  1. Got a slot to the Production Nats...but I'm shooting Open this year.
  2. Awsome Nemo! I just found my old Ernie Hill Belt (the one with the metal re-inforcement) a couple days ago and it doesn't fit me either... I had the black baket weave set up, I got rid of the holster and mag pouches a while ago though. I actually talked to Ernie himself when I ordered it over the phone about 11 or 12 years ago.
  3. Thanks Mike, I was thinking of giving 8.5gr a try. I'll post my results in a few days...
  4. Here are the results of my 1st attempt at loading for 9mm major: Speer once-fired brass, 125gr(124.5 actually)jhp zero, WSP primer, 8.2gr HS-6, and 1.160" COL. It was 30degrees and cloudy when I chrono'ed the loads through my Schuemann commander barrel w/ 3 hybrd holes. I got an Avg Vel of 1258fps for a lowly 156 pf. Any suggestions on how many tenths to bump it up to get another 100 fps?
  5. Thanks a lot guys. It was built by Errol Lawson (Keal Custom). Its a shorty 9mm with a Schuemann hybricomp .355 barrel. It comes from Wil with 2 hybrid holes and a blank space for a 3rd. Errol put 2 small angled holes that actually meet to form one hole in the barrel. The comp is Titanium and has some nifty holes on the side that are angled as well. The rest of the gun is pretty standard, the usual stuff. Most of the small parts are Ed Brown, the firing pin is a Limcat XL, Swenson thumb safety, and the trigger parts are all SV. The trigger is very nice, a crisp 2 lbs or a little less (according to Errol) and I don't anticipate any problems with it such as hammer follow or burst mode... I didn't have much time at the range before work but I did sight it in and chrono some ammo. My first try at 9mm major ammo was OK but I need to bump up the charge. I loaded a 125jhp zero over an 8.2 gr charge of HS6 at 1.160" col with a WSP primer. It came in low at about a 155pf but it shot great! I don't think that bumping the load up to a 165pf will change the way it shoots too much. I really like the way this thing handles though. Thanks for the encouragement again guys, I'm gonna need all the help I can muster to get me through this learning process. Wow, I can't believe I'm going to the dark side...and I'm liking it.
  6. OK, lets see if I can get this to work... I just got my new Open gun and I'm on my way out the door to go try it out. I'm very excited to try this Open Division thing out...I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with this. Sorry for the poor quality of the pics.

    Birthday

That's not even right.... Happy Birthday Matt!
  8. Yeah, unfortunately it's gotten worse too... Glad to hear you're in a better place though.
  9. +1 to all How about the non-tactical BERET..... The Army figured if they let everyone wear one of those bad-boys they would get a lot more people to sign up!
  10. +1 to the above comments. I have to wear one at work to hold my G22 which is a backup to my subgun. I hate it for several reasons. It's not that secure for one, it's a tad bit slower for me, and the gun's not always in the same place because the holster moves around when you do. CDRODA396 is right on with his comments as far as positioning and retention too. I've seen a couple go bye-bye without the user knowing it and it's funny to see the wannabees who wear it down by their knees. Look at me everyone, I'm an adult film star...."One-Slung-Lo".
  11. Wow, OK... I'm guessing that the comp was cracked badly enough to pose a safety issue and had to go under the knife, er um, blade.

Yeah, it's amazing that this stuff is still going on. I have yet to meet someone who either, actually believes that these "laws" work or refuses to listen to a logical explanation as to why they don't work. But ignorant politicians still keep doing what they do best....... Sincerely, "free me from the 'free state', please..."
  13. That was rather funny! I do see the point of your post, and thankfully in my years of playing this game I haven't run into too much of what you're talking about. MOST of the people who would stoop to this don't last too long, because it really is about the shooting. Thanks for your post.
  14. +1 I just bought a hybricomp direct from Wil the other day. The price was $300, not cheap but they're supposed to be worth it... ...I can't wait to find out.
  15. Jim (and Mike), Thanks for the update, it's much appreciated. Regards, Todd
  16. There's nothing wrong at all with shifting your grip during the reload, so don't let that worry you. If you change to the extended Glock mag catch just be careful when picking up the (loaded) gun from a table. The catch extends beyond the plane of the grip and can be pushed inadvertently when picking the gun up. DVC, Todd
  17. Sorry folks, but I no longer have the BT DOH. I had no idea so many people were looking for this holster. I wasn't even really TRYING to sell it....
  18. Thanks a lot 3QT, that was very enjoyable. I've just been motivated to pick up my Washburn and see if I can make a joyfull noise.... If I could just shoot like Don Ross jams.....yeah, I'll be the next production national champ....sweet....huh, sorry, did you say something?
  19. Matt, what gun are you looking to put in it? I've got one brand new in the package for a Glock 34/35 righty if you're interested.
  20. Just got back from the match and must say that we had a GREAT time. The weather was terrific especially considering what we might have been stuck with(bagged targets and all that jazz). It rained the way to the match yesterday, and it came down pretty heavy last night too. You wouldn't know it though by looking at the range conditions today, no puddles or mud in the shooting areas. The match was a lot of fun and even though there were a lot of close targets, there were some good challenges (i.e. opportunities to crash). Lots of partials with no shoots and hard cover and some stages with classic targets too. It was a shame that more shooters weren't able to make it out, it was definitely a worthwhile trip. The staff did a great job and the match ran so smoothly that we were done with the whole thing by about 12:30 or so. A big "thank you" to all the people that helped to put this together, especially offering the breakfast before the match. That was tasty and enjoyable as well. Congratulations to all the winners, especially my teammate and the fairer of the Fransisco shooters: Megan. Wow, 1st A Open and high Lady! Good job! Sorry about Dave's DQ, major bummer. Hope to see many of you all at the Nats'.... it's gonna be awesome.
  21. I don't know Steve, with Bob, Robby and Edwin (just to name a few) your squad looks pretty super to me.... Safe travels to everyone, see you in Tulsa.
  22. All right! Way to go Skip....... uh, I mean Phil. You can do it!
  23. The Harvard Crew has done it again! What a cool match, and great fun for sure. It was a long day, though; pretty tiring. The stages were interesting to shoot and to look at (cool props and "story lines"). This was my first three gun match and it definately showed; it was a humbling experience to be sure. What the heck, it was fun and enjoyable though and that's what counts. Much, much thanks to everybody that worked so hard to make it happen. I can't say enough about this club and crew... I enjoyed talking with you Dan, and thanks for the shuttle ride. Thanks a lot for the Pictures too Rob, they came out great. Congratulations to the winners, way to go! Now it's time for me to go to work and practice, the Production Nationals will be here soon...
