  1. You better put a pastie on that thing.
  2. Nah they just renamed the black talon you can still buy it now as the PDX1 oh and it's not black but it still has the nasty hooks in the back.Or still get it loaded for law enforcement in the Ranger T ammunition. Guess what the T stands for? The first cases of it we got were even labeled Ranger Talon.
  3. What Sarge says. I de-prime and size on a single stage and I can tell a Speer.40 from the others by the lack of resistance. I have also seen nickled Speer .40 brass crack on the first re-sizing. I shot several boxes of Gold Dots and picked up the brass. Out of 150 once fired brass, three or four cracked on the first re-sizing.
  4. This topic was a very entertaining read. Although I do not shoot open, I do own a shorty 38 Super, and I did stay at a cheap ass motel a couple of nights ago.
  5. Mat, Between the cracked spring plugs and the cracked slide you have been having some crappy luck. I so like the purple.
  6. My load for mu Glock 24 was a 185 Precision bullet over 5.7-5.8 grains of WSF. I loaded their length to 1.135+. I have been shooting an STI for a while now but I still have the G24 and three or four hundred loaded rounds.
  7. Sh** happens! Any older prior military service guys remember the TP that was in the old C-Rations? It was almost as bad as the four pack of 20 year old cigarettes inside.
  8. My coffee comes from the nearest gas station or convenience, or sometimes from Mickey D's. But, I just retired after almost 32 years as a police officer and though I have consumed an endless stream of coffee, I have only had "designer" coffee once or twice. My "commoner type" palate would not stand any of the "gourmet" blends. By the way, I have only had one cup of coffee from Starbucks that a friend brought me to the range. It was way over rated.
  9. I've cut three with a Dremel, fine file and sandpaper, all cut to short-flat length.
  10. Sometimes you smoke, sometimes you get smoked.
  11. The store probably got sued when someone swallowed a errant grape (an errant grape?), and their attorney made them post the sign.
  12. Or south Mississippi. Yesterday it was 70. It is supposed to get down in the 30's tonight bu the forecast for Saturday is a low of 61 and a HIGH OF 72
  13. Second for Shay at Akai. He built this 6" for me.
  14. I load 185 Precision bullets over 4.6 grains of N-320, at a length of 1.200. They ran like 171 PF at the Gator classic last month.
  15. This morning I shot 1.125 OAL reloads that I loaded a couple of year ago when I was shooting a Glock (.40). both of my 2011 guns ran the short length rounds without a hiccup. I have loaded .40 Glock out to 1.150 so as to run both platforms. I got to0 that length by tailoring the reload length to what would function in the magazine.
  16. Maybe it was made that way on purpose so you couldn't seat the bullets too deep.(giggles included)
  17. It is the natural aluminum color. I one of those guys that is anal enough about equipment, that I will probably keep polishing it. Or maybe look into anodizing.
  18. Here is my Akai Samurai, 6" Limited, with the newly added Phoenix Trinity aluminum grip. I purchased the grip at the Gator classic and so far I really like the way it feels and shoots.
  19. I re-read your original post and noted that you are shooting a Glock 23, with a 4" barrel. That may be where you are missing velocity. Most semi auto tables list .40 as being test fired from a 5" barrel. Also, I have a shooting buddy with the same CED as mine, and his is consistently like 50 fps slower than mine, even when set up end to end.
  20. I will give you $50.00 and a big box of 9mm brass, just cause I need something to put on the wall for decoration. Pretty crappy old guns anyway. No but how about 1,000 .25 ACP brass, and an ammo can full of used primers?Sold! What's your address to send them to?The shipping from where I live will be $7,500.00. I will require it is paid to me in advance.

  22. I guess my COLT SAA from 1888 is a "stale" gun because it was made so long ago. It is so old that no "knowledgeable" gun shop would take it in on trade for a newer gun Whadda ya think?
