology is very important. Buy a sizing die to get you by for now. Hear is an inexpensive one.   18. So you need a sizing die. For the most part pick one. Redding,rcbs, lee, Lyman, Hornady.

  20. The reason they want you to replace everything. Goes back to . Cause and effect. example part A fails caused by part B drawing to much current. Another example your automobile engine "locks up". Engine is replaced. Two days later your new engine "locks up". Requiring you Engine to neen replacement. That's Effect. Now Why. (Cause )Engine cooling fan is not working.Engine is over heating. Little bulb on dash has never worked. Fix cooling fan issue , replace bulb in dash and engine.
