Biggest difference is longer sight radius and a little more velocity. It's pretty broad to just try to compare a 5" to 6". Depending on how the slide is lightened and the springs. Some like the feel of one more than another based on different reasons.

I haven't been able to find much on followers for 45 in 2011 mags. Grams lists that they will work for 45, so I'm guessing that is for using the 40 follower? Anyone having good/bad luck with one over another?

We use at work so I've played with them. I don't like the fact that they are WAY lighter weight than traditional rounds. I like them to be the same weight

From my searching it is a matter of removing material on the bottom of the frame. I was not able to find a picture anywhere of where. Anybody have a pic of where to remove to make the SV mag work? Thanks

Who would be a good choice to get a PT grip fitted to an existing 2011 frame? Hopefully someone that has decent turn around time isn't a far fetched hope.

That gun is set up to run minor or close to PF rounds for steel challenge. Prob at least at least a stronger spring. I second the above comment about how you came about this ammo and how certain you are of it being loaded to whatever velocity

Go to a Cabelas/Gander Mtn or similar store that sells all the guns you are considering and hold/touch/shoulder all of them. That may or may not shorten your list considerably.
