  1. I won't bother. I plan to stay in the Sheraton, and take the little bus to the range andgo back. I will only eat in the Hotel...
  2. It would also be nice if they held a World Shoot in a country that doesn't require any medical shots... Last time that happened was in England I guess.
  3. I like them. They contain some language. Pulp Fiction Alien The Exorcist It's a Wonderful Life JAWS Freddy vs. Jason Scream The Shining Titanic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Rocky Horror Picture Show
  4. I cannot imagine there aren't at least 5 ranges in the US that could host a World Shoot. And I would love to go there too.
  5. yes, but he would have scored just about the same (he says 2% less, others say better because of the penalties he had with major) with minor. Besides, even if he shot 2% less of his current score, that would still be pretty competitive, don't you think?
  6. Dave S. has already caused a revolution in IPSC shooting. I like the fact that he has killed two myths: 1) Glocks are not competitive 2) You have to shoot major to be competitive Bless you Dave
  7. My sincere condolences Brian... It looks like your dad was a very special man. I fear the day I have to say goodbye to dad...

    Flinching

The loud noise of the gun is what makes most people to blink. Plus trying to fight the recoil with the trigger finger causes you to pull the shots. To stop the blinking, you can do a lot of other things besides shooting. You can stand behind another shooter and try to see his slide cycle without blinking, or try to see the muzzle flash etc. Double plugging (ear plugs underneath the hearing protector) is also a good way to reduce the noise and the chances of blinking. And to some, shooting a more powerful caliber handgun (say a 44 mag) and switching back to the G23 can be revealing. I still do it sometimes, and still get that "hey this is like a .22" feeling. To stop throwing shots to the low left, I would just become very aware of the process of recoil control. You pull the trigger with the trigger finger, and you use everything except that finger after the shot goes off

  10. Would it help if I changed the joke told from the perspective of a blond guy and his boyfriend?
  11. A blonde calls her boyfriend and says, Please come over here and Help me. I have a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I can't figure out how to get it started. He asks, "What is it supposed to be when it's finished?" The blonde says, According to the picture on the box, it's a tiger. Her boyfriend decides to go over and help with the puzzle. She lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread all over the table. He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box, then turns to her and says, "First of all, no matter what we do, we're not going to be able to assemble these pieces into anything resembling a tiger." He takes her hand and says, "Second, I want you to relax. Let's have a nice cup of tea, and then..." he sighed... "Let's put all these Frosted Flakes back in the box."
  12. Hehe, I still do that! Nice pics! Good to finally see some of the faces that go with the avatars! See you all in Ecuador!
  13. And Congrats to all our Revolver shooters for showing Jerry that "one of these days..." Nice going Sam! I saw the stage results and you really kicked ass on a lot of them!

Somehow I feel the difference between 1 and 2 at the World Shoot will be bigger in Production than in Revolver
  15. I'm rootin' for Sam Keen! Go get 'em dude! Anybody know what happened in revolver?
  16. He's probably blasting 10,000 rounds a week getting ready to annihilate the entire planet at the World Shoot... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think those numbers are actually accurate
  17. Haha, you the man Jake! You have put to words what I've been pondering for the last couple of weeks. Thanks.
  18. It should be. For IPSC Standard the rules are very simple: As long as it fits the box, and has no comps, ports or optics it is good to go.
  19. Looks like they all fought for 2nd place! Great job!
  20. I would go for solid state memory. Just bought my brother an iPod shuffle (1GB). Dunno how it will hold up, but it's an awesome device.
  21. Yeah, I also think that this is the key to controlled shooting. Realizing that you can back off a little to avoid disasters/get a much better score.
