  1. You are in the right place, "Skills". I'd recomend the "dot drill" for a start. It's here if you look for it. BE has recomended 15 yards as an optimal practice distance after you have become confident of your accuracy(sight picture, trigger break, follow through). Draw that same 3" circle and put 5 shots in it at 5 yards. When you can do that back up a yard. When you can put all 5 shots in the circle at 6 yards, back up another yard. Repeat until you are confident of your accuracy at the farthest distances you are allowed to shoot at. This will show you acceptable sight pictures for differing distances. Speed will come as you master the sight pictures needed for accuracy at a given distance. Have fun.
  2. Steve, I didn't realize how negative I sounded, sorry. It sounds like the fatter Glocks fit you better. For the 35 I build up a little grip tape (the Matt K kind) on the strong side of the grip near the top to get my finger to fall on the trigger where I want it. I guess the inflexibility of the Glock grip could leave you out in the cold versus the many ways you can change a 1911 grip to your liking. TomB
  3. Heck, one of my regular shooting partners has a 5,000 USPSA number. He's still pretty flaming fast too. I get to hear about the good old days every match we go to. tomB
  4. Can't get your grip right? C'mon SM. That seems a little lame. I've tried some revolvers that I couldn't get a grip right, but all of the bottom feeders are about the same if you use the Matt B draw. TomB
  5. Oh Stevie we love you too. What time do we get to start the Bday spankings? 1-2-3-4-5-45...?
  6. Doug, That middle of the week blows for any real matches, but I may be able to convince 3QT to do a special. Call me at 317 490-6958. Tom Bergman
  7. I'm sure I'll never do it again, especially after bragging about it. Viewing from the front of the press go clockwise for less powder. I have some masking tape with an arrow to remind me

    Cool picture

BD will probably be one of the coolest daddies ever when he decides to be one. Nice pic, too.
  9. Aniline "Anna" was our two year old purebred German Shepherd, all black in color. A beautiful dog and very protective of her family. She slept on the foot of my 13 year old daughter's bed. Yesterday I took Anna for a run, when we got back I didn't realize I didn't get the patio door closed all the way and she got away from me. Although I didn't see any of it, I think that my wife's two 6 month old Corgi's got out first and Anna went after them. The neighbor girl, about 6 years old, was out and Anna bit her, twice, although not badly or deeply the skin was punctured. I'm guessing she was probably protecting "her" puppies. It was horrible, the little girl screaming and scared out of her wits, me trying to round up the dogs before they got run over, a jogger goes by and one of the Corgi's and Anna are chasing her and I'm carrying the other Corgi and chasing all three while I'm yelling at the girl to stop running so I can get my dogs all in the middle of the street with me waving for a passing car to stop while I try to herd the dogs back across. I tried to slip out with Anna very early this morning to put her down but my daughter woke up. It was about as heart-wrenching of a scene as you could imagine. She said goodbye but then was crying "No" and trying to stop me from taking her, her mom's pulling her into the house. Bad, bad. I just started a new job this week, and I had to be on time this morning. I made it and thought I could tough it out. I couldn't and had to ask to go home. I hate that. Mostly I hate telling my daughter how sorry I am. I hate that the neighbor girl got so scared of a dog that I don't think would normally hurt anything on purpose.- And I hate having to put down the dog.
  10. I nailed my powder adjustment on my 650 in two tries. Yep, going from minor to major .40 I've got it at just about one full turn of the powder bolt-thingie. One try is lucky, but to nail it on the second is just about as good as it gets. Thank you, thank you, Elvis has left the building. TomB

And to think I was worried that you all would confuse me with the Trix cereal rabbit. "Trix are for kids, silly wabbit." Sorry for the drift I hope this gets capped now or it could go really south.
  12. Of course I'm joking. And congratulations, Kyle, you have been busy. My jaw hit the floor when I looked in my new Front Sight. Master in L10, Open and revolver. GM in Limited. Wow. Did I miss any? That's awesome. TomB
  13. Confession time. I shot my G35 with a Hi-viz front and Glock adjustable rear for about three years. I did modify the Hi-viz some (cut down the size of the FO "bulb" you looked at down the barrell so there was a nice black outline for longer shots). I just put on a .90 Dawson FO front with a Hienie Slant Pro rear. The difference is appreciable. That is an understated huge difference for the better. I have also been practicing with a G35 that has the Dawson FO front and the all black Dawson adjustable rear. I think I like the Heinie/Dawson combo better. Maybe if the Dawson rear was cut a little wider and deeper it would be as good or better, since it is adjustable. I just wish Flexmoney would have told me along time ago about how important the sights are on a Glock as compared to barrells and triggers, etc. TomB
  14. She sure is big and ornery looking, but BB is absolutely one of the mellowest dogs I've ever known. Of course I've always been careful to stay on her good side.
  15. As for "grip fits" I have to go with SS and the Big Goriller, they all work for me when I use an "IPSC grip". I've practiced with the Glock the most though, so maybe I've just learned to live with it? If I was a multiple GM and Master like Flex I'd put a smiley after that last statement.
  16. Matt K of Custom Glock Racing fitted a Bar-sto to my 35 about 3 years ago. It's been great and very accurate. Haven't tried any others.
  17. Thanks guys. Beautiful weather and good company. It was so much fun watching everyone shoot "ghostbusters".
  18. We're all with you Rich. Keep us posted please.
  19. My family looked but cloudy here too. We see it now. Thanks EERW.

As Eric W says, in Production you have to use the standard length magazines. If you shoot it in L10 as per S$P, you can also use G23 or 22 mags or 27 mags with an extension. I've shot a 26 in USPSA (TWenty-sIX=TWIX). It's as good as you are. Have fun. TomB
  22. Funny story. Well written. Loved the ending.
  23. Dale, The field course, "Ghostbusters" will require a minimum of 30 rounds. There are some moving targets though, an extra moonclip or two would certainly make me feel a little better. TomB
