  1. Oh how I wish I could do it....but it always goes off at the shot.
  2. I am just restarting in revolver and I am happy to report that life is good. I found a GM to chase around and consult. Went from C to X to U...to I'll find out next month. Yay!
  3. I didn't see the C&S pin. I was never a fan of the ones I had in my 625. I blew through two of them before moving to an Apex and not looking back.
  4. Bluuuuuuue loctite....blue! Blue! I use a little dab on the strain screw and crane screw. Half a dab on the side plates and the cylinder latch. Oh and you need to let it dry....I never cycle the action until the screws have had time to dry. From Harleys to revos...it just works.
  5. You know, PJL has a nice match layout. You're neutral right up until the field course and even then you can hang if you can recharge the six smoothly enough and it breaks down without static reloads.
  6. I think the tacticool folks realize their skills are not upnto the speed of the competitors around them and then shrink back into their comfort zone of drawing on the square range with nobody around. They're safer there with their ego being the one stroked every time and the situation can be tailored to the gear they have convinced themselves they need. Painting hands on the bad guys hmm? Somebody gets lots of HNT's....muahaha!
  7. Amen brother! I'm glad it works for you. Pocket moonclip protector?? What? Where?
  8. Oops yeah 550...sorry reading glasses cleaned. Sorry I was mistaken. Finally thank you for reminding me that I needed to change the locator buttons for 9mm I have loaded some ammo with the wrong buttons recently. Thanks!
  9. Terribly if it's factory barrel. I had mine cut for Para Clark ramped barrel. Now that is good support. I'd recommend conservative loads...good luck getting the bulge out.
  10. I feel like idpa is no more accuracy based than USPSA. There is a giant circle and a big square to shoot at. If I can hit those things at speed I win the match in smashing fashion. I personally think it's nice not to have to hit the A zone in the head twice to get all the points. If you want accuracy based....try ICORE. That's serious when a man can come behind you and shoot the stage half as fast and bury you with being more accurate.
  11. Hearthco 0.035. Stay away from Remington's they do not stay in the clips well at all. TK 0.035 if you want to go a cheaper route.
  12. OEM clips are generally generous jack of all brass. It's not like you're shooting competitions so nobody should be stepping on them. Winchester should be fine for you. You may look into the specific clips for Winchester ammo. That groove under the rim....was never spec'd out because they never envisioned the adaptation of moonclips when the .38/.357 was created. So Winchester has the skinniest and ¿shallowest? of grooves and starline has the most generous and deepest of grooves. IIRC. Hope that helps.
  13. They used to be 10$ and then they went to $15 it may be up to twenty by now. When they all were $10 one was $15 and only gave three stages. $5 a stage! Then they all cited target price increases and went to $15 for some 4-5 stages. I'd pay $20 for 120 rds and five or six stages.
  14. 38/357 in general but specifically looking at getting more for my 442 moon clip. Sorry the moonclip nerd in me put the dimensions and brass together as .357/.38 subconsciously. I'd wonder what brand your defensive load was and base my clip choice off of that. I would think corbon, double tap, and Buffalo would be starline brass....maybe Underwood too. Super hot stuff. Remington or Federal should take the 0.025. Winchester will be 0.020 if memory serves.
  15. As I understood it from the expletive laced Ben Stoeger podcast with a fella running for USPSA prez...the manufacturers were considering removing sponsorships based on the fact that they felt their products were not as competitive. The same gentleman in the interview conceded the point that USPSA was a slim portion of their market share and they were not going to make guns specifically for us. Now I wonder why they are making the G34, XDM 5.25, and M&P Pro if they aren't listening to the competitve shooting world? Those guns have zero concealed carry potential. They aren't really duty guns; despite whatever the gamer cop is trying to tell you at an idpa match. So they listen to us a little bit, but then they want to flex their muscles and be lazy instead of trying to come up with a more accurate design. Meanwhile the others catch up and surpass them. Glock doesn't seem to mind making odd ball stuff, just look at the G40, so why not have a movement to highly accurize their pistols while maintaining the same reliability? Chuck Anderson is currently testing CO style guns and dots for his dept. Hmmm Your premise might be WRONG My belief is that the long slide guns were created for competition. I said nothing about dots. I was referring to one guy who certified himself to carry a G34 for a competitive advantage in idpa and then got PO'd when we called him out on on his race duty belt. Good for ¿Chuck? and his dept, I hope it works out well for them.

  17. Starline has a deeper groove that the others. They'd be very wobbly in standard clips.
  18. What I can't understand is why idpa doesn't just go with a realistic magazine capacity for each division? Fifteen rounds is pretty much standard everywhere. If the gun won't hold fifteen...you are taking your chances...XD be darned, life is not fair. Let's see the game get serious about a concealment test and then we'll see the XDM 5, M&P pro, and G34...go back to USPSA. What about a division that has full magazines and shoots from IWB holsters and runs whatever it can actually conceal under real clothes(no vests)? Nothing that prints ridiculously. Whatever you can put under a coat and walk around with unnoticed. If you wouldn't/couldn't realistically leave the house with it...you can't shoot in the street division with it. Until then its a harumping joke that is unrealistic and less fun. Biggest detractor of idpa: They want the same entry fee as USPSA for less than half the round count.
  19. I think like anything it depends on the people and the stage designer. The idpa crowd whines more than the USPSA shooters about challenging shots. The movement is less in idpa. The round count is limited to 18 per string also. I got tired of the reloading behind props as it was killing my attempt to beat the autos with a revolver. I was fortunate enough to shoot with GM crossover shooters which offset the self defense crowd which harumped about every gaming thing we ever did.
  20. No, that is way, way too slow. Get some Ready Tactical speedloader holders from cpwsa. For a beginner...get a hoodie that zips and put the speedloaders in that big pocket right by your firing hand. It works plenty well with comp threes. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY ALL THE GEAR AT ONCE. I have beaten enough people at an idpa match pulling from the pocket not to have to change things up with speedloader holders. When you get better at it down the road consider changing things around. Focus on draw and presentations and smooth trigger pull for now.
  21. It was a local match and folks couldn't be "good" enough to let the guy finish? Wow. Retain simple keep on person in belt on in pockets below chest or ammo carriers. Stow before shot. Somebody needs to tell these people they are delaying the match. Or that they are displaying unsportsmanlike conduct...and may be subject to disqualification if they continue...seriously it's a local match...get a life.
  22. Yes, but YOU are the man in charge of the squad/stage. It is inappropriate for you to ask the peanut gallery, certified or not, for an opinion. It is also inappropriate for the peanut gallery, certified or not, to render an opinion. It undermines your credibility and authority. If I were him I would have told you to make the call and then we'll discuss it or kept my mouth shut. If anything your questions should be directed up the match chain of command. It looks bad to the shooters, sort of like...you don't know what you're doing. Yes I realize that match staff are volunteers. I also realize that the club is selling a product to the shooter in the form of a match and feel that customer service needs to be fair, firm and professional.
  23. I see no rule that allows for the peanut gallery's opinion to be counted. I would protest if the So wasn't capable of making a decision and took the peanut gallery's opinion on the call.
  24. Deaf becomes him. Roger that. I'd be needing a can on mine if I were to use it for HD.
