  1. Sheldon and Marci just had a new addition to the family come along recently so they may be a little occupied.
  2. I got mine from Gene Sears shooting supplies in Oklahoma. They still show 4 24" models in stock.
  3. I removed my mid bead as well. The only time I have ever used one is to ensure proper stock mount when shooting clays. It was distracting to me when shooting stationary clays and steel.
  4. I oiled mine with M Pro-7 and greased the choke tube threads before shooting it.
  5. I was going to come down but the weather is looking pretty bad for this weekend. 35 degrees and freezing rain doesn't work for me any more for shooting. Maybe next year.
  6. The only time my spring fails is during a stage at a major match. I go 12" past the end of the tube and change it a couple of times each year.
  7. What is wrong with a 100 yard zero. I use the BRT reticle on my Z6i to match the supplied ballistic data that came with the scope and it is pretty damn close. I have been good to go out to 600 yards.
  8. They have a pretty good program for LEO purchases Pat. I bought my Mark 6 1-6 and my range finder through the LE purchase program and saved quite a bit.
  9. I came from a skeet/sporting clays background so I always clean my chokes when I clean the gun. Each time I change chokes I apply a new coating of Slide Glide to the threads to avoid sticking. I have seen chokes siezed in a barrel and it's no small chore to get them out without damaging a $600 barrel.
  10. Newest rimfire addition. M&P 15-22 with Troy alpha rail, Magpul furniture, and Hyperfire 24c trigger. The sightmark dot will suffice until something else comes along. It's a great rifle for our area steel match.
  11. I was hoping to get in on this as well but now registration is closed. This sucks ass! I guess I will try to make FNH this year instead. It sucks that the 3 gun sport has grown so big that people are turned away form matches.
  12. I can also answer the question asked earlier. The A400 barrel does NOT fit the 1301. I tried today and it's a no go.
  13. I may have to dust off the SV SS .40 and come to this match. It sounds like fun and I have never shot a SS match.
  14. I have re holstered hot pistols in Police tactical 3 gun matches and I didn't feel any danger from the act. You just have to pay attention and get the pistol in the holster smoothly.
  15. I refuse to spend money on any George Clooney movie after his comments about Charlton Heston, as well as his stance on firearms ownership.
  16. Will your A400 barrel work on the 1301? If you don't know, could you please see if it will, since you have both? let us know. Thanks I will check it today when I get home.
  17. The match was great, and I love the liberal use of steel for quicker stage resetting. I was a little dissappointed when I saw the shotguns targets were steel instead of clays. The matchbook looked like clay targets so I was looking forward to screwing in a diffuser choke and having a hosefest. The only thing that sucks is that I have to wait another year to shoot the match. We need to talk Jim into having 4-5 club matches with 6 stages each year. I guarantee 100 shooters would show up at each one.
  18. I have a 1301 and a Salient M2 and both have their attributes. The 1301 weighs the same as a M2 but has less recoil since it's gas operated. I will be smoothing out the loading port on the 1301 pretty soon so I can drop dueces a little smoother. I think the Beretta is a close to an out of the box perfect 3 gun shotgun as you can find right now.
  19. Those stages look awesome! Lots of shotgun loading and long rifle shots.
  20. There is also no need to spend a lot of money on a HD shotgun. I never understood why someone would spend $1500 on a WC 870 so it can sit in the corner of the bedroom and rarely travel to the range. Most HD shotguns will have less than 500 rounds fired in their lifetime so I would just buy a Mossberg or police trade in 870 and mount a light to it.
  21. I live in Bedford, which is in the neighborhood with Southlake. Like Trace (SVCop) says, it's a great area to live in. We can pretty much shoot USPSA, IDPA, Steel, or 3 gun on any weekend during the month so bring plenty of loading supplies. Send me a message if you have any questions.
  22. Mine came shipped with a flush IC choke. I bought an A400 Excel the same day that I purchased the 1031 so I can use the extended chokes that were supplied with the A400. I did try an screw an Optima choke from an old shotgun into the 1301 barrel and it seemed to fit fine but I have not used it while shooting.
