  1. Have you guys consider entering matches in a higher classification? Afterall, if you are dominating your class, why not jump into a bigger pond? I have entered in higher classifications (in other shooting disciplines) and it sure shuts folks up. It also gives a guy a warm fuzzy all over when you do well where you belong. Just a thought. I honestly didn't know that was an option in this game....I'll have to try that.
  2. I am a C class shooter, one of the top in the country, and people laugh at matches when they see my classification because at major matches I regularly beat most, if not all, of the A class Limited 10 shooters. I believe the reasons for my low classification are: a) I shoot few classifiers due to my location and family needs I suck weak hand c) I seem to regularly bung up my reload on classifiers due to nervousness I too am often labeled a sandbagger, but those who know me know that all I want in the world is a piece of paper saying I'm a M or GM.... What's funny about it all is that I don't consider myself good at movement A-44903 Bill
  3. My left hand grips is solid and secure in matches, I can go a whole 10 round mag without any shifting. BUT in practice my left hand grip often slips. Why is this? Bill
  4. Just as a follow-up: I purchased both the Burner grips and the Springfield Armory grit grips. The Burner grips were shipped instantly and have been on my SS 45 since they arrived about three weeks ago. They are awesome! I really felt like I needed something like these after those hot swelting summer shoots when my left hand sometimes slips a little as I'm shooting. The Burner grips are great; they feel and look like a high quality product. For a few bucks less and a few weeks wait you can get the SA grit grips. These certainly are a step up from checkered wood, but they don't feel or look nearly as good as the Burner grips....they don't have the bite that the Burner grips have. On the plus side they're available to match an S&A magwell. These are going on the SS 40 I'm building....it has a checkered front strap so I need less help from the grips. The 45 with the Burner grips does not have a checkered front strap. My vote goes to the Burner grips. Hope this helps someone! Bill
  5. I actually like the new format of AH, and yes I do have a short attention span, but I can't stand the content of the articles, and the fact that it's going "tactical." I don't think I'll be renewing the subscription, my time is better spent dryfiring.
  6. Saw some Ernie Hill's on the USPSA Classifieds yesterday.....
  7. How did I miss this match? Where was it advertised???? I did nothing all weekend, I could have easily made it to the match!!!!
  8. Match results are being posted here http://www.worldshootxiii.co.za/ Obviously too early to tell anything.

  10. Do I really need to buy choke tube grease or can I just slap some slide glide or anti-seize (spelling?) compound on the choke tube? Bill
  11. You can use full moon clips with the Super, thus it's much faster to reload. Hope this helped. Bill
  12. I was cruising the net yesterday when I stumbled upon this website, which instantly make me think of this thread. I hope this helps someone: http://www.targetshooting.ca/ under "Key Elements of this Site" go to "Training" then go to "Mental Training". There's also a lot of other neat stuff on this site.
  13. does anybody know if Para is planning on building a single stack 9mm LDA? I e-mailed Para that very question a few months ago and they said they had no intention of making a SS 9mm LDA....too bad because it would be THE ticket for IDPA SSP (assuming you are used to a 1911).
  14. Good job Bill. Thanks Jon, I was shooting a SS 45 too! I really have to get a REAL Limited gun....
  15. I just wanna say that this was a great match! The stages were great, the match was ran very smoothly, and the RO's were all organized and motivated. And the weather was decent too. Results are now up on the USPSA site. Bill
  16. Anyone know where you can get the EAA Witness Limited??? I can't find a distributor who carries it. Help? Bill
  17. 17 or 18 lb should be same with factory ammo
  18. What are the range conditions like at this range?? I'm wondering if it's worth bringing my cleats.
  19. I then rotate my wrist and forearm up over the shoulder level while keeping my elbow in the same position. I then kick my shoulder back a little. When the beep goes off I rotate back forward around the elbow and snatch the gun out of the holster. I've been practicing this technique for about a week now and have noticed a .1-.2 second decrease in my draw time, in fact, yesterday I shot my first ever sub 2 second Bill Drill after hovering around 2.1-2.2 second BD's for months. Thanks Brian & Brian. Bill
  20. He shoots 1000rds a day!!! Rich Father? Doesn't have to work?
  21. I heard that Leatham's time with a CDP gun was either 67 or 76 seconds....pretty sure it was 67.
  22. Got a new extractor free of charge from Aftec today. I plan on pulling out the Nowlin that I now have tuned to the gun and keeping it aside as a spare. I'll fit the AFTEC, and use it.
