  1. ^This, a lot of people are going to get DQ by Power Hungry RO's for just simply adjusting their stocks, turning on their reddots, brushing any dust of the gun while in the unbagging area....
  2. I'm not sure where you heard that. I bought a full bolt replacement from sig for my Gen 1 last year, but be ready to pay, it isn't cheap. Too the OP, contact Sig they will square you away. They will ask you to send them the whole gun though so they can see what happen.
  3. Cool, to bad when it said and done it would cost as much as a new Nova to get them bought and shipped to the states
  4. Our nooks at the club are finally dying. I want to take advantage of possible Black Friday sells to possibly replace them. The Galaxy Tab E Lite 7.0 Caught my eye, It is about $20 more then a Amazon kindle Fire 7. But has a brighter screen and none of the bloatware of the kindle. And Google Play store vs Amazon app store. Anyone?
  5. First completely strip the MPX down and clean all the parts to include taking apart the gas system. If you can pressure wash the inside of the upper receiver I use a garden hose with a sprayer nob, you will be surprised how much gunk is actually stored in the upper receiver. After you spray it clean go ahead and dry and oil it and clean whatever is left. When re-assembling make sure everything in the upper is WELL oiled, barrel, gas piston, etc. On the BCG I make sure that both recoil springs are cleaned and well oiled as well as the plunger, I then use grease on the outer BCG itself. Anywhere the BCG will make contact with the upper you want to make sure is greased. Test fire. If you are still having ejecting issues you might have weak magazine spring issues. If you have a mag that has not been used a lot, try loading it up and test fire, what you want to do is watch how consistent the direction and how far the spent brass is ejecting. If that is fine try your jamming mag and see if it does the same, if it doesn't its time for new springs.
  6. So I'm looking over the format and have a question; This is only a 2-day event on the 2nd-3rd correct? The Friday before is for shooters that are trying to shoot the whole match one day?
  7. My FN SLP sits as a backup gun, and currently setup for Open with speedloaders. One thing that always bothered me about it was it would do a weird hangup time to time where you had to reach for the bolt handle and give it a slight pull back to get the next round to chamber. It didn't happen often but i've seen a lot of FN SLP do this and is one of the reason why a lot of shooters are known as ex SLP users.
  8. Ok Ran great up too 11,000rnds..then back to Sig at 12k...
  9. The MRO will serve you better on the MPX, 25mm objective lens that is completely round will help out with LOS vs that of the DPP. I've had a conversation American triggers about the MPX, and what it looks like is they will release a new hammer design that can be put into a old AR golds trigger that will work with MPX's and blowback guns, They're still experimenting with it if its worth their time to invest building a dedicated trigger. Don't believe the hype on hyperfire triggers, they will also break on the MPX and so far I have heard of two accounts where the disconnecters are breaking. I will either try the Timney short reset 2-stage trigger, or the new KEarms trigger that doesn't use a disconnector. MPX's don't like the heavy's so avoid 147s, mine has ran great with 115s. I would like to see you bring this down to pueblo match one weekend to see how you shred, just don't do it next month... I won't be in the state
  10. So here are my thoughts of my own experience with trying to use a laser in USPSA at local matches. I used a Crimson Trace 206 Green laser for my testing, pairing with my CompM2 aimpoint reddot. BLUF: Not worth it if you have to shoot outdoors in bright sunny days, does fine indoors but unless you practice using a laser (IE learn how how the gun recoils etc) it will always still be faster to shoulder fire the gun. I shot a total of 5 indoor matches and 3 outdoor matches with a Crimson trace 206 attempting to see if there was any benefit of keeping a laser on my PCC gun. I also incorporated some practice sessions to see how I can best utilize a green laser. I only saw a few benefits using a laser and none of which were a glaring advantage of being able to put the rifle on your shoulder and shooting. One of the benefits I saw was first shot fired on target IF you were allowed to point the PCC at the target and you are at a buttstock on belt start. The advantage deteriorates if you need to engage multiple targets from the same shooting position (Think el-press). Outdoors the advantage goes away completely once you get to 5 yards on a bright sunny day, reason behind this is the laser is starting to get to the point where its hard to see and spatial awareness completely goes away once the dot leaves the target from either transitioning to another target or if the dot does leave the target after a shot is fired. Inside of 3 yards in a outdoors setting using a laser was faster then shouldering& aiming with my Aimpoint, although only but 2 to 3 tenths faster from the "draw". What I found interesting is that when engaging