Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Not dry firing, but reloading................heres how Take a 4" length of 1" internal diameter car heater hose. At one end cut lengthways slots, 2" long, then hold the fingers thus created together with elastic bands. More bands, more resistance to simulate stronger mag spring. The other, uncut end is then secured to the forward end of the mag tube with a jubilee clip, which also holds the forend on. You can then spend many hours loading shells into the mag tube and even more hours picking them all up from the floor. See y'all Hungary 2012 Geoff
  2. Does anyone have any knowledge of the reliability of Guns4gals.com ? I ordered 1 item for my gal in mid December, it did not arrive, they will not answer my phone calls or emails. My credit card has been charged, and it's only 30USD, but I want what I ordered. Does anyone know them or had similar problems? Geoff over here in the UK
  3. Any contact info for XCC please? looks like just the job for my wife's SX3, which if I ask nicely she may let me bring to the Pan Americans next year. If I am allowed to go of course. Geoff
  4. Ian, ditch the Ben and Jerry (that's cockney rhyming slang as I can't bring myself to say THAT word), put the PG stock on an Extrema 2, which most certainly will work and try pointing the gun at the target. Alternatively carry on as usual, burn loads of ammo and come round my place to fix my boiler Geoff
  5. Given that Extremas and Supernovas are related by birth, can anyone advise us over here in the old country if their safety buttons are the same? I see an opportunity for someone (OK, TRUBL) to sell some more stuff. No one at present seems to be offering a big safety for these guns. Am I sorry to be joining together previous topics? Of course not. See y'all soon ESC'09 Brighton '10 Geoff
  6. Get the bolt release from www.angleport.com Toatally transforms the gun. As for bolt handle, mag tube and tube clamp you have a number of choices, Nordic, Nordic or Nordic. Benelli2 has a big safety on his Extrema, is it one for a Benelli Jeff? Geoff
  7. Having had a play with Jeff's Extrema in Greece last year I had to get one. It is certainly the best gun that I have ever owned, but yes, i know, most were Remingtons. Mine will work anything from 24g 2 1/2" up to 63g 3 1/2" shells. You need to add the extended bolt release as a priority, mine came from Angleport and it transforms the gun. I have not gone with the big safety yet but I might. As for flip up rifle sights, ah yes Jeff, rifle sights, I am looking into it but no news as yet. If not before, I'll see y'all Brighton, 2010 Geoff
  8. Thanks Neil but I looked at you know who's Benelli and the handle is different from my Benellislayer. Geoff
  9. TRUBL, will you be making a bolt handle for the Benelli Slayer? sorry I mean the Extrema2? Geoff
  10. I have had this spring break on my Browning, therefore according to Mike we have freak guns. A bit of pot and kettle Mike? There is a guy on Ebay who sells a tool to dismantle the piston so I imagined the component parts would be available, but no, the dismantling is only to allow cleaning. A new piston and all is well. Things will be better though when the Browning can go back in the cabinet and the Extrema 2 arrives. Geoff
  11. Hey benelli2, I got an Extrema2 too. After playing with yours at ESC06 (how many empties did we get in the air at one time?) it was inevitable. Mine is a 26" black synthetic with the kick-off device that I guess will have to go to comply with standard div. I cannot collect it yet as I am still waiting for my licence to come back to me with the authorization on it, it is still with Steve at Shield Shooting Centre, where everyone who visits has been playing with MY GUN. The cost? like y'all said, it's ugly. But maybe not quite as ugly as the Browning Golds that are quite common now in the UK. Photos? You show me yours and i'll show you mine....When I have some. 12. hope this works www.secureonlineshopping.biz/wychwood/products.asp?recnumber=83 the dog's Geoff
  13. Thanks George, I have ordered some and will give it a try. I shall also take my infrared thermometer to the range next time to answer the temperature question, Geoff
  14. Following on from the previous, I am looking for a way to fix a flip up rear sight to my 11/87 (yes, I know). I have no machine shop facilities so sticky stuff is the way for me. So called 'high temp' epoxies only claim to have a 200deg C limit. I am sure my gun gets hotter than that, then cools down, then heats up and so on. Expansion, contraction, expansion, contraction then 300-400 rounds later the sight falls off. I have tried conventional 2 part epoxy and glass fibre resin. Anyone got a favourite for this kind of job (yes, I know, drill and tap) Geoff
  15. I think I got that wrong first time. Let me try again....... Neil, I often get job lots of stuff from Brownells with no problem, apart from the delay of about 6 weeks due to the export permit nonsense. let me know what you want and I can add it to my next order of Remington(yes I know, Mike45) parts. Or as Ian said Truglo are OK but only if you want Truglo bits. Geoff
