  1. I think the big guys that "rule IPSC" decide on that. And if I look at the stages shot at the WS in South Africa, I don't think we have anything to fear. And I personally wouldn't tone down anything for "one nation". Besides, I have seen the last US Nationals on DVD and I think that every stage could have been in a World Shoot. There would be more speed shoots in a WS and less long courses (and classic targets of course), but no change in "PC" should have been made. I've seen stages like that all around Europe. But let's face it. We have been able to play this game from 1979 and are still playing.
  2. I am not that concerned about the targets, but I am concerned about reading a post somewhere down the line: "How in the world would permitting stage designs with doors, windows, cars and other props which depict real-world inspired scenarios make the WS a better match when we can have skill testing exercises without the political baggage of props which resemble the real world?". Make absolutely no mistake about it - that is the next logical step. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think there is nothing to worry about Rob. Just look at the stages in South Africa. Busses, jet planes etc. I think most people make the mistake of thinking that a World Shoot could only be held with stages that are allowed by the lowest common denominator in National laws of paticipating countries. That is not true. In Germany it is not allowed to shoot on the move, but once you are outside of Germany, you can run and gun as much as you want, even if you are from Germany. Same goes for stage design and props.
  3. I cannot prove anything, but I think it does. Recently I switched bullets (not from a different brand, but a different lot). The groups opened up noticably. After I ran a brass brush through the bore, groups were getting tight again. My totally unscientific explanation is that the bullets "fill up" the barrel in certain places and kind of form their own profile, specific to the bullet you use. The good news (if my theory is corect at all) is that it is easily fixed by cleaning the barrel.
  4. +1 Especially the "get to shooting" part
  5. I wonder what the slide/frame fit is after lots of rounds. With the aluminum frame and all. Anybody?
  6. I love TGTBATU, but no so much for Clint (he always rocks of course), but for Eli Wallach as Tuco! Cool quotes: - "What's this? One bastard goes in, another one comes out" - Tuco: [trying to read a note] "See you soon, id..." "id..." "ids..." Clint: [taking the note] "Idiots". It's for you. - [a dying man has information Tuco wants] Tuco: Don't die, I'll get you water. Stay there. Don't move, I'll get you water. Don't die until later.

    Triple Six

Great shooting Hop. I tried this one for the first time recently, but I did the distances in meters and Turtle targets. I got 10.14 I believe (including penalties)

    Arguing Slaves

I think one could easily apply the thought behind Erik's post to a large number of non-political issues. Nice sig btw Erik

    Load For 625

Yeah, I load shorter than the manual with N320 to decrease fouling. I load to 31.5mm (instead of 32.0 which is in the manual) By the way, I shot some loads with Vectan BA10 the other day and I know I'll switch to that after my stash of N320 runs out. It's like shooting minor! And no fouling!
  11. The annoying thing is these jokes are mostly made by people who can't or don't shoot (well at) the match. They have nothing to lose and just try to goof around, not realizing that they can do some serious damage. I remember shooting my first Level III match two years ago. One of the RO's asked Saul Kirsch how fast he would shoot the stage. When he heard the time, he asked something like: "Oh yeah, well how many mikes are you going to shoot then?" Meant as a joke but it would totally piss me off.

    Load For 625

My IPSC load consists of 230 grainers and N320. I use 5.15 grains for IPSC major (170PF). 5.1 grains should do the trick for USPSA. Check the reload manual first
  13. Another Loner here
  14. I'm considering the same thing and our Production shooters are not even restricted to 10 rounds. Just go for it! I think you can be very competitive with one.
  15. Haha, true Flex. I went click TWICE last week. When will I learn...?
  16. I actually have a lady friend who had something like that happen during the move from one house to another
  17. Horrible story. I'm very sorry for your loss What is wrong with guys like that...
  18. LOL, well, sounds like the Sheraton is "the place to be" (whoever saw that Seinfeld episode where Frank Costanza turned George's old room into a billiard room will smile now )
  19. Cool! You will be the first US-based benos members I meet in person. Yeah, I'll make sure we meet. Can miss. I'm 6'2", with benos' posture, carry a wheelgun around. I'll be the one screwing up the reloads... Looking forward to it!
