  1. Just any run-of-the-mil tactical flashlight will work on your shotgun. No need to over think it.
  2. I was trying out a 60* Lock piece with 124gr at PF of 158-161, and it wasn't enough to run 100% reliable. possibly changing out to lighter spring in the the SCS would had helped but technically the 60* Lock was made for HK's that were using 40s&w.
  3. So I was messing with the JP rifle builder site and noticed you can build a JP5 rifle with a JPFC-M Modular Trigger. Any confirmation if that trigger actually fits in the the JP5 or could it have been a mistake?
  4. Wouldn't it be easier to make it a habit of double checking your turrets before you are on the line?
  5. Thanks for the answers, I had clarified with the MD prior to the match start and as it was answered here, yes you can however it must be attached the whole time. To answer some questions, sometimes you just find a advantage for more stablation at longer shots at matches that have 80 yard shots...
  6. Dumb question, but I'm looking over the rules for PCC division and I don't see any specific ruling saying a PCC can't use a bipod. What would be the call if I used one at a USPSA lvl2 match?
  7. Local gunsmith. I was the "experiment" to see if he wanted to offer this as a service.
  8. Recently I had one of my old custom 9mm STIs refinished and cut with a Springfield prodigy AOS reddot plate so I can play in Limited Optics. (Trying to avoid buying a Atlas Athena...) Everything put together and I have a small amount of overhang of the optic over the barrel. Now I have put maybe 200 rounds through it with no issue besides my barrel might be shot out (pistol is well north of 60k+), but I'm not sure if I'm lucky as I heard you don't want any overhang with a sro or you could induce stoppages. Pic attached.
  9. I ran this at RMR and had zero issues at the Chrono/gear check in. Although the at home scale said with mag this was at 44.6 ounces and the scale at RMR tipped in at 44.9
  10. For me it's more to do with holster selection. One holster allows me to use every pistol I compete with. Also doesn't hurt it adds a few ounces to the pistol.
  11. A set of P320's I'll be bringing to RMR this weekend. both weigh at 44.5 ounces with mags in them.
  12. Correct we don't always run a classifier, and I don't plan on running one this coming match either. The USPSA match sells out quick. The practiscore link registration will open Friday evening and will close prior to the match but we sell out the match well into the Saturday.
  13. I'll be hosting a new Indoor venue for IDPA in Colorado Springs starting on evening of April 9th at DCF east location. Match will consist of 4 stages running in two different bays (3 scenario and 1 standards) and safety briefing will start around 6:30pm to 7pm. If you are interested or need more details please click on the practiscore link below. If you have any question I can answer them here. Thank you https://practiscore.com/dcf-east-idpa-indoor-match-april-9-2023/register Stages attached
  14. To ensure the growth and success of a sport, it is crucial to attract new participants. Unfortunately, in the case of 3gun, the majority of its enthusiasts belong to the previous generation of shooters. As someone who began participating in this sport in my late twenties, I am now 41 and still considered one of the younger members that shoot 3gun in my area. This trend does not bode well for the future of the sport. When observing the younger generation of shooters, I've noticed that they tend to gravitate towards the division their friends participate in and already have the necessary equipment for. For many, this happens to be 2gun, which has a lower entry barrier and allows those to compete at a high competitive level with a basic setup consisting of an off-the-shelf AR, pistol, and magazine pouches. In contrast, 3gun requires a specialized shotgun that often requires modification, which is not really readily available from mainstream manufacturers. In addition, unique shell holders are required, further complicating the process. It's important to consider the perception of shooting in the broader community as well. Influential gun personalities like Garand Thumb and Lucas from Trex Arms have followers numbering in the millions across social media platforms, while actual pro shooters such as Daniel Horner and Max Michael have less than 40k followers. Exposure is essential, and “Gun influencers” are not promoting the next great shotgun designed for 3gun.
  15. So if the STI XC is allowed, would the Atlas Erebus be allowed also? https://atlasgunworks.com/cache/image-full-50033-73216b8e59713e81042a91d45efd6b22.jpg
  16. That's a perfect thank you! FYI, this isn't a "CO" competition gun and serves another purpose.
  17. I just replaced a Romeo 1 pro with a Romeo 2, and so far enjoying it. But with the R1pro with protective shroud the co-witness between the reddot and irons was about a 2 inch difference at 10 yards which was perfect. The Romeo 2 on the other hand feels like there is about 8-10 inches were the reddot is above the irons, I would like to bring that down a bit. I believe the original front sight height on the x-5 is .240, and I'm not exactly a math wiz but how far down will a .330 front blade bring down the dot vs a .360 or .370 at 10 yards? I'm not looking for true co-witnessing, but in a case where the dot either dies, crashes, breaks, etc. I would like to have enough useful sight picture to get through a training event or shooting a stage.
  18. I run my shortie MPX Suppressed, old school RTV on the charging handle works amazingly, and saves you $100+
  19. I ran a RCM branded 60* Lock Block this past weekend with the M882 ammo, and this has been my experience so far. I ended up doing about 300 rounds of testing indoors and only had one FTEject after I want to say the 5th or 8th round fired. Afterwards I went to clean the JP5 out and it ran flawlessly. Then I went to shoot a outdoor match the next day. The temperatures hovered above 35, and on the first two stages I had issues. On the first stage I had a failure to Load from the magazine after the 3rd shot, at the time I didn't think much of it as I forgot to bring my normal mags with me and the only 2 mags I had was one 31 round glock mag, and a MBX 155 with long extension that i haven't tested yet. I figured the the FTL was due to not breaking in the MBX mag prior to the match, so I did a rerack and shot the rest of the stage with no issues. On the second stage, I experienced a similar failure to eject that I did the day prior during testing. After that I replaced the 60* block back with the original 80* block and didn't have any issues for the rest of the match (Gun wise anyways, mentally is a different story) I think with warmer weather and warmer ammo the 60* block would run with no issues. The Indoor range was about 70 degrees with the ammo being in the office all day, were when I shot the match the next day everything was just cold. Its a pity, the 60* block with M882 ran as soft as it did with the MPX maybe even a bit softer, but the setup at least for now is to unreliable. I want to try a 70* block but JP doesn't sell directly to Colorado Shooters, so I can't order online from them and none of their distributors are currently stocking JP5 Locking blocks. What makes the matters worst is HK No.29 locking Blocks are impossible to find also. I want to put another 2k rounds through this before the start of new year before I give the JP5 a honest review, so far when I got it last month I think I'm around 2.5k-3k rounds fired (need to look at my notes) on it between testing practice and matches.
  20. Ha... 30k+ and 3 mpx's later. The MPX to me is like dating a crazy hot psychopath. When there is no issue it's the best times of your life...
  21. So can someone educate me on *blocks? Mine came with a 80 from JP, works fine with the 115g M882 ammo I'm currently using, but my question should I look at going with a 90 to 100* block since M882 is a bit hotter then normal 9mm?
  22. I went with a Vortex Razor MRD. Biggest reason is that you can turn on the dot from the top. Most of the MRD that I dealt with where all left side activated, which unfortunately covered or partially blocked by the scope ocular side.
  23. New email came out The MasterPiece Arms Racegun Nationals Open & LimitedOctober 14-15-16 (staff will shoot Oct 12-13)CMP Marksmanship Park Talladega, ALThe Blue Bullets PCC & Production NationalsOctober 21-22-23 (staff will shoot Oct 19-20) I no longer see Sig Sauer name tied to Nationals as the title sponsor, did they pull out due to the move?
