  1. I picked one up on the Pro Am prize table and installed it in a M&P15-22, and it is very close to my factory JP trigger in my SCR-11. I think the reset may be a little quicker than the JP as well. It was easy to install and needed no adjustments.
  2. Anytime you have a season opener that shows prison sex and someone being drowned in a tub or urine, you know you are in for a treat.
  3. Only two or three guys in the world could have made that shot.
  4. I like the Hi Viz tricomp because they sponsor the sport and the triangle front sight is a good slug sight for long range targets. I use the tip of the sight like a rifle sight.
  5. I come from a Skeet and sporting clays background and have done quite a bit of pattern testing shotguns over the years. I learned a lot when I worked at a shotgun range in high school. Back in the 80's the skeet guns were O/U open choked with short barrels. Now you see skeet guns with 30" barrels and even longer for sporting clays. I have never seen a difference in patterns with longer barrels. The long tubes give the shooter a smoother swing when engaging clays. Short barrels are a bit choppy feeling on clay games but they are great for upland bird hunting. I never saw much difference in velocity between short and long barrels when shooting over a chrono so I don't think you get more knockdown with longer tubes. I have a Salient Benelli M2 with a 21" barrel and a new Beretta 1301 with a 24" barrel. I do like the longer barrel on the Beretta a little more as it feels a little smoother when transitioning between targets.
  6. I think Buds still has them so give em a call!
  7. Contact Jeremy at theshootersource.com for one of his new ones. I installed one on my Nordic tube at Rock Castle and it worked great. They are very well made and come in two colors for now.
  8. I just picked one of these up on a prize table and installed it in a M&P15-22 and it is a very nice trigger. It feels very close to my factory JP trigger in my SCR-11 rifle and only took about 15 minutes to install. I think these will be seen in bigger numbers at upcoming matches.
  9. There were 60 guns on the prize table at the Pro Am last weekend. I tanked a couple of stages and still walked away with $400 in swag that I actually had a use for. I would much rather pay a little more for a 3 gun match with a massive prize table than save $75-$100 in match fees so I can win another flashlight or knife. I don't think this is a big problem with all the major matches having waiting list within days of accepting registration.
  10. Squad 10 was a great group to shoot with last weekend. Two of my squad mates were Navy Seals Aaron and Mike. It was my honor to share range time with 2 American hero's from our most elite group of warriors. Aaron served with fellow Texas Chris Kyle, so getting to know him was very special to me. The Pro Am is the only match that has fun starting after the last shot of the day is fired. I will always have this on my yearly schedule. Thanks to Mark Wills for the very casual entertainment on Friday night.
  11. Mine ran like a top during the AR15.com Pro Am last weekend. A couple of other shooters gave it a try and loved the light recoil and weight as well. I think they will be getting a lot of orders coming their way very soon.
  12. Make sure it's for the Beretta Optima HP.
  13. I bought a Carleson's choke in LM and IC. They are good quality and half the price of Brileys. I paid $23 from Optics planet.
  14. It should replace the recoil pad and spacers that come with it
  15. Not very much at all. You can hear it work when you are shooting. I have decided to bring my Beretta to the Pro Am this year after shooting it last weekend.
  16. I have a new Beretta A400 Exel Sporting with a Kick Off system for shooting clays and it works. I think I will be buying one for my 1301 pretty soon.
  17. I have the same impression with mine. I did both weak hand and load 2 with mine yesterday with no issues. My Benelli might end up being a backup soon.
  18. It was really fast and easy on the shoulder. I ran one of the steel challenge strings in 1.7 seconds so you won't outrun this gun.
  19. I think everyone hit the nail on the head. WC charges $1540 for an 870 that has a surefire forend, new magazine spring, extended safety button, and a duracoat finish. I think most of the shooters on this thread are capable of duplicating this work at home for a lot less money. Tying up $1500 in a home defense shotgun is beyond understanding for me. These shotguns don't make many trips to the range and you can't hunt with them so they sit in a corner of the bedroom and have 150-200 rounds fired in their lifetime. That is unless you go spend more money for one of those high speed, low drag tactical schools for a shotgun course.
  20. The lifter is fine as it is. I practiced loading this weekend and never caught my thumb doing weak hand loads. I can't do a load 2 method as slick as my Benelli right now so I will have to work on that for a bit. I installed a +6 NC tube and it extends about 3 inches past the 24" barrel. I can 11 shells in the tube with the spring cut 12" past the end of the magazine. I still think the 1301 is as close to an out of the box 3 gun shotgun that you can buy.
  21. I would do it as long as I don't have to use their pistols!
  22. Get the Beretta and don't regret it. I took it to work today and ran a couple of boxes through it at our range and was very pleased. It's fast and easy on the shoulder.
  23. You shouldn't need to. The loading port is huge and the lifter hasn't caught my thumb yet in practice.