multiple open faced targets and points were not consideration I would only clear a set of three targets by .3 seconds faster than I would had if I brought my MPX to my shoulder and shot for A's. Going for all A's using a laser always ended up being about .5 second slower than being able to shoulder the firearm. Indoors, was much better, the laser at 25 yards was as bright as it looked at 3 yards indoors. Also, spatial awareness was much better due to a brighter laser dot and while transition through targets the laser would hit the back stop still allowing the laser to be seen. For accuracy on 3 target arrays, there was no significant difference then what I’ve experienced at the outdoor range although I did see speed benefits at 5 and 7 yards most of the time. Again, these advantages only occurred if starting with buttstock on belt with laser dot already on target. I did not see a significant advantage in times starting with PCC “pointed directly downrange” vs shouldering and aiming, and no speed benefit at all if the PCC is allowed to start at a low ready position. For hard leans and not able to shoulder the PCC: There is an advantage to using a laser both indoors and outdoors when hard leans do not allow the shooter to get behind the gun shouldered. I would say from my testing anything inside 4 yards a laser did have the advantage when it came to accuracy but not so much on speed. If the target started to push in distance indoors (tested distance was at 10 yards) the laser offered a significant advantage over pointing and shooting, in both speed and accuracy. These results were hard to replicate outdoors due the laser being almost impossible to see past 5 yards. Hard leans with being able to shoulder & aim with reddot: The advantage of using a laser in these situations was none existent outdoors, and didn’t provide a significant advantage indoors either. My conclusion is that while a laser is a significant advantage indoors vs outdoors, I find that real world match use you are spending less than 2% of your match time finding yourself in those situations where a laser is beneficial. I’m sure with practice a laser can be a good tool but as of now I no longer have my laser on my PCC gun and I do not see me spending the money on a laser system if and when a brighter outdoor laser becomes available.
  11. There is to much for me to say about my shooting in the past 4 months, so I'll just highlight, First thing, At the beginning of May I no longer shoot on the Rudy Project Shooting PRO Team. Kevin Gentry has been a great Teams Manager, and Rudy Project Shooting Team has treated me well over the past 6 years, but I had a opportunity come up that I could not pass up. I am helping test bed practical action shooting sports in the United States Army Reserve Competitive Marksmanship Team, and this is HUGE. Traditionally the USAR-CMP only supported bullseye style sports, IE Highpower, with International Combat Shooting being the exception. So it is a Honor and a giant Privilege to represent the USAR in Practical Shooting Sports. In May I shot the He-Man 3Gun Nationals in Raton NM in He-Man irons division, and for the match I did fairly well. I kept my act together for most of the stages only having issues with my last stage of the day, and by then I was exhausted and tired of being cold and wet due to the rain. I ended finishing 3rd behind the usual suspects but closed the gap from first at 93% This past weekend I finally got to shoot a LVL 2 match in PCC division at the Mile High Showdown that Cha-lee is the Match director for. For the past three months I've been having nothing but issues with my MPX with double feeds, stove pipes and everything imaginable. In little over a year of owning the firearm I have put 12.5k bullets through it and around 10k+ I started to have issues. We had a local match the Sunday prior to MHS and I couldn't make it 3 or 4 shots in before it started to jam. So I took it all apart, replaced every spring, ultrasonic every part and test fire to only find it doing the same thing, now luckily for me I have great friends who allow me to borrow guns in a time of crisis. So I borrowed a friends Gen 2 MPX upper and slapped all my reddots and gen1 lower and I was good to go. The Gun ran 100% during the whole time at MHS, and for the most part I stayed on top of my game through out the match. My contour died on me sometime after the second stage I shot and I didn't notice till sometime after lunch so I wasn't able to get all my stages recorded but I did get lucky and did get a few with my phone. Results here: https://uspsa.org/uspsa-display-match-results-detail.php?indx=21707&division=PCC&guntype=Pistol The Gen 1 MPX is heading back to Sig to see what they can do to repair it, as of now I picked up a Gen 2 MPX Carbine so I can still shoot PCC locally and also to provide a backup gun for majors and not have to worry about filing another Tax Stamp for a SBR. With Mile High Showdown behind me, my next match is the Nightforce 2 gun match, which I have not touched my LR gun in over a year, so this will make thing interesting, also following weekend will be the Colorado 3 Gun Championships that I will be shooting Limited in. So yea game on.

