  1. Yes though it be quite a lean, the no shoots where placed to block the two targets in the middle from being shot from the left side of the wall to protect the far walls from being cross shot.
  2. On Sunday I put together two stages for my local USPSA match. A recent graduate of the CRO class told me that my stage was illegal because it required more then 8 shots from one location. I argued that no as you had ample room from "both shooting" areas to move around. Attached is the stage diagram. Linked is one of our open shooters doing a POC of the stage, the stage starts at 1:14 in the vid PPPS 16-98b.doc
  3. JP gets really busy during the holidays, I've been working with them trying to get a barrel system for the past 3 months. Calling them just before they open up seems to be the best way to get ahold of them if you don't have one of their private numbers :P. Which I don't have
  4. My Sig MPX groups chest A-zone at 100yards. Past 50 yards we are really asking to much for 9mm to do.
  5. On (3) I say the recommended minimum size mag you need is 32. On (4) not important in USPSA unless you screwed up. IDPA not sure on what rule set they'll use.
  6. For me it doesn't matter what MOA dot I use on my PCC gun. Reason being is that no matter how many times I mount and dismount the gun, anytime I aim down the sight the dot will be there. I'm not "hunting" for the dot like I would with my open pistol. I know the dot will be close to center of the optic without needing a lot of adjustment. Right now I'm running a 4moa dot but had ran 2moa dots on rifles for steel challenge and stayed under 80sec on full steel courses.
  7. To do well in PCC is simple, don't be scared to go fast. Shooting on the move, shooting while exiting, shooting while getting into position, learn what your PCC gun does when you pull on a double tap at 5, 7,10,20,25 yards. Can you keep in the Azone at 25 pulling the trigger as fast as you can? if not, what happens if you grip the hand-guard even harder? how fast are your transition from target to target, are you waiting for the "A" sight picture or you going and ripping. If I'm in indoor range, I'll try to setup 2 IPSC targets next to each other and practice transitions between the 2 at various distance, if I can get only one lane I'll practice getting headshots only at 25 yards with a par of 1 sec from the low ready. If outdoor practice moving and shooting, how fast can you move, how fast do you need to shoot if moving sprinting, how fast you need to shoot if your at a low prowl. All I can say learn to just shoot on the move. Anyone can shoot a PCC gun fast while standing still, the ones that will win are the ones that are shooting fast moving fast.
  8. I would assume so as Wilson Combat doesn't make a 10" version of their Carbine. Enough to warrant me buying one when originally I was against it
  9. The other guy could not finish a stage that was worth 120pts, He was beating you by atleast that already. The worst he can get is 0 points no matter how many misses he had.
  10. OH! Sorry that's not going to help you, my FN had to be modded to accept the Xrail which reduced the stock configuration to 5 shots. I use a +8 to achieve 13
  11. Results: https://practiscore.com/results/new/28790 This past weekend I took advantage of visiting the in-laws place and took my father-in-law to the Weld USPSA match to do a little PCC shooting. The weather was cold but warmed up into the high 50's by the time the first shooter started. We had a total of 11 PCC shooter's, which as far as I know this is the most we had at one match at any given time. I only had one brain fart for the match, the first stage (stage 5) I shot was a wide open 32 round stage and I honestly didn't give it enough attention as I should, with everything out in the open and close I figured out a plan and did only 1 or 2 walkthroughs and called it good. What I didn't expect was almost going empty on a 40 round magazine, and trying to shoot a very small plate (bowling pins) from a far distance, to top it off I threw a Mike on a headshot and on the last paper target against the wall I completely forgot to even shoot it. While my time was one of the fastest for the stage going 40 points down from penalties and in turn not really having a great run ended up losing around 40 match points. On stage 2, I thought I had a great run going but ended up being beat by one second with the same hits by a GM who was shooting PCC for the match. Unfortunately his gun suffered some set backs through out the match so he couldn't be competitive which was a bummer, I would really like to see where I would really stand if a GM took up PCC and shot it seriously. Cha-Lee also took a half second on me taking the overall for the stage because of Major scoring (Same hits). The only place I think I "could" had made up some time would had been in the first position, I got in it deep to shoot the 4th target when I could had shot the 4th target on the move after or before the second port. My thinking was it would eliminate one transition and in theory should be faster, but when it was said and done I ended up needing to get to tight in the first port which cost me some time. Other thing I could think of is maybe sprinting and shooting on the close open targets. While I was moving I wasn't moving as fast as I could to the next position as I was focus on the gun to get the targets in front of me. At that Range I don't really need the greatest sight picture to get hits and snap shooting would probably had been good enough. Stage 3 was the classifier. After looking at the starting position for PCC, the crazy lean I would have to do, and looking at my AZS app. I decided that there was no way to achieve a 95% or better HF. So I decided instead of chasing the classifier I would just shoot it for match score. I ended still doing good on it but at a 78% national hit-factor, just well enough for it not to count :P. None of the GM's at the match were able to achieve a GM HF in their division on this classifier, though one got close in limited. Rest of the stages went as well as my current skill set will allow. Things I would like to practice. My splits at open targets 15 yards and in while I'm flat footed is about .15 to .18, but I can't seem to match my transitions splits. I'm not sure if I'm so focus to make sure that first shot is A that I'm slowing down just a little to much during the transition. I want to setup a course where targets are at 5 yards and in and just sprint through and snap aim to see where I'm at. I'm noticing that during shooting on the move when there a few targets close to each other I'll keep my head in the scope which I believe slows me down just enough, but enough to make me go slow. Don't be afraid to get close to target just because I have a PCC gun, I Often think I can take the perceived advantage of the extra stability that I take longer shots then I need too. Stage 5 would be a great example for this.
