  1. Kevin, I may have some locals here in Western PA who may have an interest as we are not doing any this year (as of yet).
  2. Add in the end of cof ritual with the bullet flip and funky catch, and you have quite a show. Maybe the command should be "Are you ready...to be entertaining?"
  3. But so many shooters NEVER shoot anything except local matches. Out of the several hundred shooters we have in our email database, maybe 10% shoot Level 2 or 3 matches, the rest stay local. I don't agree that it is not a big deal for those at the local level. We may be seeing chronos at our classifiers in 2013.
  4. LOL! This is why I did not sell my 550 after getting a 650! Addictive little booger it is. I also said I was only going to load a few hundred - 1K rounds later....
  5. Zero 147 FMJ's in stock, JHP's - unknown date.
  6. +1. I've won some High Senior Production at Area and Section matches over the years and enjoy those, but never went out with the intent to win that. Always planned to shoot my best and see what happens. I don't look at match rosters to see what class anyone else is who is shooting or who else is Senior,so I never really know who the other competitors are other than those people I happen to know. I don't care how good or bad they shot a stage or where they are in the standings. I go out to be the best I can be at any given time. Sometimes I am at the top of my game (which is still in the middle of the major packs) and sometimes I am not. Regardless, my goal is always to shoot the best I can, to improve as much as I can from where I was and keep on slogging away. My competition is me, and me alone, so it is always relevant.
  7. Too true! Imagine how much more interesting a major match would be if the super squads were broken up, top shooters scattered into different squads with lower classed shooters, not knowing/seeing how the others are doing....
  8. I have an older 650 with the old style powder assembly. I am finding the powder safe arm popping out of the holder. I have the spring and blue lock nut tight enough, but they are either loosening through a session of something else is happening to cause the arm to pop out. I have replaced the plastic ring that goes around the arm and inserts in the metal holder several times as it has broken. Any thoughts?
  9. Mr. Johnson, it was a pleasure having you with us! Hope to shoot with you again sometime!
  10. For all the years I lived in Friendswood, I wished I had found the game back in the 80's when I was still there!
  11. Two years in Hollidaysburg, need to move things around, give as many clubs as possible a chance!
  12. So, does this mean that kneeling is illegal during the course of fire? What about prone position then? Quote the entire rule: 10.2.1 A competitor who fires shots while any part of their body is touching the ground or while stepping on an object beyond a Shooting Box or a Fault Line, or who gains support or stability through contact with an object which is wholly beyond and not attached to a Shooting Box or Fault Line, will receive one procedural penalty for each occurrence. However, if the competitor has gained a significant advantage on any target(s) while faulting, the competitor may instead be assessed one procedural penalty for each shot fired at the subject target(s) while faulting. No penalty is assessed if a competitor does not fire any shots while faulting. Now look at the parts you left out by using the periods.
  13. While I applaud your effort, I would have no interest in shooting such a match.
  14. No rants that I can see, just respectful commentary. All experiences are different.
  15. My only concern is losing the sight picture of the case with powder as it cycles by, as I've always used that as a checkpoint. I got the dies in over the weekend, played around with them and sure enough, they feed them bullets! Not sure just how much faster I will be, but want to give it a try.
  16. What you will find is a variety of experiences. Some work for some people, others do not. My first try with a Jager resulted in a broken tip after less than 1K rounds. Never went back to it. Same with triggers. My first try with a Vanek went auto, never went back. Lone Wolf connectors work in some of my Glocks, but not in others, even when moving the entire trigger assembly that works elsewhere. Too much variability and tolerances among the Glocks to assure that every one will run exactly like every other one. Call it conjecture, call it an anecdotal comment, just my experience with these aftermarket parts.
  17. Don't punish the shooters, address the RO's BEFORE the match.
  18. Here you go $28 feeder Ordered the parts, have to give this a try.
  19. Got rid of all the Dillon rings and went to the Hornady Sure-Loc rings. Much easier to deal with than trying to get a wrench in there.
  20. If a requirement to show that "X" amount of helping was done as part of continuing USPSA membership, then we reinforce the idea that this is an integral part of the sport. If membership at local gun clubs requires participation of one kind or another, why can't we ask the same of USPSA membership? All USPSA talks about is the shooting. What we talk about at local matches is the need to help. We have two different perspectives that need to be put together. Grow the sport with helper/shooters, not just shooters. So the challenge should go our to every single person who shoots USPSA on this forum to be helping in some fashion or another. We can all find an excuse NOT to help. Can we find a reason to help? I'll take a half hour of your time to help tear down a stage, or pull paper targets off when we are finished, or more if you can give it. If I can capture you at setup and teardwon, then I have a shooter.