So I went back on SP Website and they added pics of the adapter plates that where not there before. It shows where you are supposed to file.. I filed the other side ?

Had to file a little the on the mount as it was a little to big. I also had to use the screws that were on the irons as the ones that came with the mount were to big on the heads. It did not fit through the slide. But here we go Burris fast fire on a xfive.
  15. "Staff will shoot through and for score 2 days prior, them it's main match GO time" Jimmy, any chance you would allow paid shooters to shoot two days prior for those of us who are traveling to Area 3? that same weekend?
  16. Understand that if you are using two sighting system, (scope and RDS) on your rifle you will be shooting in open Division. Otherwise if that is your intent to shoot open, the warne 45 degree offset and a Burris fast fire is all you need
  17. Your bolt/BCG is accelerating forward to fast, for now remove the low mass bcg and replace it with a full mas then see how it does. Or replace the silent capture spring with a normal spring and buffer.
  18. Dryfire practice is ok, however it will not tell you how your rifle handles after the shot has fired (recoil and all that jazz). You really need to get out on the range and work on this one. My normal regiment when I practice rifle is 18inch gong at 200 yards. Reason being is there is a huge 18inch gong at 200 yards already setup :).
  19. Lets see, I own 3 20 inchers which one is a JP, 3 18 inchers two are JP's and 3rd is 80% JP, and Wife owns a full 16in JP, and I built a 14.5inch "duty" JP rifle. The only time I run the 14.5 inch barrel are for those matches that say "No competition guns allowed." it zeroed at 300 yards and have hit 400-500 yard targets in practice with no issue. My wife's 16inch JP-15 Is actually pretty awesome, light and doesn't recoil to harshly. She's used it for 6 years at RM3G with no issue, you will need to run heavier bullets though for the farther targets to get a harder hit on steel, but 55's are super accurate out of the gun even out to those ranges. The 18er's are my goto 3gun rifle, I just burnt up a barrel on my main gun and its now my dedicated bay burner / local match gun. I just recently built a duplicate of my main rifle with updated JP parts (new comp) and a little lighter hand guard Samson MX vs Samson EVO. the 3rd 18" gun has a scope sitting on top of it if I ever decide to go shoot Tac ops or Open again. At 25 yards, I can double tap the headbox on a full ipsc with no issue, and the 2 18" JP guns are as light as my wife's 16inch JP rifle, the 3rd weighing a little more due to scope. Two of the 20" inchers have true irons, one setup for NRA High-power, and the other more old-school 3gun style setup with front sight pushed out to the muzzle break (JP), the 3rd is a team rifle build that I will use for precision rifle team matches. the Jp is about as light as I can get her, and she weighs as much as one my 18" guns, the only issue I would have with it if selecting a match to shoot with it is the side to side swing. The extra 2inches out in front does slow the rifle down enough were it will matter on those style of stages. If your looking for best "all-around" rifle and your matches consist mostly bay shoots I would run a 16" barrel. If you want that "all-around" feeling but do mostly field style matches I would recommend the 18inch and the reason I would suggest that is lower recoil impulse so its easier to stay on target also make faster makeup shots incase you miss longer steel and the extra velocity helps. The 14.5 inch guns is OK.. but even for the bay matches I've shot you have plenty of room to swing a gun on the stage, the length of the barrel doesn't matter until you run into stages with tight wall shots like we are now seeing in USPSA with PCC, which right now I have a form1 on a AR-15 lower now due to that reason. This is just my two cents.

    P320 X5 Thread

I ended up picking up one last week. Question, how is the trigger that comes with the X5 any different then the drop in replacement flat trigger that GGuns sells? the X5 has a ton of creep as the trigger is being pulled.
  21. You know what, I just replaced the bolt with a JP308 bolt just before RM3G Last year. I wonder if it's the extractor the comes with the jp
