  1. I used 110gr. Hornady Vmax bullets with winchester 748 in my JP LRP-07 with great results. The recoil was nil and they shot tight groups at 200 yards.
  2. I haven't needed my 1301 lifter welded yet. I have been running it since August and it hasn't caught my thumb yet when doing weak hand or load 2 reloads. The 1301 might be new to the US market, but the Beretta gas system has been used here for a while. If anyone knows how to make a robust gas system for a shotgun, it's Beretta. I have an order for a KO right now and I look forward to getting it installed and using it soon. I do want to get together with Trapper or Kurt and see about changing my loading port. It isn't as smooth to load as my Salient M2.
  3. It's just a cheap sightmark holo sight. It has held zero and worked so I haven't had a reason to replace it yet.
  4. I use this M&P 22 at our monthly steel match and it is a lot of fun. Put a good trigger in your rifle and get a Black Dog 50 round drum, and prepare for a lot of smiling!
  5. I won an Adams Arms Evo ultra light upper last month, so I had the send me a lower to complete the rifle. With the AA light bolt carrier and A2 stock it weighs 7.2lbs. With a Leupold Mark 6 And AMD mount it weighs 8.4lbs.
  6. I installed a 24C in a M&P15-22 that I use in monthly steel matches and I love it. My 3 gun rifles are factory JP's and the 24C isn't as crisp as they are but for a quick drop in trigger, it's tough to beat. My .22 is like a bullet hose with the 24C installed.
  7. I shoot 139gr. Lapua scenars and 140gr. Hornady V-Max with good results. Get a 8lb can of H4350 and you will be good to go
  8. One piece of advise I always give new shooters is to look at what the big league match winners are using. Most of them can use any gun they want, but they shoot 2011's, so there must be a reason for it. Once you start shooting a well made 2011 with a good trigger, you will have a hard time going back to a striker fired pistol.
  9. I missed last year but in years past all the long stuff was 10" MGM flashers. Very doable with a 1X optic. I'm thinking I might shoot Amatuer this year since it's only two days instead of three. Leaves Sunday wide open for a recovery day. Recovery? How much you plan on drinking? How much they got? Jesse, you need to save your energy for our new yearly tradition of Sunday night on Music Row.
  10. I have only shot a few matches with the JP/MK6 package, but I had no issues with the holdovers at long range. I loaded a 110gr load for Tx MG last year and the rifle ran flat as a 223. The flicker of the reticle didn't affect me once I got a good eye relief and mount on the rifle.
  11. I have a Mark 6 on my JP LRP-07 and it's a great 3 gun scope. The illuminated part of the reticle is daytime bright and turns into a small red dot at 1x. At higher powers the holdover reticle is useful at any magnification since it is a FFP. The Mk6 is compact and has great glass and probably weighs less than the Vortex, which is also an incredible optic.
  12. I like them both about the same. The main reason I like skate tape is having the option to change the looks of the gun when you want.
  13. I have 2 factory JP rifles in 5.56 and .308 that came with the low mass buffer. I won a captured spring at the Pro Am and installed it in the 5.56 last summer and I can tell a difference in noise but not much else. The only thing you need to watch on the Low Mass buffer is the roll pin holding the nylon tip. It will back out and catch the spring, stopping the rifle. That is the only time my rifle has ever malfunctioned was when this occurred. You will be fine with the buffer, but I recommend the captured spring if you can get one.
  14. When you get ready to look at one, try the best. This is my new Multigun pistol that is ready for the new season.
  15. I meant the PA 1-6. I do have a buddy that bought a sightron 1-7 and he likes it, so you might check them out as well. I want to check out the PA myself as a optic for my new Adams Arms evo ultra light upper that I won last month.
  16. Hyperfires can be purchased from Jeremy at The shooters source.
  17. My M&P 15-22 has a Hyperfire 24C and It was easy to install and has a nice 3.5 pull. I have not had any ignition problems with any brands of ammo using this trigger.
  18. I have really liked my Bobro mount for a couple of years. I rifles with American Defence, Larue, ARMS,and the Bobro is easiest to remove for cleaning.
  19. Seeing that movie strengthened my respect for our military men and women. The reason we have the freedom we enjoy, is because of me like that who sacrificed themselves without question.
  20. I've read some pretty good reviews on the Primary Arms 1-7 that just came out.
  21. I just got this Surgeon .260 and it's a great caliber for reloading as well as shooting. I was hitting clays at 1000 yards the first time I took it out. I also like the fact that I can use brass for 260, 243, and 7mm-08 for my loads. Even during the ammo drought, I could find brass in these calibers since most rifles in those calibers are hunting rifles so people weren't panic buying that stuff. I also have a .308, because everyone should have one in their safe.
  22. I pretty much shoot 3 gun exclusively as USPSA doesn't charge me up any more. As much I like seeing the sport grow, I selfishly don't want it grown to the point where I can't get into matches because they fill up in 30 seconds. I think both sides of this discussion have valid points, but will probably not pull each other over to their side. I just read the rules for each match and try to play by the rules to the best of my ability.
