  1. Ordered one to play with, got it today. Mini is a true word, and we aren't talking heavy metal on this puppy. Experimenting with it went well, did a basic setup using the Dillon powder funnel, sent an email asking if I had t use the enclosed one or if I could just us the Dillon. Seats great in spot 3 on my 650, had a brief concern before getting it that it would interfere with the Redding Bullet Seating Die, but there is adequate clearance between it and the powder measure. Turns easy enough to cycle through the tubes, and if I see any issue off the bat, need to have a couple of these loaded and ready to go - just like primer tubes. May run some this weekend and will give an update if I do.
  2. Death and resurrection. Couple years ago one of our major clubs, which hosted section and area matches, died for a season. New people came in, took over, revitalized the program with help from those who had gotten burned out before. They never lost the love for the game, just the drive to be the only people doing anything. Club just recently hosted the area match. That being said we are seeing more people from other clubs going to help to setup at other clubs, nice, but in the long term, not what we want. I was pleased, however, to see new people step up and work the area match. Hope that enthusiasm carries over to monthly matches.
  3. 13#. Try running a 15. Wolff or ISMI?
  4. What poundage are you running on the recoil spring? Might be a factor in your perceived sluggishness.
  5. 3.4 grains TG under a 147 grain Zero JHP or FMJ - 138-140 PF, 1.130 OAL. My G34 likes it hot. I've been running this load for years and always have no worries at chrono.
  6. I just have a clear silicon tube over the end, some extra from my brewing supplies, just enough to go over the end and stop primers from possibly flying. When I see a primer there I take it out. I like the other ideas, though. Tried the .40 case last night, meh, not a fan.

IIRC, the 245 is supposed to work best with the 34/35. 215 for the others, however, I run a 215 on my 34 and it's just fine. Probably just compensated for any differences over time. Wasn't until well after I had been using them that I found the 245 was for the 34/35. Can't remember what site I saw that on, maybe CPWSA.
  8. +1, exactly what I found. Now I've loaded 3-4 thousand since I got my little unit and am quite pleased with it, just did another 1k last night with no problems. Loads win, fed and cci without a hiccup.
  9. Get some alcohol wipes in the little packages at the drug store, keep some in your range back. Good to remove adhesive.
  10. I was CRO on that stage, but it's for Ben to discuss. Smoking run until it happened.
  11. aah, okay, have not gotten the A8 ballot yet, did not see anything on the webpage for online so it must be printed on the ballot.
  12. If you are shooting matches, you are involved enough to vote.
  13. I bought an older, used 650 from a gentleman who had it stored in his garage. Almost all of the black metal pieces had some rust on them. Had to take it apart and use a dremel to clean it up. Rust is gone but the pieces show some pitting. Still functions great, though.
  14. I tried hooking up an external Western Digital usb drive to my Galaxy Tab, but could not get it to recognize it. Has the ability to read a usb thumb drive, just won't do the external hd.
  15. Stupid TV. That's where the period goes.
  16. While I am personally not in favor of Rimfire, I encourage every poster who is to volunteer at their home club and set it up. Do the leg work and see who comes. If you like the idea,do the heavy lifting on it.

    Sniffles and sobs are okay....
  18. Same here, got my Life packet last week and am quite grateful to Sarge for the link!
  19. Was notified and within two minutes of the notification, I was on the midway site and they were gone.
  20. Likewise. I have loaded tens of thousands of 9mm with TG at 3.4 grains. A double charge is absolutely noticeable - if you are paying attention. Not the powder, not the press, operator error. It's the Indian, not the arrow.
  21. At the Florida Open this year there were a slew of magnets with production shooters, all international. Saw more magnets in one match than I saw in a decade.
  22. It was a fun match, planning to work and shoot it again next year if they have me!
  23. I did that bounce back in production a number of years ago. Found a bit of improvement using the black but that faded once I got used to it. Jumped back to fiber and had another upturn. All this on a G34. I do some dry firing with my 34 and occasionally pull out the G22 which has black front, and find I really don't like it that much. YMMV. Just came down to what I saw better with which was the green fiber. As we say for everything, pick one, practice and all will be well.