  12. MPX SBR, trigger replacement is easy just like AR.. just make sure you bring another trigger as back ups?. Trigger companies are trying to race to make a trigger for the MPX. THE gun is a little hard on triggers So far I smoked a timney at about 1500-1600, the giessle s3g has about 5k on it now but heard rummers people are smoking them at 3k. Giessle will release a MPX only trigger here soon and Tommy thacker said the new 2 stage timney at trigger will work out of the MPX. If I can get ahold of a hyper fire 24c or 3g, that will be the next trigger I'm going to try and burn down.
  13. Boy... 10 inches doesn't give you a lot of room. I barely made it on my MPX with the lantic dragon break. No way would it made it with the stock birdcage.
  14. So far everything I've shot has been based on open HHF, good or bad.
  15. When I first shot open I converted my FN SLP into a open shotgun, I ended up using a Xrail and Arredondo speedloader and tubes with a delta point rds. but I've ran a single tube that gave me 13 rounds without no issues with the Nordic tube spring
  16. Looks like IDPA is going to recognise PCC in 2017 with some rules. Min: 10" barrel 10rnd max limit
  17. https://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-classifier-lookup-results.php?number=TY61531 This is in relation to my PCC Class. So I need some help on this. my Best 4 out of 6 initial PCC classifiers put me at 86.46615, which should be Master. The weekend following we shot a Superclassifier, I had a 100, 96.8, 86, 84.2, 83.7, and a (?67.5?) count for me for my recent 8? This in turn knocked off a 100% out of my recent 8. Fast forward today. El Presente will be a 98.6. I have 2 questions; One, After Tuesday will I be sitting at 94.2% or 96.04% How did a 67.5% count as my most recent 8 if I was already classified as a Master in PCC? Shouldn't it be status B "This score is more than 5% below the minimum score for your current class and cannot be used. " ??? The math doesn't add up. Maybe someone smarter then me explain this.
  18. Was able to get out to the range after my wedding. I ended shoot pretty decent, with only a couple of minor mistakes, I wanted to focus on aggressive movement and shot placement and for the most part I did just that. Here's the video from this match minus to classifier. results here: https://practiscore.com/results/new/28483
  19. MY JP 6.5Grendel has a Bushnell Elite 3-12x. Good scope but I had to steal it off another gun. When I get the scratch I'll probably end up getting a XTR-II 3-15 with SCR
  20. 8.7 of HS behind a 115 is my 9Major load for my Open gun. So yea that will work a comp lol.
  21. Since last time I posted, I've only had the opportunity to shoot a hand full of matches to include The Resurgance 3gun match in Logan NM. I've already posted a long thing in the 3-Gun match discussion thread so I'll leave it their. Things to take though is I ended placing 7th overall in the match using a scoped minor rifle and major .45 pistol. Next year I'll be bringing precision ammo for 300 yard standards, and I'll more then likely be bringing a .40Cal STI even though I did pretty damn well on standards shooting a XDM. I had several FN "jams" on my shotgun but it didn't really cost me much time. Since then I've had a opportunity to shoot two local USPSA matches, one a indoor match and the other a Super Classifier. Both matches I shot with my MPX PCC gun. For the Indoor night match, I was helping a fellow shooter out as it was his first match and he wanted to compete with his Scorpion EVO. We also had a 3gunner shoot his PCC gun, so in total with me another guy and those two we had 4 PCC shooters: https://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-display-match-results-detail.php?indx=18766&division=PCC&guntype=Pistol For the match it went ok, I did end up chucking two Mikes. both in hardcover, one due to Dot Offset, and the second miss was due to a un-normal tough shot on a horizontal Metric target with the upper part being Hardcover. I didn't give the target enough attention and putting a nice pair in the Azone... except one of the azone shot was hardcover. The other hardcover was just because of Dot Offset. I have to remember at the really close targets I have a 3inch POA/POI that I need to compensate for. For the Super Classifier I went into complete Hero or Zero mode. Ended up doing well on 03-09 at 97%, 99-46 at 100% and 13-03 at 95%, as well as picking up a bunch of 80%s on the rest of the stages that I didn't blow. Those haven't been posted yet as the stats lady was out of town but my classification updated today without those classifiers and I'm sitting at 86% in PCC. So depending how the math is done I'll be either 91% or 92% when the super classifiers kick in, but what will suck is that my next classifier that I will shoot will bump off one of my 100% stages And then I'm not sure how it will work after that since 5 of the 6 classifier that will count where all shot on the same day. Do they just kick out the worst score from my "current" 8 or is there another chance I'll lose another one of my 100% two classifiers later? Anyway it will work itself out later, I just hate being this close only to lose to good ones later I'll be on hiatus from shooting for probably a month. This coming weekend I'm getting married, and we'll be heading off for the honeymoon right after. Then after that I have no real big matches in 3gun coming in a few months so I'll being going for the GM grind for PCC.
  22. When I was shooting Open exclusively I would have to check my DOT just before every major match. I have had my dot drift two times that I can remember, but I always chalked it up to a couple things, either I would be using different primers then before or a different brand of bullet. But I only really noticed it when I went to a side mount Cmore. If I decide to go back into open I'll be putting a RTS sight on the open gun and reserving the old Cmore to a .22
  23. 115 Poly TC behind 3.4 or 3.6 grains of Titegroup at 1.15 , that load runs in all my 9mm guns.
