  1. Congrats! In case you don't already have,(I assume you have most of these, but just in case): Case gauges for each caliber Bullet puller Calipers Scales Manual Enjoy
  2. Agree Big Time if you're loading lead! Clean up is a breeze. PLUS - Dillon die openings are beveled/chamfered for smoother insertion for progressive presses. Really pays off as you pick up speed. No clunking or grinding from catching case edges on the edge of the die.
  3. Doh! I forget about this way too often. When I DO clean as described, sure get a lot of yellow/green grime.
  4. Once you own a 1050 you see no reason for a 650. I guess it's all in your own personal perspective.
  5. Congrats on the score!! Bummer about the parts missing. Best of luck to ya man.
  6. I like manuals such as the Sierra with 3 ring binders so I can pull pages out when loading. And add pages of my own after developing my own loads or save a "brag" target.
  7. Yeah, I think I probably saw the same press for sale. At that price I was tempted for sure. I just don't have the room, plus I have way too many presses already. Hope you get it. Good Luck!
  8. You may find that you may not be able to go AS fast with NonDillon dies. Especially if you are a speed freak. The flaring really aids in smoothness. With NonDillon dies sometimes the cases will catch on dies as if the shell plate is a tad out of alignment.
  9. Hey, you said it was cheap! What do you have to lose? Try it out as a learning experience at least. You can alway get out of it easy enough. After all, it's a Dillon!
  10. Normally I'd agree with some others and say get the 550. However, if you are mechanically inclined and understand how things work, I say you can probably handle the 650. That way you gain an extra station for a powder check which is not just a great enhancement for a newbie, but for anyone. That is if you can afford the difference over a 550. If not, get the 550, it Rocks! I love mine. But first things first. Go on Amazon and order "The ABC'S of Reloading " by Dean Grendal. Read it slow, and absorb it. It is an easy read. It will teach you well.
  11. I've always had good results with KG products.I have not tried this yet. I'll give it a go. Thanks
  12. I hate super cheap anything. But love the idea of hiding between the studs. However, how readily available will it be if you have to cover that big hole up?
  13. Is it getting better because it's getting better ? Or is it getting better due to excessive wear?
  14. It's made by Bleako 360/520-2313. On EBay they had no name, just listed under brass tumblers.
  15. No way will I give up my 1050's! Will I get more? YES!!! I will still keep my 550 as well.
  16. What do consider a problem? I'm sure there are scenarios that would baffle me for days that Jmorris can fix in his sleep. Then I'm sure guys are calling in whom haven't even checked for tight bolts. How do you measure?
  17. I sort while inspecting the brass after tumbling. It doesn't take anymore time.
