  1. Maybe it's becuase you're not shooting three guns. There was a decent attendance for the first match (the web site was up then, too, I'm sure this helped), IIRC about 12-15. At the end of the match the MD said we were moving to pistol shotgun until the range is improved. That would be two gun I believe. A few of the shooters said they had fun and would do 3 gun there again but not two. They wanted more stages though. I have my hands full trying to be average with a pistol. Sorry for the thread drift. I did get a confirmed foursome for the mini-nats.
  2. Are the detours gone that were up a year or so ago as you travel East from Cinci on 52 or 32 or whichever?
  3. There are four of us from Indy planning on attending, the fifth is undecided. Any guesses who that is? I'm sure we have the capability to run a squad if you want to assign a few shooters with us. Is Rick still the MD there? TomB
  4. That's cool HG. You can come staple with us any time. I just put an Optima on my 35. It's pretty cool. TomB
  5. Do stats manually? That means you haven't gotten the disc from James yet. I have to take the blame for slowing the process down. Sorry. Keep up the good work.
  6. That's great Speedy!. It also sounds like you are stretching out a little yourself. Thirty new shooters? Oh, the new ccw in Ohio! Beautiful. These are some fortunate new licensee's. I walked by you at the IN State match and regret not stopping to re-introduce myself. I'll blame it on the rain. "On TV!" That's great. Jim Scouten and TGO. TomB

    G35 games

Good call. You could also put a 9mm barell in and shoot Open division IPSC/ USPSA.
  8. Nice stage designs at the bottom of the first "b____". I mean," Section One:Targeting the Olympics".

    Buying new top ends

I just bought an EFK Firedragon for my 35. It is a ported 9mm barrel that extends from the slide about 1 and 1/2 inches. An Optima is mounted to the rear of the slide. Note: I'm not trying to build a real Open Division gun here. This is for my kids to move up from .22. It will be shooting "poofter" minor loads. If I can get my daughter's help I'll post a pic. In retrospect I probably should have bought the Bar-sto from Matt for the same $. Now that I have a local 'smithing buddy it would have had more value.
  10. Did I miss what was wrong with Brasso? There is a lady shooting the KY-IN region with a nice polish for about $7. Her name is Krista Toby. I am currently using it and it is very effective with just a small dose. She also does VV powders. Watch out for strong solvents like MEK and Isopropanol. Acetone falls into the same category. TomB Edited to add: The three solvents above are commonly used to rinse out equipment that mixes other chemicals, and then these three evaporate. Standard operating procedures for these chemicals is to wear rubber gloves and DO NOT breathe.
  11. And another press. At least I'd like one.
  12. Your classified ad said you were not going to shoot USPSA anymore. I'm sorry to hear that, hope things are ok with you. TomB Wish I could have bought your Lexor too. Nice deal.
  13. George. what great discipline. Dave congrats on your one year non-smoking anniversary. I'm sure there are many other factors involved, but I have seen your IPSC match scores improve dramatically in the last year. For me, the little pills helped get me over the rough spots and I've stayed smoke free for a little over two years now. TomB Curiously, I just remembered a fellow shooter who told me about a year before I quit how his vision improved after quitting. I can't recall ever seeing this fellow again... (that was supposed to amuse, but it is also true).
  14. That's two drinks if you visit us in Hoosierville. It's starting to sound like a party. Happy birthday. TomB Oh, and 3QT, in the UofM part of Michigan, when you say "the state down south", they are thinking O--o. Bad thoughts, bad.
  15. I can't attend, but I would like to enter the match. Is there somewhere I can send the check? Tom Bergman
  16. Ditto Spook and ErikW. I need to close my left, non-dominant eye for shots over 12-15 yards.
  17. In Limited this Sunday (STI): 59 points in 9.8 seconds, HF6.0204. Did I break 60%? I've got a couple of recent "B" classifiers and would like to move up. TomB
  18. No classifier match at Atlanta CC August 8th. Repeat NO clasifier match. There will be "a" match however.
  19. No, I'm not suprised at your review after shooting and seeing a buddy's experience with his. His wife kinda fancied the Brazos too, so it's good you have other blasters .

    Dry Fire

Dave I can almost picture it and it is very funny! Can you share a little of the context of the event? "I have some opinions on dry fire.", says the man who wrote the book. And made GM to back it up.
  21. I've shot both the Limited and the full blown custom. Either is awesome. You'll end up spending as much in the long run anyway.
  22. Blackdragon, That seems to me to be an intelligent dividing line for an unsportsmanlike DQ versus just being unsportsmanlike. I would like to add, and I have been guilty as well, there are often juniors and ladies present and foul language directed anywhere is really inappropriate. I have never, not once, failed to regret even a little cuss I've made after a bad stage. With a sport that requires as much control and discipline as IPSC it stands to reason that we should be able to control our orifices as well. TomB
  23. I was thinking 3/4T as Sammy Hagar. On a tequila bender. Just kidding, 3Q has turned into a real good RO. I'll say thanks for the guys who designed and set up the stages for the July 11th local ChIPS match. I am/was trying the concept of having the shooters design there own match. Mike T had two stages, skeeter had a nice field course, JSTC handled the classifier, JB had two stages. With a little better planning and communications I think we could build some nice matches there. I feel there is a lot of enthusiasm for this format. There seemed to be an abundance of helpers for set up Sunday morning. What I would like to see from the stage designers is their stage for the next match at this months match. If you want to set up on Saturday that's fine too. Thanks for the support, Tom Bergman
  24. Hey, put me down for a "THEM" shirt.
