  1. So, then it would also be faster to reload an autoloader with a short magazine? Seriously, there would be no noticeable difference in reload time, I think. But the timer will tell
  2. If you can do 3.08, you can do 2.99 Awesome man!
  3. Thanks Hop! Here's the thing on video... Can you say "Slow Splits"? Clickity Click
  4. Man, this thread is a nice ego boost. I never liked to keep track of my improvements, using shooting diaries or something similar. But this thread is just here. The "on demand" 5.11 El Prez with 4 down I did last weekend made me wonder where I was about a year ago. I can't believe I shaved over a second off my time (personal best now being a 5.02 with 4 down) Progression is faster than I thought Gotta get under 4
  5. I thought of something I told myself to remember The fear of not touching a gun for a while is the fear of losing. Winning and shooting are two different goals/hobbies... Maybe you're just fed up with shooting for now, but you still want to win/see improvement...
  6. OK, it's two months since the last post. Any updates guys? I ran Saul through an El Prez a couple of days ago, told him about your challenge and he said something like: "No way I can do it under 3" His first run was a 3.50 with maybe 4 down I think if he puts his mind to it, he will "easily" make it. Like Jake said, the difficult part is keeping the splits under .14. Saul had splits ranging between .10 and .14 and transitions averaging .15. His Reload was something like .9 and his first shot was a 1.05 Someone caught me doing a 5.11 with 4 down on tape, which was pretty cool, because it was the first time I touched my revolver since the World Shoot. But every time I see the vid, I hate the fact that my splits are so damn slooooowwww. I told Saul and he wanted to try my revolver. He immediately shot faster splits than me Good thing is that I have something new to work on
  7. Coffee shops over here in Amsterdam are pretty relaxing too. We just don't call the stuff "a cup of tea and a muffin"
  8. I believe Vluc is right. If you don't feel like shooting anymore, stop doing it. Do something you want to do. Don't worry about ""losing it" if you stop shooting entirely for a couple of weeks/months/years. Take your break, do stuff that makes you feel good! Have fun!
  9. Saul Kirsch. Saul is an excellent teacher and he knows so much about this game. Of course he teaches in Europe mostly, but he goes to the US Nationals every year. I can highly recommend him.
  10. Lately I have been comtemplating asking Taurus for a Sponsorship. The only thing that held me back was the lack of a 6-shot .45 ACP revolver that uses "standard" (S&W 625) moonclips. If they would make one (and if it could take the same beatings a regular S&W can take), I wouldn't mind shooting one.
  11. Awesome link Brazilian Shooter!!! Funny, it shows that the Production guys shoot the exact same amount of C's and D's as all the "Major" divisions. And it shows that I shot tooooo slooooow and I was an ass for forgetting a target And yes, Eric is the king when it comes to this game. 7 D's.... in 600 rounds....And I bet he's probably PO-ed because of them
  12. well you can also shoot 9mm major in limited and limited 10, however you will be scored minor. so what would be the point. lynn <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, then technically speaking it wouldn't be major nine now would it? :P

Holy crap Batman! Jake is FAAAASSSTTTT!!!!! :B
  14. Good luck Jerry (and Rob)! Just take it easy guys. It's a pain to not be able to shoot for a while. But it sure is better to let it heal once, than to shoot too early and having to go through the whole thing again! Good luck!!!
  15. Mike and Cliff, you are both Champions! Cliif, good shooting man. And Mike, well, I guess I won't even have to tell ya, but I will anyways. That, my friend, is sportsmanship conduct!!! We have two winners
  16. I never tried as many as Jake (man, who would stop at 143? I would at least do the other 7 to round things off nicely.... or the other 857 ) I did 25 in a row once before I fumbeled. They were pretty fast and smooth though
  17. Thanks for the words James I just know that "there was more" but I couldn't get it out. I'm not saying I would have done any better if I had shot faster (maybe would have thrown 2+ more mikes in the whole match). But this slow and certain shooting will always leave me wondering. I wish I could shoot the whole match again for fun to see how I would do...
  18. I know what you mean Hop. And thanks for saying it. I'm getting the fun back while shooting the Glock now, 'cause I REALLY don't care whether I'm 1st or last. With the revolver I tried to create that same attitude, but it's so difficult when there's lots at stake (like a World Championship). Your brain just keeps telling you that it DOES matter, creating tension and making you afraid to make mistakes. Also, it's like: How sure do you want to be when you make a shot? You can be "sure enough" about a shot, but with revolver there's no room for error (make up shots) and every extra tenth of a second you take to confirm sight picture will make you "more sure" of the shot. This combined with the fear to make mistakes will lead to too slow and "risk less" shooting.
  19. Happy Birthday!!! Hope you will have a great year and many more to come
  20. I hate shooting too carefully. It has been sneaking into my game in the past year. It's like: how sure do you want to be of your shot? You might say that you can be 100% sure of a shot, but if you wait one second longer or pull the trigger a little slower, you'll be "more sure". It's so easy to get caught up in calling your shots and slowing down to much in the process. I hate it cause shooting carefully takes the fun out of IPSC
