  1. High rib like Benelli. Beretta makes barrels for Benelli so it looks close to the same sight picture when you shoulder the gun.
  2. The real fun started when the Budweiser trailer fired up and the red Solo cups came out!
  3. With the +6 tube I was able to get 11 rounds in the tube.
  4. Yes. Just turn the factory sight of with pliers. The HiViz sight comes with the right screw. I used blue lock title on it for a little added security.
  5. Beretta 1301 24" barrel weight-7.23lbs. Salient Benelli M2 21" barrel weight-6.14lbs
  6. Here are some close ups of the action and features. I added the tricomp sight and removed the mid bead because it was distracting to me and I only use one on clay guns to ensure proper alignment and setup for the targets.
  7. The weight is about the same as the Benelli as far as I can tell. I will know more after I run a couple of hundred rounds through the gun but so far it seems like a good 3 gun shotgun. I have done some weak hand and dropping dueces with the Beretta and they rounds go in as slick as my M2. The Salient has a better trigger but that can be fixed on the Beretta as well so I'm impressed so far. It is a lot lighter than the Mossberg and SLP for sure.
  8. I will take some close up pics and post tonight.
  9. Yes it's a 24" 1301. I have a Salient M2 already and wanted a backup shotgun that didn't need a lot of work to make ready. I'm also a huge Beretta shotgun fan and love to see that Beretta has finally decided to jump into the sport and listen to 3 gun shooters on the design.
  10. This is a slick gun. I have installed a +6 NC tube and I'm waiting on the HiViz tricomp sight and Briley chokes to complete the package. The loading port is really opened up and shells go in smooth. Now if the temp will dip below 103 degrees I will go shoot it.
  11. You could shoot the Mossberg as is and save up fro a Taran Tactical M2. Once you have the Benelli, you can keep the Mossberg for a backup or loaner shotgun.
  12. My factory JP comp on my LRP-07 combined with 110gr bullets is very flat and fast on target transitions.
  13. The JP was too short for me so I got rid of it. It was a pistol lenth sight radius that I felt was too slow. I have the Dueck RTS's on my rifle now and I like them. I only use them if I have hoser targets on the way to a long range array so I can leave my scope dialed up all the way. If you can just use your 1x power on the scope it is faster than irons.
  14. Ya know Kurt, some people aren't as awesome at 3 Gun as you. Some people, particularly the new people, it might help. You remember what it was like to be new right? Back when stages were timed with sundials and all the guns had to be reloaded one round at a time because they were all black powder. : ) Plus having to strap your powder horn down to keep it from flopping around while running. Forget it if rain comes, you will never be able to keep your frizzen dry.
  15. We usually have enough down time between stages that we sometimes will skip the walkthrough once our squad is up to shoot. Printing off stage descriptions never really helped me at a match because the scale is too far off for me to break the stage down from a sheet of paper. I'm more visual and need to see the real thing to break down a stage..
  16. I have a Salient M2 that I bought on a team discount when Tony was running their marketing. The gun is a solid shooter and the only problems I have had was from weak magazine springs. That being said, I don't think I would pony up $2900 for one now. Taran designed my shotgun for Salient, so his guns probably have the same features as mine. I would call him and get a shotgun if it were me.
  17. I ordered a Nordic tube +6 tube since I am getting a 24" barrel. The Nova/beretta extreme barrel nut fits the 1301. Now I need a couple of Briley chokes to complete the package.
  18. I ordered one Friday. I should have it by Wednesday or Thursday. I guess I need to order a Nordic tube now.
  19. My biggest question is what does everyone have packed into those full backpacks that they seem to have to carry everywhere?
  20. The new Beretta 1301 might be the ticket. I can't wait to try one out as I have been a huge Beretta shotgun fan for many years.
  21. I have been running a Salient M2 for about 3 years now and I love this shotgun. If I ever have to get another one it will be from Taran for sure as his ideas and designs are in my current shotgun so the TTi should be close to the same.
  22. I have a Leupold Mark 6 1-6x on my JP LRP-07 and I really like it. The Bushnell and the Vortex are also excellent choices as well.

I bought an OBR for shooting HM in 3 gun and ended up selling it to buy my JP LRP07. The Larue was an awesome rifle but was very heavy compared to the JP. I like a lighter rifle and the JP only weighs a bit more than my .223 JP SCR-11 so it was a no brainer for me. I wish I could have kept the OBR as well for some long range shooting but I couldn't tie up that much money in a rifle that I wasn't using very much.
  24. I never needed a cart as most of the bays have parking areas close enough to work from your trunk. I wear Merrells for all matches and haven't seen the need for cleats at this match. I can't wait for the date to hurry up and get here.
