  1. Oh, I forgot to mention that it was a 14lb WOLFF spring. I tried the 12lb spring and had problems with it. My gun wasn't going into battery reliably. (they don't make a 13lb or I would have tried that next) I used the 14lb spring at the '03 FGN's with 100% reliability. I found that case ejection was a little weak with the 15lb spring, but again it depends on your load.
  2. Mark, it definately depends on what load your using. My minor .40 laod is about 131pf and a 14lb works great. I like the round wire springs as apposed to the flats, but whatever works. I do know that the flat wire ISMI's don't fit on all guide rods though. Good luck. Todd
  3. I used Universal Clays for a while and loved it. I was using it mainly for .40 Limited Major loads but ran into a problem a few years ago when I started loading out to 1.200" OAL. My extreme spread went through the roof. The load was 5.5gr with a 180tmj at 1.200" wsp primer. The round was averaging 945fps but the ES was 130fps. I needed to resupply so I went with TG and have had really good results with it. Same observations as the previous threads. UC is definately cleaner though!
  4. Not to beat a dead horse, but I had the same problem with a bunch of new Winchest .45 brass a few years ago. Due to the lack of lead-in the primers were hanging up on the way in and getting skewed. Glad you got it woked out.
  5. That's what I thought. Thanks a lot for the replys and the info. I'll get to work at the loading bench, the Nat's are right around the corner. Safe travels and good luck to those who are going.
  6. I've read a lot of old posts and asked a few people that I shoot with locally, but I'll put this out here anyway. I'd like to run a lighter (wolff 12lb) recoil spring in my Glock 22 for production. I have a stainless guide rod with which to do it with, but is it USPSA Production legal? The load I'v been using is about 138 pf and if I go any lower with the factory 17lb spring, the gun will not cycle. Before I get the gun dialed in with a lighter load that won't work with the factory part, I'd like a definate answer on the legality of this. Thanks.
