  1. I believe that the brass hardness is problematic due to the lack of polishing post chamber reaming in Ti cylinders same as the 646...
  2. I sent my cylinders to Dave and he made me some very durable moonclips. They survived well at 3gun matches. Of course my perspective remains unchanged. Fair warning to the squad before you shoot eqch time not to step on the moonclips helps.
  3. I shoot the 4.25 because I got a deal on one with three mags back when everybody believed that M&P mags were going to save then from the zombie apocalypse or were using them to shim their mattresses. I have shot the five inch model and didn't like it as much. I prefer 4" barrels in most pistols that aren't 1911's but your balance preference may vary. The only real advantage not being discussed is a bit more velocity out of the five inch for making PF at chrono. Basically if your load is marginal in the 4" it will be comfortable in the 5".
  4. The rules lost all validity with the advent of the the Glock 34. That gun should never have been allowed due to the slide lightening cut. It was and along came the XDM 5.25. There are a number of rules that seem to fit the because Wilson didn't make one. There are also rules because a six division GM thought it was a good idea. He seems to like 8 shots a whole bunch...God bless him. It's just a silly game. Play or do not play, but do not expect something that logically works on the street to be considered for IDPA. They just created a different kind of arms race that is warded over less intelligently.
  5. Love the shirt! I always like to say, "If you step on my moonclips...I'll stomp on your magazines...Just kidding. Or am I?" and then laugh. They are then protective enough of their gear to be respectful of mine. I never have understood that double standard.
  6. A while back I seem to remember a shooter trying to develop a new red dot sight but I cannot remember the thread title or any names involved. What became of this?
  7. Judging by the ninja you've got to be kidding. I'd think a globe front sight would be beat up getting jammed into a barrel. Do correct if I am wrong.
  8. I am looking for an aluminum baseplate for Glock 10mm. Doesn't need to add rounds. Haven't seen anything so far. Any ideas? Thanks
  9. So if I shoot dot on top of Troy same planes...what does that make me? Lazy or ready for the battery to go? For fun I like to shoot an under folder AK with a Krebs peep and see the optics people snicker... I'd like to build an irons toy out of a Ruger 24" upper. Anschutz sights...but that seems a bit delicate for abandonment.
  10. I seem to remember during my search for a raised mag catch that there were several varying heights of raised mag catches. I just picked the EGW. Dawson has some and maybe Wilson has some and they are of varied height. When all else fails check Brownell's.
  11. So if I were to have made a mistake and over crimped my loads...I could essentially remove the decapping element from the sizing die and run that to correct the problem? Why not run a U die as stage one and a stripped regular sizer as the stage after the bullet seating? I have done this in a pinch before to correct ammo that didn't case check, but I worried apparently unnecessarily about compromised neck tension.
  12. I regret to inform you of the double post.
  13. Thanks for the clarification. I was excited for a minute there. Super short piston gun....???
  14. I was looking at machining the 45/60 from Strike Industries to go bump only. I haven't taken my rifle apart again yet to look at the feasibility of this. Bump really is just a short forced reset. I think with a spring kit it could be a light and fast controllable system. ETA the bump position is machined as a much shallower flat across the selector then the conventional fire position so this will not work.
  15. Sorry to resurrect this thread, but has anyone played around with springs on this or tried to fit a 45/60 degree selector?
  16. Ranger...you said Adam's Arms... So is it a piston gun? How does it work with the DGIS BCG that I see them advertised with?
  17. I had to go to an EGW when I switched over to Tripp mags. I was having a devil of a time with feeding in my Delta Elite rebarreled to a P/C ramped barrel. The old colt mags don't work anymore, but they were so soft in the floor plate anyway. Runs beautifully now.
  18. I was referring to a Glock chamber, but was autocorrected. The shooter in question is Leatham. He was the one responsible for the protection on the .45 in CDP according to the word on the range. Who knows if it will be admitted to, but he did help along 8 shot minor in revo...walks like a duck...
  19. This is my new toy: Delta Elite that's actually pretty elite. http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff381/forrestinmathews/Mobile%20Uploads/c3f788b1-6359-4911-a011-9de7f8d24f52.jpg http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff381/forrestinmathews/Mobile%20Uploads/PART_1433379483920_IMG_20150326_150145142.jpg http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff381/forrestinmathews/Mobile%20Uploads/PART_1433379508141_IMG_20150326_181404042.jpg http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff381/forrestinmathews/Mobile%20Uploads/PART_1433378889576_IMG_20150409_232632026.jpg
  20. Interesting perspective sir. I think .40 is definitely not something I'd ever buy brand new. Shoot it from range pick up again and again. I don't do the block chamber on 10mm for large volume shooting. You're braver than I am. I couldn't see the picking up of the large volume of brass in a match. Seems like 10 is popular to those not shooting it at the same time you are making the brass walk. Interesting observation about base line 10mm loads being Major. Supposedly this is why CDP is .45 only in IDPA apparently a legendary shooter was convinced that weak 10 would drive the .45's under a rock. Shame that they listened to him. Ruined a great chance for the 10mm.
  21. This is a USPSA stage in IDPA. You've made a shooting box flexibility exercise with vests and no speed loading. I see now that it isn't the shooter's fault for shooting it in a non ridiculous manner. So no penalty. The stage is likely illegal on minimum visible scoring areas and definitely on conflicting engagement orders. This is a hokified standard with an overdose of blue barrel.
  22. The numbers....if you look it up comes down to a DQ for violation of shooter's code of conduct. (Rule 5.6.4) and then you tell him he violated 3.22.7 (not 3.19.7 as previously stated in error) which is, "I will adhere to the IDPA purpose and principles and will not willfully break any IDPA rule." By intentionally shooting the stage in a way that gained an unfair advantage he has failed to adhere to the purpose and principles of IDPA.
  23. Does the 43 control as easily as the 42??
