  1. Wow that is the pits. I miss my mom every day. Take care, you and your family... WG
  2. Maybe it is really just a matter of what we can or can not get away with with each of the striker fired guns and the size and shape of our hand? I know exactly the little "flip" thing the OP is talking about. It is worse in the M&P for me than any other gun. The only way I can get rid of it completely with the M&P is to stuff my finger as into the trigger, like when I am shooting a 442. I do notice a little less flip with a snap cap (had to go try it) and what I believe to be considered proper technique. I can do the penny thing all day long with my Glocks, 1911 or 2011's just a little harder for me with the M&P. Like Nerd said, so much is imperfect trigger press, but sometimes we do have to adjust as necessary because of our own hand shape. Take care, WG
  3. I say don't worry about what you can no longer change.
  4. While I always enjoy reading Sin-ster's replies, I think it more simple than that (if I read his theory correctly). I simply believe that off hand grip pressure varries with the gun you are shooting. In my case, more off hand pressure is acceptable with the SA triggers, but I find I need more strong hand pressure with the striker fired pistols, and then it varries with which striker fired pistol. I do not get the wiggle with a Glock as much as I do with the the M&P. A lot of the wiggle you are getting, in my estimation, is due to the way the fireing mechanisms work on those pistols and the way the stored energy from the pistols is dissapated. I was playing with a friends XD last night, and found it to be more like the Glock, than the M&P. I am sure that the size of our individual hands comes into play also. Curious, have you tried it with a snap cap? I wonder it that would make a difference, having something that absorbes some of the energy.... I am going to have to try it with the M&P. WG
  5. I vote Tai Chi, I look pretty silly in the unitard, the Gi is easier to keep my gunbelt in place at the range.
  6. This is amazing...Just when I thought I knew something, this pops up. Jessie was shooting Millennium Custom guns, I seem to remember her borrowing a Limcat for some reason, but I recall all of her custom 2011 stuff was built by Derek when I was at their house last year. Derek gives you a choice of uppers, lowers, configurations, you name it, he does it and does it well. I have a couple of his guns. I was turned on to them by Billy. Heck, Dave Sevigny was using an MC gun when he wasn't shooting his Glocks. I think everyone is still curious about what happened with S&W and Jessie, and I am not sure if she even knows what really happened there. I digress, I think the FN stamped 2011's were some funny $#!! Spit coffee all over! I am really curious to see where Randi ends up. Last month on her facebook page she stated she planned on staying with Glock, this month, she is moving on. WG
  7. I have a buddy that has a 9mm, 6" sight tracker (STI Parts built by Derek J)he is selling, this thread is really making me want to call him about it. I really don't need a Limited Steel gun.... Dangit!!! wg
  8. You answered plenty, thank you for the input! Maybe a better topic would be Notable Apps or something like that.
  9. cripes that's funny!!! like the holy land or sompin....
  10. I am going to upgrade my beloved Blackberry and am thinking about switching platforms and operating systems. Which platform currently has the most useful shooting related Apps, Droid or Apple? There is not js for the Blackberry. Help please. I just don't know where to start. I am searching, but am finding so many places to search too. It looks like AA Academy has some great Apps, but there are some for the droid too. I am also not tech savvy regarding EzWinScore, and if being Palm Pilot Scoring can cross over to the Adroid operating system? Which route do you see the shooting community leaning toward? Thank you, Gene
  11. I think it is really funny to hear what people have to say when I tell them I use SG on my pistols. I have yet to get a positive response. I really like it. Less cleaning and less lubing is good. WG.
  12. Edge is a great gun. You plan on shooting Limited Minor, correct? wg
  13. Oak Hill is also very good to deal with in addition to Shooters Connection and Dawson. wg
  14. My production gun is a M&P 9mm. That's why I'm going 9mm with the single stack to keep reloading easier. The 9mm 1911 is a blast to shoot, you will love it. Your stage strategy will be able to stay the same either way with the 10 rounds, I don't think it is a bad move either way. Both will be a fun IDPA guns too. I think you are right on to carry as many mags as possible even if you carry 10 rounds, to help avoid standing reloads, etc.. How many mags do you carry in production? You can really just have the same set up... Have fun! wg
  15. 1. I can't figure out how to insert an image, but can email you a picture. You've seen it anyway. 2. Everything included it weighs about 250 lbs, 39-1/2 oz. (my stock Edge is 37-7/8 oz.) 3. slide with reverse plug is 13-5/8 oz. (Edge is 14-1/8, with plug) 4. Spring is 12.5lbs ISMI (may have a coil or two cut off it), but I know it doesn't weigh that much, the whole gun by itself is only 2lbs 7-1/2 oz. 5. I love the gun, more everytime I shoot it. It really is about how the gun balances, not just the weight, but where the cuts and the milling is done. Mine has a long dust cover, but the weight is taken out so the gun balances inside the trigger guard, right about under the point that the slide stop lever goes through the frame. WG
  16. So you will be shooting Single Stack Minor, that gives you 10 rounds per mag at the start signal, remember that when you order your mags. What is your porduction gun going to be?
  17. I like it, very functional, not overdone, congratulations! wg
  18. Welcome from another displaced SASS Life member. wg
  19. Dawson had metalforms. that is what I just bought from them, they function perfectly in my Kimber 1911 (9mm) lots of good info on this if you look around. wg
  20. As long as Classifiers from Level 1 matches count toward determining your classification, then I do not see why PF shouldn't count too, announced or unannounced. What we do at level 1 matches does affect things all the way to the top. (does that make sense?) wg
  21. Atlanta Arms and WWB have both made minor out of my Para P16. Atlanta Arms makes minor out of at least 2 of my .45s. Fortunately, I discovered this in the back yard and not at a match. BB Interesting, did you contact Danny? It is one of the benefits of shooting their ammo, you can talk to someone that cares about what you think and get real feedback. WG
  22. See this post: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=111434&view=findpost&p=1438998 And a few examples in this thread: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=129946&view=findpost&p=1464245 All the better reason to have a chronograph at Level 1 matches. If a guy buys his ammo, believing it is up to par, they should not be treated as a cheater, but to have the opportunity to know before they go to a larger match is not a bad thing. WG
