  1. One of the things I like about dry-fire practice with a Glock is the take up on the little safety trigger. You can press this over and over without tripping the real trigger. I think it also helps with trigger control. tomB
  2. "Peace"is acheived at our home with a gate that blocks the stairs leading up. The Corgies (also known as "the girls" ) own the main level. The two cats stay upstairs, protected by the gate, until The Girls are kenneled, then the cats come down to get into to trouble, knowing they are safe from the Corgi's. The Corgie's theirselves are quite entertaining, add in a couple of cats and it's better than most TV for sure. Flex, drinking carbonated wine should have been given up around high school. I am not an expert on wine, but please quit that.
  3. Hmm. Buy the plates and build 2x4 stands. That's fantastic. Man oh man. And 3QT wanted me to join Mensa...
  4. 50 cal, If it makes you feel any better, I was a dufus with my G35 Glock after I sent it to Custom Glock Racing for a trigger and barrel. The "problem" was all my fault after a re-assembly, but MattK was great with his service. I still feel a little doofus about it. Thanks for the great service Matt.
  5. Welcome aboard, Angler 69. You have just recieved advice from at least one Master class shooter. I hope you like it here.
  6. The targets are attached to the stands with a nut and bolt, so you can adjust the amount of movement I suppose. I leave mine loose, they move around a little, sometimes they jump right off the stand (the stand is "U" shaped where the targets bolt on). I try to stay at least ten yards away, but sometimes get carried away when practicing shooting on the move. Paper targets look big for shooting on the move after shooting the half size steel. My buddy has some too, we set up steel matches for alot of our practices. 500 rounds in a two hour session is too easy to do. And too fun, almost. TomB
  7. Understated and elegant. No frills. Very nice. Are you putting a mag release button on there?
  8. I really like mine for practice, I use the half size IPSC steel. I hate to say this because I'll probably jinx myself but I don't think I've hit the stands yet. The stands are pretty much turned "edge on" towards you when you are shooting. They really speed up your practice time because of no pasting. Shoot and load, shoot some more. Reloading mags turns into the draggiest part of practicing. I think they are one of the best shooting investments I have made, for practicing. TomB
  9. Gary, Thank you for addressing a controversial situation. I am glad to have you as my A5 Director. What really appeals to me about a SS only class is the level playing field as previously presented by BDAVIS and Supershooter. i.e., one could apply as many custom touches to his/her .45 SS and not really have that much of an advantage over a reliable over the counter .45 SS. It would probably steal me from Limited, not L10. And as already stated, if it works, great, demand met. If not, well that's what provisional means. Definitely worth a try. I also like the idea of a more directed marketing attempt. I think most of us are proud of our sport and would promote it voluntarily. Some good guidelines/programs would be a positive I believe. Tom Bergman "C" Lim 10, Lim, Prod Edited for spelling.
  10. That's cool stuff. Very creative Open class shotguns. Do they work?
  11. I grew up (hah, my wife might argue with that) in Midland MI. Please post up when you learn where the USPSA matches are around there. TomB
  12. RA has the perfect idea. Four divisions with a Glock plus a revolver. I'm working on it. Three so far, for various reasons, none of which make alot of sense in retrospect. Question: You don't actually have to be any good, right? Just classify? If Ron's the 5M, can I strive to be the 5C? Or maybe even push it to 5B

    .45 GAP

The Bomars look good. You've just about got me wanting one for myself.
  14. Culture? No. Cultural? If that was my culture I'd be ashamed. So, no. Criminal? Yes. Is this what the rap culture inspires? No wonder it never appealed to me. TomB
  15. My master buddy taught me to zero my gun for me, freestyle standing, at 20yards. It's a good starting point anyway, obviously it'd be nice to know where your loads hit at different distances, for you. TomB
  16. I had to teach myself to keep both eyes open, but found that after 12-15 yards I'm alot more accurate with one eye closed. I used to worry about that until one of the Euro supershooters admitted he did the same (somewhere here on this forum). I think it was Julien Bolt. TomB
  17. Sorry ChuckD. I feel if we could talk toveach other in real time we'de probably get along just fine, even on the L10 issue. Didn't mean to get you honked... TomBergman
  18. Ah the rivalry between the Rhino and the 300 # Gorilla. If we had a cable network we could blow pro wrestling off the map. BTW, I'm not sure I like J-Lo for a nickname, I think J-Cool is better. TomB
  19. Downloaded G35. One gun, competitve in three divisions. Until L10 gets all screwed up (wink to Joe D). TomB
  20. TT: Is it the shooting at matches, the travel, the preparation, practicing? Have you broke it down to the parts that really wear you out? Do you remember the fun part that hooked you in initially? PS What diesel truck did you get? TomB
  21. Wow that is gorgeous! Should be a mandatory "Bling Ahead" warning though don't you think? Really really nice.

    Ice fishing

I like a couple of the versions above but my favorite is watching the "tip-ups" from fireside in the lakeside cabin with your beverage of choice and a game on the TV. When the tip-ups fly (indicating a bite) the race is on for the quad-runners and then race to the holes to snag the fish. Yah dat's icefishin' in Michigan, aye? Arrr-arrr-arrryewww!
  23. That sounds awesome, I will eagerly look forward to watching the match on TV. Please promise you will post stage descriptions after the match is completed so we can replicate the match on the local level and compare how we mortals would have done against the DAWGS. Thanks, TomB
  24. I like the idea of making L10 a SS only division. I think it would instantly become the most competitive division. The gear would be relatively equal, it would be all about the shooters. Allow race gear, it doesn't make that much difference. Or not enough difference that practice wouldn't overcome. It would still allow for a "cool" factor and wouldn't tick off the guys that already have it. Slide that straight drop mag pouch around to the front if you think it'll help that much. And please allow 10 round mags. The few IDPA crossovers will buy them if they like the game. Same for the racier holsters. Some will, some won't, so what. This division would give me an excuse to build a CASPIAN, thereby supporting a manufacturer who already supports our sport. I only shoot Limiterd now (with a Glock that is more competitive in Production) because that is what my buddies shoot and I want to compete against them. A SS Lim 10 division would create a very level playing field with a relatively low entry cost. I bet ten of us would switch over right off. I would move to this divsion as quick as I could. I think it would be huge. PS As an aside to the magazine-capacity-limited-state shooters, I'm not sure I understand the problem with this use of Lim10, I am not trying to be crass, I just don't get it. Tom Bergman "C" Lim 10 with a Glock that would be eliminated from the class. PS All the new folks coming in with their Glocks are either going to get a reloader and mags(to shoot production or Limited with their .40's) or a different gun,so after they are hooked, what's the difference?
