  1. it didn't sound right to me either but was hoping someone smarter then me might be able to confirm or deny.
  2. In a discussion on another forum the reported accuracy issues of the M&P Pro in 9mm are being blamed on the barrel/slide unlocking early causing the groups to string vertically and the groups to be high relative to the point of aim. It has been suggested that the issue is made worse with lower pressure rounds because they cause the pistol to unlock earlier. The following statement was offered in response to my question as to why lower pressure rounds would cause earlier barrel/slide unlocking with everything else being equal. Does this seem to be correct? "Chamber pressure is what keeps the M&P locked in the first place. As pressure decreases, the barrel unlocks. Lower pressure ammo unlocks sooner because it reaches the threshold sooner. With a gun susceptible to unlocking early -- unlocking before the projectile has fully exited the muzzle -- the pressure of the round plays an important role. A higher pressure round may provide enough "lock" for the bullet to escape while a lower pressure round may not. That's why, in the M&P's case, it's more a matter of chamber pressure than bullet weight playing a role in accuracy and targeting". 3. << If you bitch about some rule you don't care for 527 times during a match, that could rise to the level of unsportsmanlike conduct. >> Does that mean if someone complains about people complaining about the rules 527 times a day is also unsportsmanlike conduct? I too get tried of hearing about how the rules suck even if I agree with the basic statement. If you are going to compete in IDPA you should just follow the rules and shoot the match. If the topic comes up feel free to express yourself but a 20 tirade is not necessary. But I also dislike listening to the koolaid drinker's repeating expressing their absolute belief that Wilson and friends are actually minor gods and should never be questioned. Both are equally unentertaining with the complainers being unendingly adament and the koolaid drinker's expressing their arrogance and intolerance. Both groups need to grow up ... Please
  4. << You don't have to agree with it, just understand the reasoning behind it. >> Actually it is ok to shoot IDPA, not like the rule, not understand the reason behind it, and bitch about it whenever you feel like it. Joining/competing in IDPA does not automatically cancel your 1st Amendment rights nor is there a section in the membership agreement that forbids you from expressing your opinion.
  5. Actually the 1st one's were sold by Tripp and marked "TRI"
  6. Most aftermarket barrels available today are of decent quality and with any barrel installation the real key to getting the maxi accuracy out of it is in the fit. A Glock with a properly fit barrel is mechnically capable of 1.5-2" groups at 25-35 yards assuming good ammo. If your stock set up won't do that then there is benefit to be had for the time and expense, if it can, then there is nothing to be gained. Although Glock tells everyone not to use lead bullets there are a lot of people out there using moly coated, plated, and lead bullets in Glocks without problems. Just clean your barrel/chamber regularly, like you should be doing anyway.
  7. There shouldn't be any way kydex could mark Hard Chrome, there is something else going on.
  8. Trouble free, nothing to break, easy to install ....
  9. I have the opposite problem. I have a landowner that has about 5000 arces located off a scenic highway just down the street from a casino and a racetrack with a small local town about 1 mile away. It is guaranteed to have no encroachment problems for at least 50 years, and is located within 30 miles of several large population bases with excellent housing, lodging, eateries, and entertainment. It has excellent weather except for about 2 months out of the year, is exempt from most federal, state, and local regulations and has access to water and power. It is ready to develope into a world class facility but we can't find an investor(s).
  10. I have recently started using one, thanks Carl ...
  11. If it's stock, no ramp. But if you are ordering a Bar Sto be prepared to wait about 6 months to get it.
  12. I agree, Limited and Open should be together ...
  13. Dave at Daves Metal Works makes a 3 spring tuning kit for the XDM's, give him a call.
  14. What is the absolutely most reliable 22 pistol available that has a grip angle close to a 1911/2011 ?
  15. BFG's AT's best tires I have ever used on my Tahoes and Silverado's and I drive my vehicles hard both on and off road.
  16. I have used the Bear creek Moly bullets in my 40 cal Limited gun for several years. Up until last year I used the 180's over either WST or PB. Early last year I started playing with the 200 over either WST or PB. All of my load's are set at 1.175" OAL. I have since tested them against each other several times and have decided I like the 200's better. While the 200's can feel a little sluggish using a standard weight slide, with a lightened slide they regain the cycle speed and feeling of quickness while still feeling a little softer in recoil impulse. But that's just my opinion.
  17. The Speedway Mag well modification done by SouthPaw Custom works really well. I have used it on several Glocks and a couple of XD's over the years and recommend the modification and his quality of work. And yes it is Production legal.
  18. Pretty much anything you want in the slide ....
