Which tripod is bombproof tough for use with a hog saddle type rest?

The viper is meant to be low profile, like mounted on a milled pistol slide to keep it similar to the location of the sights. Depending on how you mount it on you PCC it may end up too low. Either of them will work great, but you need to factor in the height of the optic and size of the window. I have a Venom and a Razor. They are in the Vortex/ADM mounts and are at a perfect height for my GMR-13.

How light are you looking to shoot? Most people can't tell the difference between an 1145 and a 1200 on the clock in a match. Don't give up reliability trying to run the lowest FPS

From the standpoint of a competition gun I'd say the SV is definitely worth it. If you have the money to burn then go for it. I think that you can get a very decent carry gun for a lot less money though and use that SV coin for a gamer gun.

None of the major matches have a PF. There are a handful that still have PF in the rules for heavy divisions to keep them heavy.

One uses negative constriction and the other uses rifling. So not the same thing and hence my inquiry about someone trying both.

Anyone done a comparison of both of them?

I use the g-code xst 6" holster for my 5.4. If you have a FLDC it will not work though without modification

Much of it is money. A 1911 can be had for 1/2 the price of a 2011 and 1911 mags are roughly 1/2 the price of 2011 mags. I think 2011 reloads are faster but we all know that a 3 gun match won't be won or lost on that. It's a personal preference between cost, fit in your hand, and flexibility of use. I've been shooting heavy for years and it is dying like all the other bastard divisions so anyone looking to jump in is welcome!

I ran it on my 308 for a season and it held up great. Glass is very good for the price point. Illumination is not daylight bright. The drops worked good for me but that is nothing anyone can say without testing it with your gun and your ammo. Well worth it for budget optic!
