  1. Phil, As a certified gamer, I applaude your ingenious technique and commend you on a job well done. LMAO Bill
  2. Jon, That's a cool feeling isn't it? My 2.5 year old daughter is a total Daddy's girl. She helps with the tumbling duties and she HAS TO put the loaded rounds in the boxes. When I'm reloading she'll get her dolls (she calls them her babies) and brings them into my gun room and plays with them there so she can be with me. I hope she always stays close to me. Bill
  3. What exactly do you do with the "blue donut?" How do you use it? Forget it, I read more, seems like you just squeeze it. (Edited by Bill Schwab at 12:00 pm on June 5, 2002)
  4. Big Dave, You have IPSC at the St Charles club: http://www.stcharlessc.com/ IDPA at the Sanner's Lake Club (St Mary's County): http://www.sanners-lake.com/ And all the ipsic in Fredericksburg is not far away. Contact me via e-mail if you need more help. Bill
  5. What clued you to guess the Mar/Apr issue? After you said 1984 I did a Leatham article search on American Handgunner's website and in 1984 there were only two issues with anything meaningful, and my gut instinct told me Mar/Apr. I also called American Handgunner's editor, but wasn't able to help. Bill
  6. Shootoff at the '84 nats. I think it has something to do with a 1983 police revolver shoot, I'm not sure though.
  7. And, excuse my poor memory, but have you won this year? It feels like you have... I won August and June of last year, none this year though.
  8. Cool, I'll be there Friday too. See ya then. Bill
  9. Tom, I hope to see you in good form, with all your equipment, at the Summer Blast. Which day are you shooting? Bill
  10. American Handgunner Mar/Apr 1984 (Edited by Bill Schwab at 1:39 pm on May 29, 2002)
  11. I have been testing out a new sport (well new to me) I'm trying out autocross or Solo II Pat, you just make sure the shooting sports don't lose you. [We should have never let Pat see The Fast & The Furious. After he saw it I, knew he was a bit too excited about sports cars.] (Edited by Bill Schwab at 5:29 am on May 28, 2002)
  12. I second JFD's recommendation.
  13. Nov/Dec 1999 issue of American Handgunner Regarding the Mickey Fowler award, Rob gave the first award to Brian. I also think the article, which was on the Bianchi Cup, screwed up on who filed a protest, they said it was Brian. Bill (Edited by Bill Schwab at 5:45 am on May 24, 2002)
  14. TDean, At yesterdays practice session I shot 100 rounds of weak hand Bill Drills. I did a draw, then transer to the weak hand. It was great, I feel more confident and comfortable with my weak hand shooting. I want to try to do this at least once a week because weak hand is one of my two main weaknesses. You might want to try Vice Presidente's weak hand too. Also, I find that I do best weak hand when I try to just see the front sight and shoot to it's pace...it's hard to explain but it allows me to make weak hand shooting a purely visual process as opposed to a disjointed process of thinking "okay, the front sight is there, now pull the trigger". I know this has been said before, but I wanted to restate it because it seems to be especially vital (for me at least) when shooting weak hand. Hope this helps. Bill
  15. cypher, I like the Wilson shok-buffs, and yes the lighter spring will lighten your trigger pull but the 15 lb spring made my trigger feel mushy. Bill
  16. Quote: I was thinking of replacing the the hammer spring. What do you think? How much would that affect my trigger pull and what weight should I get? You can get by with a 15 lb hammer spring if you use Federal primers...I use a 17 lb hammer spring, it ignites everything. Bill
  17. You're good with the dummy round.
  18. I REALLY, REALLY wanted to go, but I'll be on vaca in Colorado for 2 weeks starting on 20 June. I hope the match remains a reality though, I love the idea of it. Bill
  19. Live in southern Maryland, not for much longer I hope. Started shooting IDPA about 1.5 years ago, IPSC almost 1 year ago. IDPA: CDP Master, IPSC: Lim-10 C, although I think I should be A (I know, I know, I'm a sandbagger, right?). Shot Highpower Rifle for 10 years, and pretty much gave it up to shoot IPSC and IDPA (I prefer shooting IPSC over IDPA). Recently shot the Single Stack Classic and am hooked, it was an excellently set up match. Bill
  20. cypher, Not to rain on your parade or anything but I strongly agree with Jeff. I find my timing screwed up when I practice with a different load than I shoot in practice. BUT, if you insist on a light load of Clays I think some of the guys here where I shoot have complained of incomplete ignition of Clays when loaded too light thus resulting in lots of unburned powder...something to keep in mind. I have never used it. Bill
  21. Brian, Time for another hint maybe? (Edited by Bill Schwab at 8:57 pm on May 11, 2002)
  22. Todd, What Leatham class where you in? AM or PM? I shot in the PM. Can't find your name on the match results, maybe you didn't make it. Bill (Edited by Bill Schwab at 8:21 am on May 10, 2002)
  23. My set-up for 170 power factor loads with my 5" 45: 12.5 lb recoil spring w/ Cominolli guide rod using Cominolli's buffs (which I replace every 2k rounds even though they still look great). 17 lb mainspring Hope this helps. Bill
